I love your wood floor from your 2nd home renovation. Please tell me the name of the wood floors you used
Hi everybody, it's Cortney from 9 by Design!
This is a very exciting and crazy time in our lives! The second episode of our new show is super-fun, and one of our favorites.
In this episode, I’ve given birth to a healthy baby boy we named Major Robert Novogratz, after Robert’s dad, who was a major in the Army. We have been so blessed to have amazing kids, and I never take any of them (or any aspect of our lives) for granted even for a minute.
Taking Major home from the hospital is a highlight on the show. All of the other kids were super-excited to see him. And Major figured out quickly he is loved, as everybody fought to have their chance to hold him. He is a very chill kid, which is a good thing after having Five and Holly, who are the wild children of the family. One of the most interesting things about parenting is how different each of the children is, regardless of the family environment and the parents’ impact. Every child arrives with a specific personality, and that is really fun to explore together as the children grow.
I love your wood floor from your 2nd home renovation. Please tell me the name of the wood floors you used
Looking for the black and white rug in your boys room. can you lead me in the right direction.
much aloha Julianne
What a great show!I enjoy the awesome work, the spirit of the family and most of all the sweet kids!Looking forvard to see more of your work and great energy in future.Thank you Cortney and Bob!
First of all, the show is awesome! I don't know how you do it with all those kids I can't even handle my 1 bulldog! Second of all those wood floors are amazing!! Can you please let me know why type of wood they are and what size panels you used on the show?
Love your show! Love your style & designs! I'm so impressed with how you manage your big family, especially in NYC! Definitely a huge fan of the show. I'm a mom of 4, I love real estate & design so much & you really inspire me! Can't wait to see more!
There is not nearly enough attention paid to contemporary design. Thanks for showing it and artwork so well.
Question -- where did you get the "logo" inspired artwork that spells out FAMILY? I noticed you used it in another property on your design website. Please....I love it. Did you create them yourselves using light boxes or is there a genius out there who makes these?
I LOVE you show! The both of you are what life is all about. Love, Family, Fun, etc... Keep spreading love and style you guys are amazing!!! Cant wait to keep watching!!
Aloha, I LOVE your show! I currently live in Honolulu, Hawaii. I am battling my 5th cancer and watching your show is a great joy for me since I am pretty much bedridden. I watch the episodes over and over again. My partner and I were on the verge of being foster parents when my 4th cancer popped up. I have 14 nieces and nephews back in Illinois. I miss being around children soo much. I would love to come visit your family and stay a week once I am able to. It would kind a be like a dream come true. Since I am 4th stage it would kind of be like make a wish come true for adults. Please have it in your hearts to at least run it by your producers. I really am great to be around with an awesome sense of humor and I am also an artist. I have had various shows and my worked display by Lilly oncology on canvas. However, if it does not work out and you are ever in Hawaii drop me an email I would love to be your tor guide!
Thank you Robert and Cortney. We have love the show because you are both creative design artists and loving parents. And we learn Something new in every episode.
I was trying to explain to a close friend why I love this show. She said it sounded a lot like Jon & Kate Plus Eight.
But I told her to imagine two gifted interior decorators/designers/architects in downtown NYC who just happen to have six (and now seven) interesting, adoreable young children. THe parents and the children obviously love eachother and the design projects/house renovations are breathtaking and gloriuously realized.
Throughout, the kids retain their individuality and sense of style. And Cortney and Robert are parents fully in charge of both their artistry and their remarkable young family.
This will be unique and truly breakthrugh television.
Bravo, Bravo TV!
All of the above
Hi Cortney, You are a amazin women and a greate mom. God bless you and your family. Maybe someday you guys going to build my house.
As a mother of three under the age of 4...and someone who has been raised in a family of architects, contracters, artist & designers I find your designs refreshing and exciting. And of course your fashion is fabulous...Where did you get the earrings with your name on them and your necklace? have been looking online cannot locate designer..thanks for your help!!
Love your family and how laid back you are. Just beautiful happy and down to earth. Your kids are sooo cute! What a lucky family! To do what you love, get paid for doing it, and work with your kids nearby. Truely blessed.
Best of luck! Great show!
HI love, I just so appreciate your show. You and your amazing family blow me away. I am a 43 year old black gay male who so wants what you have with respect to your family, your lifestyle, your connection to your husband and your children...the entire package. I so love how mature and progressive you both are. I just met a, what I think to be, a really great guy with three adopted sons and I so digg em. I have always wanted children and despite the fact that Ive moved from San Francisco to Atlanta, went back to school and just got accepted, finally, into a great and demanding nursing school, hope to really grow with him and earn a place into his family. I love how you both have a great since of fun and light hearted joy, yet being able to earn a living. I am kind of lost for words, but I just so love you both and the kids...adorable. Please pray for me and my opportunity to possibly have a family of my own. Im kinda in the getting to now him stage and have not yet met the children...we've agreed to not do that for atleast three months. ok well love you!
I think you have a wonderful family and are wonderful parents. I'm an experienced full time nanny and would love you work with a family like yours!
I love your show and all your unique designs! You are both very talented! I want to be your nanny! Yes. I am volunteering for the job. I am currently working as a nanny in the D.C. area. And I'm the oldest of 7 kids myself, so I love living in a hectic house and having kids around. Your show is so fun! Keep up the good work! -jordan
Cortney, We all love your show on Bravo! I tell everyone about the house on Thompson St., my cousin & I came in that day. How did I ever find it in NYC? Y'all are doing a great job with the life you have. It's "controlled chaos"! Only you could manageit along with 7 children, which by the way are adorable! I've read the comments from others about how polite you are. Well, that's just the way Southern people are, right? Saw the article in PEOPLE msgazine today...looks like you're on your way to being a celebrity. Just don't be like Jon, Kate, & 8...stay the way you are and enjoy the ride! Love, Mrs. Beattie
I love love love your show! We are in the process of renivating our 2nd home and have been in search for great wood floors. I love the wood floors in your new home, please let me know the name of the wood floors?????? Thank you
Love your family and the homes you build! You are always nice to each other.. something rare for TV (and real life). All your kids are great and fun to watch.
Seriously a great show. I love the family dynamic and love seeing what creative minds can do! My husband is in the field so he enjoys watching the show as well. Thanks for letting us take a glimpse into your lives!
I cannot stand the way your husband constantly interrupts and finishes you sentences. It makes the interview section of the show hard to watch, it’s so annoying.
You're a doll! I can't get over how effortlessly stylish you are - even with all the kids and the biz.! I aspire to live as happy and stylish as you all do! I work with kids, and the best ones are like your kids- genuine, imaginative, and INDIVIDUALS... you are a great mom! thanks for sharing your amazing life with the rest of us!
PS my next trip to NY will deff. have to include a stop to see your amazing buildings in person! i love what you do!
fan in miami, EMV
I loce your show, and I'm so impressed with the amount of respect you show towards eachother and to your children. Even in the chaos, everyone is respectful and polite. You really are an inspiration with your vision, and tact. Thank you for sharing your family with me as a viewer.
Love your show! I watch it over and over again. Bravo did a good thing with this one. I look forward to every episode. Let the show go on! Your family is great! Your design business is genius!! I enjoy how you all interact with each other. You truly have been blessed.
Love your show! You and Bob are amazingly talented and I am VERY impressed with your kids. You guys are a joy to watch!
What a joy it is to watch your show. My husband and I have rehabbed many houses, but nothing like what you two are doing. You totally rebuild, as well as decorate and live in them. We just got them ready to sell. Of course that's many moons ago.
My oldest son, in his 50's, has been dabbling in rehabbing and flipping houses the last few years. Here in Halifax, Va. property is moving extremely slow due to the economy, but I'm sure it will pick up some day.
Absolutely love the show! I love your family, how you love each other and your children, your flexible yet determined attitudes.. You all are an inspiration to me and many others, I'm sure. I am not one to become such fan of any show, because its "just TV", but this show is different. Thanks for letting us know that people like you are out there. Can't wait for more shows!!!
I too have never been compelled to write on a TV blog, but I am one of 8 kids and have just had 3 babies under 4 and they are so fun (did I mention I have just moved 4 times in 5 years?? And love to decorate my apartments/houses to make them a HOME) so your ability to handle it all might just keep me out of therapy! I just had our third baby and I am amazed by how together/sane/cool you are with your self to be filmed while handeling it all. You look amazing, your designs are inspiring, and your gusto is making me organize my living space! Kudos & thanks.
Wow!! Your family brings such a fresh prospective to design. Even the kids get in on it. I think that is fab. I love your eye and esthetic for design. I loved the 1st episode where you, your husband and kids went shopping for pieces for your rental space. I would not have thought of some of the ways you used those pieces. Your famiy is VERRYYY TALENTED!! I have to check you out to see if you have written any design books. If you haven't, then you definitely should. I'm a fan already. Can't wait to see more!!!!
i just love your show and your family. I want to be you when i grow up (i am 70). Honestly the way you both adore each other and raise those gorgeous children just warms my heart. With all the negative in the world and inability to watch the news without wanting to turn it off - you and your show gives me so much joy and fun - entertainment at its best. PLEASE STAY ON THE AIR - IT'S THE BEST SHOW ON TV.
You guys are fantastic. You are giving us all a lesson in being flexible and taking things in stride. Your kids are so well adjusted and sweet. Great job on it all!
Love your show. Continued blessings to you and your family.
I can only imagine with the children, family and the business, there isn't much time for other business ventures, but have you considered doing some type of online design magazine, maybe sponsored by Bravo? It was interesting when you went to the market and picked up those pieces. As I was watching I was thinking "what in the world?" then when I saw what you did with them I thought 'WOW!!!" I love that thinking outside of the box.
Dear Cortney and Bob I really enjoy your show. Your design skill are fab and your parent skills are better. It's so good to see a man take charge of his children. Family Meeting--loved it. I have been a nanny for 12 years now and would have loved working with you and your wonderful children. Unfortunately due to some health Problems I am not able to work any more. Keep up the good work. Love your tub!!!!
I love your show. What an exciting life. I love how you all just go with the flow. Your children are so refreshing. What a together family you all are. Your style is wonderful what amazing eyes you all see the world through. You all are a breath of fresh air! I love you individuality. Thank you for being the family you are and sharing it.
You and your husband are creative geniuses, and your kids are funny and adorable. THAT BABY! Ahhh! I almost had to turn off the tv because he was giving me baby fever. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Courtney, I watched your show for the first time and immediately fell in love with you and your family. Your work ethic, discipline and love in building homes are apparent. The beautiful connection between you and Bob and your amazing children is undeniable. I definitely hope Bravo brings this show back for another season.
Did you see Housewives of New York last night? The Queen Luann toured one of your homes because she is looking for one to rent. She said some horrible things about living downtown and today in her blog she said something to the effect that "people in downtown don't care what they look like when they leave their homes."
I think your home is AWESOME.
You two remind me of my husband and I with 5 kids we have done 3 major home projects now older we are hoping to build.. After health problem and are last house took a toll on us financially with the market.. We are about to build our dream home on the lake we hope.. We moved to Houston from Indiana and found that the building here is much different no inspections scary and who do we trust very tuff time but as you we will get threw this.. oh and now a biopsy on Monday can anything else go wrong.. love the show and you have great kids keep up the good parenting it is so needed these days..
I saw you show last night for the first time and oh my gosh it rocks. I love your artist style and the way you do business. The style of your homes is so so so beautiful. Class all the way. As far as you family life I to am from a family of seven. I am the sixth and I always remember it was like a huge party of fun and friends. Of course there were tough times but in general I would of never traded my brother's and sister's. Your children will have great memories when they become adults. You life is Bohemianism and I love that about the both of you. Down to the class of your talents. Keep up the great art and love that the two of you are great parents. A Fan
I can't stop watching and I didn't think I liked reality T.V. I love that you all are "normal"...I came from a large family and we learned to adapt, to share and to love each other thru all the chaos. Thanks for opening your home to me.
Bravo just proved that a "reality" show can have "NICE" people....and a great family to boot !!!!!!!!!!
I love you and your family! The show is fantastic. Talk about a positive role model for young girls! Thank you Courtney for showing the world that you can have it all with alot of love and hard work.
Bravo! I was getting ready to quit watching bravo altogether (my boyfriend was thrilled), but your show has me hooked again. Only on Tuesday though, I can't stand any more housewife non-sense. Once again, love the show but hate that desk.
HEY COURTNEY! LOVE THE SHOW AND YOUR FAM. I'VE BEEN TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT IT. CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEK!!!
HUGS FROM MAINE
Aloha from Hawaii!!! My husband and I love your show so much, we have a 2 year old, not even close to what you must experience daily with 7, but I'm from a family of 6 hawaiian brothers and sisters and I must say, the more the marrier. You guys are super fun and watching how you two handle the pressure of parenting and the business of building is inspiring. Good luck with your up and coming adventure. It truly is a wonderful thing to create life and space! Mahalo, if you are ever on this end of the world, come for a visit, we have a 8 acre coffee farm in Kona, lots of room to run, and we can put the kids to work or at the very least give you some awesome coffee to drink. Aloha, Kapio....lolololo
