Entertainment Weekly, Newsweek, People, the Village Voice and a boat load of other media all had plenty to say about fashion designer Jay McCarroll in celebration of his glorious win on Bravo's runaway ratings hit "Project Runway." The new darling of fashion, backed by his legions of fans, was by far the hit of the show with his quick wit, hilarious one-liners and above all his serious talent for all things sartorial. McCarroll was pitted against 11 designers with disparate styles and experiences to topple the competition and take home the gold on the Emmy nominated series.
McCarroll's lighthearted approach to fashion and keen eye for color renders him a favorite among the fashion press. One writer described his STEREOTYPE collection as "fashion fit for Bjork's birthday party".
Jay remarks about STEREOTYPE, "Every musical genre has a specific type of look. With this collection, I was trying to process and reprocess that concept. People who listen to a particular type of music identify with others who enjoy that type of music by the social circles they travel in and, at face value, the way they dress. I chose a fresh autumnal color palette and silhouettes that best described those genres."
