- Bethenny Getting Married: Season 1
In this week's webisode I had asked Max to meet me in Little Italy here in NYC. I thought doing so would not only inspire me to come up with ideas for Bethenny's 40th birthday, but it would also allow Max to see my creative process. In our last meeting I had thrown quite a bit at him, and I wanted him to know that I wasn't setting him up for failure. Planning parties is something new to him so having him walk Little Italy would allow him to see another side of how I work and how planners/designers get inspiration.
In my line of work I've encountered so many bizarre scenarios, and through it all I try to stay as professional as possible. However, I've had a few clients (and Michael) tell me I need to loosen up and not be so serious. Perhaps they're right. Maybe I am too serious. . .but to my defense there are boundaries and I never want to come off crossing those boundaries. My clients hire me because I am professional and I use good decorum. I am not the one to use foul language or do lewd things. To me, those are qualities that aren't professional. And, in turn, I expect others associated with my company to hold the same standards. It's not to say however, that I don't like to have a good time. For instance Meagan, Michael, and I go out for a drink every few weeks. We put work aside, we laugh, and have a great time -- but we know there are still boundaries. We know when to play, and we know when to work. We know what the boundaries are.
You are such a neat guy Shawn. I love watching you work and hope you continue to be fabulously successful and happy.
I understand your take on Max. I was in the event biz for a few years and found finding the professional boundaries for the "20 something" event crew one of the biggest challenges. Your work is wonderful. Wish we could put a fair price tag for that skill set on the invoice.
Shawn, I understand your position as the person that pays the bills you have to be focused and serious when it comes to your clients , you are a great event planner, I just love watching your vision for the wedding, baby shower, birthday party , I can only dream about having one of these beautiful parties.GREAT JOB LOVE YOU.
Shawn, you add so much to the show. I love that you handle everything so well, even Cookie, who loves you in her own way.
You are seriously the most likeable, sane person on the entire Bravo network (besides Andy). Leave it to the gays :)
Max's comments sound exactly like things Bethenny says...for instance, "Big Gay Circus" is pretty insulting, as well as her oyster comment (totally inappropriate, don't you think?).
You are great - a very nice addition to the show. Thank goodness for you!
Love you! come on Bravo give a show to Shawn. It would be much more fun to watch than a bunch of housewives acting like teenagers. Team Shawn!!
Shawn you are so centered in the midst of the crazy! Bethanney is so amazing and funny. To find someone as her equal is great. Love your humor. As for Max I thought he was gone. At least he should be. He's an annoyance in an otherwise wonderful family of true honest people. What's his angle? Or was he there for comic relief? Which we already have with mama, daddy, Jill, Gina, Shawn, Cookie and now Jason's lookalike Bryn. GBye max. Grab your pants and go.
Lastly, I wish I had your beautiful eyelashes. And skintone. and I'm a woman. Michael must love gazing into those beautiful eyes!
Get your own show! Now! Quick!

Shawn, I appreciate your honesty and your generosity of spirit (your genuine happiness for Bethenny's success). You have become a treasured part of the series for me now, and I always look forward to the segments you are featured in. Please continue to be a part of their lives--and may the producers realize how much you contribute! You're hilarious, yet sensitive, too. I was so touched by the scenes of you holding Bryn. I can see you now planning first birthday parties, anniversaries, and after prom parties. . .you're a natural. And you may be struggling inside, but you keep your cool and handle crises with aplomb! All the best, and yes, follow your dreams!
