Barack and Michelle Obama's post-POTUS tropical vacation is the gift that keeps on giving. The epic island hop has provided both endless travel envy (and inspo) for the rest of us... plus an array of amazing viral photos.
The latest? Well, the former leader of the free world just took a moment to snap a pic of Michelle, as any dutiful (and well-trained) Instagram husband or boyfriend would do, as she posed off the top deck of a yacht off the island of Moorea. It's too rich — almost as rich as that kitesurfing snap that broke the Internet.
As Travel + Leisure reported, the Obamas boarded David Geffen’s 138-meter luxury yacht, called the Rising Sun, for an island-hopping journey around French Polynesia. No big deal, but other passengers on the vessel included Oprah, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Hanks, and Rita Wilson.
(Other celebrities to have shared the yacht with Geffen in the past include Mariah Carey and her erstwhile fiance... though it seems unlikely that the Obamas are bound for the same romantic fate.)
Now let's take a moment to relive the high points of the Obamas' vacation up to this point: After leaving rained-out Palm Springs as their first stop following the Oval Office, the pair headed to billionaire Richard Branson's Necker island. Then they headed to the South Pacific, where they luxuriated — and Barack worked on his memoirs — at the exclusive resort known as the Brando, on the French Polynesian island Tetiaroa, for a full month. (Read about the retreat here.)
We cannot wait to see what epic travels — and travel photos — are still to come.
