This episode was very emotional for everyone. Watching the Gina scene, I was in the same seat as all of you. I was away that week on a mission trip when Gina found out the news that she had to leave. I came home and Gina was gone. It was heartbreaking. If anyone in the whole world got my job, it was Gina. We supported each other everyday in a house where we are employees, but also part of the family. It's a unique situation, and we were in it together. She was the most amazing baby nurse and is such a strong woman. She is doing well, and is still in all of our lives!
Ice skating. . .I was sitting back in New York waiting for her to perform with such anxiety. I watched her routine and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I realized in that first routine that she was on actual ice. It was dangerous. She however, completed her routine with flying colors, and thanks to Ethan she looked like a pro! I was so proud of her.
Gina must have called me right after she left that message for Bethenny. She was always so fired up after all of the shows. We would talk and talk about it. And honestly, Bethenny still has that message saved, and we play it often when we want to laugh. If anything each time I hear it, I laugh harder.
Thanksgiving -- like I said, in November I took a week off, so I was totally confused about the whole oven situation. I didn't know it had been broken, and I did not know where the turkey came from. It all ended up being OK though! The meal ended up being amazing. We had a great Thanksgiving dinner, and I am so glad that I could share it with my second family (I went home to Pittsburgh to my parents house to do Thanksgiving with them too, don't worry!)
OMG....Did anyone have to poop while aboard the RV??? LMAO Maybe you could add a "Bethenny" killer air freshener to her many accomplishments??? LOL God knows us women need one for our beloved's droppings! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find one that totally masks that odor? GAG~ Oh,while on the subject, how did cookie make out after her mexican meal? See we need an awesome air freshener!?!
I love, love, love, the show, have been addicted since Bethanny was on NYC Housewives. By the way NYC Housewives not the same without your wit!!! I do have a big, big, big problem.....we cannot get Skinnygirl margaritas down here!! We are in Cary NC in Wake County, and yes the damn government controls our alchohol! I am having to order it from NYC and pay shipping..not to costly however I would rather buy more bottles than pay for shipping. We have to buy liquor at the Wake County ABC stores...and the guys that work there tease me because I walk in see the only blank area on the shelves and immediately pout! A Southern Girl Pout (p.s. great name for a new drink that my girls and I invented) is terrifying!!! I own a houseboat and go every weekend and every weekend they are all disappointed because we are forced to drink 500 calorie each..yes each, margaritas! Please, please, please help! I am having a birthday bash on May 27th and need to buy Skinnygirl in Wake County...seriously!!! I need you to solve my Southern Girl Pout issue..another p.s. contact me for the receipe and maybe you could have another brand!!!! Love your show and Bren is priceless! Kelly
I absolutely love all of you. We could totally hang. We would soooo get along! I wondered why I liked all of you.... First....noticed you in PSU slippers (bonus). Second.... Hubby and I are originally from Wilkes-Barre (don't hold it against me. LOL) Moved closer to NYC/NJ for my husband's work.... If you guys ever want a place to stop.... You are more than welcome. We can take the kids to the Crayola Factory!
Julie, I hail from PGH too. I'm from the North Hills. Where are you from? Julie, I desperately need your help. In episode 8, when Bethenny and Jason were at dinner and listened to Gina's tape, she had on a crystal, rectangular shaped stones, triple strand necklace. I must know where she got it. I've tried Rebecca's and Jennifer Millers to no avail. I am obsessed with this necklace and have spent hours looking for it on-line. Please help me. BTW you certainly have that PGH attitude and humor. You are a delight.
Bethenney; I am a huge fan. And when I say huge, i mean HUGE. Anyways I am a13 year old girl, living in the suburbs of nj. I have been watching the housewives series like it's my job since The Real Houswives of OC came out in 2006. Ever since then, it's been my bonding time with my mom, and also with my best friend ria:we get pretty intense during housewife fights lol. You are by FAR my favorite housewife. You tell it like it is, and you don't give a flippin fladoodle what anyone else thinks. You are ultra successful, not to mention gorgeous. I just wanted to let you know that i admire you for that, and aspire to be a woman as strong and succesful as you. NYC housewives isnt the same, as I expected, it's not as good. You are the only housewife that seams to say exactly what I'm thinking, you like read my mind! I'm am so happy you have a family now. I was watching season 2 reruns yesterday, look at how far you've come! Jason is one lucky man to have you as his wife, as Bryn is to have such a wonderful mom like you.:) Stay hilarious, Sammy
You are a great help to Bethenny. She is so blessed to have you. I realize she thinks everyone else has it made emotionally and that it is worse to be her, but she needs someone to reign her in and let her know that it can be living hell to be around her. She is a control freak, and everyone awaits her orders. Her doctor might be able to help, but you do such a great job in grounding her and keeping it real. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Hi Julie, You add alot to the show and a sense of calmness. You are so real and honest and love you on the show. Love the fact that you said a folding table, thats what we have done, just put a pretty table cloth over it and no one knows it, unless they kick the table like my family does and then you know because the whole table shakes n shakes. :)lol Please let Bethany I just picked up a bottle of the skinnygirl margarita in Wildwood NJ while on our "girls weekend". I have been looking/searching for it in Pennsylvania and have not been successful to date.
You are so ADORABLE, ORGANIZED and DELIGHTFUL. Being Bethenny's assistant has advantages and disadvantages. The work/home space ultimately becomes a major challenge on the show. It was painful to watch the Thanksgiving scene. It shows how much a micro-manager Bethenny is over her employees, and how that "no boundaries" can hurt others. When Bethenny screams and yells, she puts everyone on "eggshells". Problem is, the work/family space with no personal or functional boundaries leaves those who Bethenny is screaming around, no place to get out of the way. For everyone's sake-yours, the Hoppys (who always seem hurt), Jason and most importantly, Bryn, use your great skills and find a way for Bethenny to cope. She is sweating all the small stuff.
Julie, you add a sense of calm to Bethenny''s crazy but happy life! So glad she has a show of her own and not part of "The Real Housewives of New York" any more. Like her, I too was an "older" mom. I also have one daughter who has been the joy of my life like her Bryn and a gem of a husband like Jason. Just tell her to slow down and smell the roses- life goes by so quickly!
you add a sense of calm to Bethenny's crazy life! I am so happy for her - finding a wonderful husband like Jason and having her baby. I am especially glad she is not part of "The Real Housewvives of New York" anymore! She was the best part of that show and am so glad she has a show of her own. I too, was an "older mom" like Bethenny and also have one daughter and a gem of a husband lke she. Just tell her to slow down, smell the roses and enjoy her life- it goes by SO quickly!
Julie- I was with you on the folding table! And if you need more chairs you borrow them from friends or church. Duh! lol
Julie you ROCK!! I love the chemistry you and Bethenny share. I'm glad she went to do her own shows so we could enjoy you also. You are awesome at your job. It takes a certain person to interact professionally and personally, and you've done it. Keep up the great work.
You rock Julie! You are always there to help with whatever is needed. I bet you are the best godmother!
Bethenny: I used to get all uptight on Thanksgiving so know how it all happened, but you have to start thinking about the other people in the room. Take a breath and let others help and you will be surprised what a wonderful day you can actually have. "Not perfect" can be either really funny sometimes or really delicious!! One criticism - you are a trained chef, where was your meat thermometer? Properly placed in the bird, you would have know that it was not cooking on the inside. But I know that you know that and were already sleep deprived at the time, but that is cooking 101. Again, let others help. Slow down a little and stop trying to do it all now. When you are 60-something, like me, you will have fewer regrets when you look back at your life. I, like you, have a wonderful husband and we are both really, really lucky to have them. Take good care of Jason. You were really lucky to find him. He, too, is growing up right before our eyes. It's all good.
Love you Julie and I love BEA. You get Bethenny, so I am sure you were fine after her initial breakdown. You understand her, you might not always agree with her but you understand. You are a great friend and a fantastic assistant and I am sure Bethenny knows this and appreciates you very much. I truly hope there is a season 3 as this is the best show on Bravo.
Pittsburgh!? I KNEW there was something I liked about you! I've been a transplanted Pittsburgher in NY now for over 20 years (actually, I think I'm now technically a new yorker....). Those great hard working/strong family values are the best foundation to succeed in the Big Apple!
Continue being the strong back bone....and Go Steelers!
Hi Julie- You are a gem! I felt so bad for all of you...everyone was trying to convince Bethenny it was ok which made it all the more uncomfortable since you, Jason, and Jason's Parent's all know how she reacts when thing don't go well! Yikes!! She was acting like a toddler who was about to have a temper tantrum - I could not believe it. I wish she could get a hold of her emotions - it's uncomfortable to watch her act like such a spoiled brat.
