Why aren't your shows online? It's great to hear a podcast (better than nothing), but it's so much more effective to SEE what you're talking about! By the way, how about a show for graduating college students. My daughter has been bartending through college and has no idea what to wear to job interviews! Neither do I!!!!
I really love the show, but would like to see more of a variety of women - older women do get left out which supports the idea that they are invisible in society. Also, younger women who are clueless about how to make trendy clothes work for them - get them early!
My daughters and i love your show. As a mom, I feel it is my job to help my daughters dress in a way that flatters them-but I feel as though I am constantly going against the teen fashion industry, and consequently, my girls tune me out. I would love to see you do a show on style for the teenage girl-and not the perfect size 2, 5"6" girl. My daughter is just 5' and struggles terribly with finding the right jeans and tops-she is adorable but it doesn't always show because she wants to wear what the trend is. For these girls in such a crucial time of life, this would be an incredible boost to their self image. My daughter would gladly volunteer-in fact, both of my daughters would. While were at it, could you work with me too-it could be a wonderful mother daughter show!!! Susan Mowery
where can we get that imaging software and guidelines for what to wear? the advice Tim gives is precious - I would love to know skirt lengths, pant styles and shirts that flatter my figure.
Yes! I agree with Cathryn! Teach me about foundation! I'm 5'8" about 150 lbs and well over 50...the love handle are killing me! Teach me Tim! What is good? How do I buy? What do I look for? What are your recommendations?
One more question for Tim: I am quite short, 5' 1". I heard you say on a couple of your shows that women of lower stature should not wear skirts below the knee. My trouble is that I have highly developed calves and thick ankles but am otherwise very slender. This makes me self conscious about exposing my calves. In cooler weather and for casual days, I wear knee-high boots but what can I do in the summer or for dressy events?
I have two questions for Tim. One is that he says we all need a basic black dress but I look truly dreadful in black. It drains all the color out of my face. Brown looks great on me. Does this mean I should get a basic brown dress? or Red? I also look smashing in red. My question is, does it have to be black? Because I would never wear such a dress, seeing as how I would look goth in it.
Seeing Nicole on Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, was seeing myself in a mirror. Her look, feeling guilty to do anything by herself and not feeling good about my body. I was so thankful to see this, Thank you for making me feel a little better Tim seeing Nicole.
I am 5 feet tall. I have 7 year old typical child and a 4 year old special needs child. I admit that I wear capris all the time, which I've learned from Tim are horrible for my height. So what do I wear to accomodate my life, my children, and still look attractive? I know I currently look dumpy, so what do I do to fix this but still be praticle for my life?
For everyone wanting Tim's 10 Essential Items - here they are: a basic black dress, a trench coat, a classic pair of dress pants, a skirt, a blazer, a classic white shirt, a day dress (or work dress), a cashmere sweater, jeans and a sweatsuit alternative.
