It must have been the week for Christmas decorating; while I was trying to decorate my office in NYC with Michael and Meagan, Bethenny was trying to decorate her ocean front rental in Malibu with tooting Santa and his giggling elves.
I'm not sure what crawled up me the day we were decorating, but I was kind of cranky. I think it was a combination of things; we had just come off almost four weeks of planning and decorating parties with virtually no time off and as you saw in previous videos Michael and I were trying to decorate our home for the holidays, cross items off our holiday shopping list, make client gifts, plan our anniversary party, and decorate the office. I was a tad overwhelmed. Both and Meagan and Michael were fine, I was the one who had issues.
I was cranky, demanding, and not very nice to Michael. We had our bitchy banter going, but honestly it was going too far. I was tired, worn out, and although Michael was being funny it wasn't funny to me. In fact, it was just making me more cranky. Michael had no idea I was cranky so I really can't blame him. But I have to give it to Meagan and Michael, they work really hard and despite my demands for perfection they know how to handle me. In the end I trust them both implicitly and know I am a very lucky to have them working with me. When they called me out to light the tree it lifted my crankiness. . .I realized then I was stressing for nothing and in the end it was a bright Christmas. Sometimes I just need to relax a bit.
There really are no words to describe this week's episode. . .it is so right and yet so wrong. It's right because you really do see the shenanigans that happen in the Hoppy household. I don't think I stopped laughing once. From trying to cut the tree, to getting it to stand straight, to Cookie eating like she was being lead to the gas chamber, to Bethenny breaking the marble on the bus, it was nonstop laughter. Any outsider looking in would have no idea what the heck was going on and would run in the other direction. It's craziness 24/7, and I love they let us see this because they are no different than the rest of us out there.
What Bethenny did on Skating With the Stars was amazing! She worked her butt (padded and all) off non-stop and really made great strides. She improved from day one and did something not many of us would do: she took a chance, set her mind to something and worked to win the title. Although she didn't actually win, she kind of did. She was a winner in so many ways and she doesn't need a trophy to validate that. She is an inspiration to many.
And then there's Nick. He is such a sweet guy, and already you can tell Bethenny has given him so much to be confident about. His writing is amazing, and I can't wait to see more of his food blog! I thought it was really sweet that he was asking Bethenny for her advice on relationships -- and her advice was spot on. Do we see Dr. SkinnyGirl in her future?
