What you didn't see though was me giving the stylists one rule: do not cut off my hair. I told them they could color it pink, but they must not chop it off. Bethenny supported me on that one, and told the hair stylist that "a bad haircut can ruin lives." When she leaves me in the salon, you can even see her do the "watching you" motion to James, who cut my hair.
I did get emotional at the salon. If you ask me now, I really can't take myself back to the exact feeling, but I can tell you I was overwhelmed with gratitude and also a little freaked out. I knew all eyes would be on me when I was on the show and had the worry that it might not turn out alright. I was a little self-conscious and totally out of my element. I enjoy fashion and getting my hair done and getting a blowout, but that rarely happens. I also had been going through a lot personally and emotionally so throwing myself into work had been my out. Now that work was aside, and it was about me, I had a chance to breathe--and broke a little. Everyone needs a good cry every once in a while.
The clothes were amazing, the shoes were amazing, but the best thing about the whole
experience is that it showed me how much Bethenny (and Jason and Bryn) value me as an assistant, a business partner, and a friend. Thank you so much to the Rachael Ray Show, who really treated me like a princess that day!
PS: Oh yeah...my hair is still brunette and I love it. Who knows though....it might be true that blondes have more fun. We will see what this summer brings....
I am thrilled for you I've been watching you on Bravo from the beginning. What I have witnessed has been your hard work, loyalty and the calm you bring to the table. Good for you I hope you accept everything with open arms. If Bravo has shown us anything it is that your deserving of it all.
YOU CERTAINLY DESERVED A PROMOTION, RAISE AND MAKEOVER. YOU ARE A TRULY BEAUTIFUL WOMAN INDISE AND OUT.
Julie, love you and your new look! I was so excited to see you and Bethenny in Fort Lauderdale. Thank you for taking a photo of Bethenny and I. I really wanted a photo with you too, but you were so busy, I didn't want to bother you. I really admire Bethenny AND YOU for your incredible work ethic! It takes alot to create and maintain what you two ladies have done together, and it's so nice you got a day of glamour for yourself- you deserved it! Wishing you more success, Ray
You are a talented, strong woman & "your boss" is LUCKY to have you..I am so HAPPY she took the time & effort to show you how much she truly cares for you & how thankful she is to have you in her life...WHAT A GREAT PERSON TO WORK FOR"...I wish more boss' where more like Bethany, the workplace would be a much happier place to be!!! Good luck on your new season to you & Bethany both!!!
Julie - They just put a little polish on the pretty lady that was already there. All of us would love to have a "makeover" and a special day. You looked terrific on Rachael Ray.....and it was really nice of Jason to come too. You and Jason seem to be the calming influences in the household......so keep up the good work. Every "hyper" person (Bethenny) needs a calming influence around. We will be watching for you in future episodes and wish you all the best......you deserve it!!!!
The world would be a much better place if there were more people like you in it. You are a wonderful little sweetheart in every way. Hope you NEVER leave the show. I would be SO SAD! Hugs to you sweetie pie. You're the greatest.
Bethenny is so lucky to have you! Don't forget to live your life and be happy. You will miss out if you live your live for Bethenny. That was so very nice of her to do a makeover for you.
You looked great BEFORE and after! Andy Cohen needs to have YOU on What Happens Live...you are very talented juggling a celebrity like you do.
Julie, you seem like such a sweet person. What I appreciate about you most is that you never seem to be working for Bethenny just so you can be on TV. You are a very humble person who works hard. I like that!
Julie, Your spot in this episode spoke to more people than you probably realize because you are such a focused dedicated worker. Support staff are the backbone of all successful people & generally unsung heroes. Don't allow your natural tendency to focus on the job at hand or the blessed differences between you & B to prevent you from seeing the opportunities for your own personal growth that you have been a major part in creating for B as well as yourself. You don't have to re-invent yourself to 'become presentable' for more and/or expanded appearance on B's show. Creating the 'me time' for someone like you who would never do something like 'the makeover' for yourself was something hundreds of thousands of women like you lived thru vicariously & recognized the emotions you were experiencing. Kudo's to B and the producers for making sure that the narrative was there to leave no doubt as to the intent & purpose of the experience. I'm dying to know what title you & B decide upon in concert with your promotion. Having a title commensurate with your work as well as your contribution is vital and just. It demonstrates B's integrity & honors/respects your work. People are naturally more drawn to YOU because of who YOU are, as opposed to the boy-toy who self destructed last season. I as a viewer, along with B (no doubt) will respect your choice if that is to remain strictly in the background on the show, but hopefully if that is your choice it will be after honest soul searching & recognition of the fact that your contribution is one worthy of sharing with viewers along with being something viewers long to see. The chaos & hard work that goes into creating B's reality IS reality. Kudo's to you BIG TIME! God bless!
Happy for you. Love your demeanor on the show ... your calmness must be a huge asset to Bethenny.
Way to go...
I love you and I love your show. Keep keeping it real. I am truly thrilled for you and your blessed family and friends. Your show is the best on Bravo. So positive and full of love. I love to watch you and Jason love each other.
Thank you for opening your life to us. God Bless you and yours
Dear Julie, I felt your anxiety as you cried at the salon. This was all so unexpected and over whelming. I think the stylist knew not to go too far, or you would freak out. I have to say the after looks like you, so you were a doll before and a doll after. You do not seem like the girly..girly type and that is ok. Pretty is what comes on the inside, so remember who you are. If you do feel uncomfortable about "surprises"..that may cause anxiety, then you need to tell your boss your feelings. NYC is all about looks, I know because my daughter Liz 25 has lived there now for 3 years. It is a tough place, but you will do fine.
Julie, you are great! Love you! tell Bethenny she needs a personal email on her website. Bethenny should bottle all of her skinny girl cocktails, especially the pear martini
I loved watching that makeover with you. That episode was so touching. You looked great (not that you didn't before). Also, CONGRATULATIONS on your raise!!!
Dear Julie, I would never want Nick to babysit Bryn. If you really need periodic help, my daughter lives in NYC and could refer someone that is used to babies. While Nick is a sweet guy, I do not think he is capable of making of caring for a baby. Bryn is the most precious thing Bethenny and Jason has, so she needs to be tended to by someone that is responsible.
Julie, you really should encourage the Hoppy family to visit Pittsburgh. I felt bad seeing little Bryn being stalked by paparazzi. I do not think she would feel so threatened here. The zoo, Kennywood, aviary, there are so many lovely places to visit. My daughter lives in NYC, so it can be a real drag there sometimes. Not sure if you ever go to the Steeler Bar there, she has met a lot of Pittsburghers there. That has made things a lot better for her. There is safety in numbers.
Julie: You Rock! Love watching you with Bethanny! Please please tell Bethanny to get rid of Max, he so is not what she needs!
Love you Xo
you are a very lucky and fortunate young woman to have a wonderful job and an even greater employer. the fact that you cannot speak proper english is one thing but, you seem to put others down for the exact same thing that you do. i wish you continued success and luck.. just be careful it may not last !!
Dear Julie, Why is Max back on the blog? I cannot stand to see his face. He is one of those people that likes to think he really works. I hope he gets off this blog asap. He has gotten his 5 minutes of fame...now tell Bethenney to rid the blog of him. He sucks.
Julie, I hope you have a great circle of friend in NYC to help you. My daughter does. They plan many events and dinners together. It can be a rat race there, so I hope you find time to join a few good things like softball in Central Park, bowling, Steeler bar game watching, and dining at some cool places. Bringing your Pittsburgh flavor to the big Apple something to be proud of.
Dear Julie, you made a wonderful Godmother. Through your actions and kindess you will be able to lead by example. How lucky is Bryn to have you in her life. Give Mom and Pops Hoppy a hug for me next time you see them. I absolutely adore them. To me they are the superstars in this venue. So genuine, so kind, so natural, and lots of love to give. If we all had parents like them, there world would be a better place.
Hi Julie. I saw the episode where baby Brynn was going to baptized at Gina's church. I just had to write cause I cringed just watching that scene. You should let Bethanny know that Gina's church is not a real Baptist church. It is a front for a form of a religion called Santeria (occult). Gina knew what she was doing and she has not been honest with Bethanny. No real Baptist church would have idols or images of snakes in it. Tell Bethanny to stop letting Gina play her. Gina's audacity to try to fool Bethanny in to babtizing her baby was so wrong. Thumbs up for Bethanny for running out of that place as fast as she could. Think its time to get Bethanny a new babysitter. You're level-headed. you 'll see through her.
You looked so great after the make-over but you were already pretty. What really shines in you is your sweetness and geniune kindness. Your smile and eyes tell it all - you are a good person with a good heart. I hope that whoever you are dating deserves you and treats you as well as you deserve. Do not do what many of us women do and settle for send best. You deserve the best. God wants us to be happy in this life and so please choose someone who makes you feel good about yourself, is supportive, and loves you with all of his heart. I was happy to hear that you are Catholic. I'm Protestant, but have been considering converting because there are so many good things about the Catholic church. XXOO Patty H.
