This week's episode you see a lot more of what's going on in Bethenny's life. Bethenny has a core group of friends and I think that the "family" thing is very new for her. She is very lucky that by marrying Jason she is getting two AMAZING in-laws. It was a huge step for Bethenny to have her in-laws visit for the weekend while Jason was away. She really bonded with Jason's parents! I remember he called me and asked how it was going. I told him, "They are having the best time ever! Bethenny included!"
Being Bethenny's assistant, things move really fast. Sometimes things move too fast, and we bite off more than we can chew. The days are long - the schedule is taxing and the stress is high. Managing a schedule when Bethenny was pregnant was difficult. I know she wanted to "come from a place of yes" but sometimes I needed to remind her that we need to "come from a place of pregnant" - we couldn't say yes to everything, and with all the wedding planning some things had to take a back seat. Life only gets crazier. Watch what happens!
Having Max escort Bethenny to things like the JCC luncheon and wedding venues made it a lot easier for me to stay behind and complete other tasks at the office. However, I was a little nervous sending Max to JCC Event. I know how overwhelming attending an event with Bethenny can be. Although Max made some rookie mistakes, I HAVE been there. I can't even count how many times in my first few months I didn't call a car in time or forgot a phone charger. You learn from experience. I can only "tell" Max so much. He needs to be in the field to understand and learn, and that is exactly what happened.
Cookie is a great dog, but she has issues. Like Bethenny says, "She's complicated." Like Bethenny, Cookie has a core group of people she loves and it is difficult for her to let people in. This and other reasons (the excruciating barking I hear a million times a day) are why I was very excited for the dog therapist to visit. I was a huge advocate, and begged Bethenny to hire someone. I love Cookie, but Bethenny is so close to her that sometimes it is hard for her to realize what is actually going on. I knew that an expert could help. And she did. We got A LOT of good advice that day. Was I surprised that Cookie's personality traits mirrored Bethenny's? NO. Not at all.
Also - people keep asking me about the "pee bucket" at the wedding in the previews. Just like you, I am excited to see what happens. I think I blocked it out of my memory! So keep tuning in!
Thanks for all your amazing support and awesome comments on Twitter!
Love your insite, i also loved seeing how relaxed Bethenny is with you, this is such a fun show and such a nice relief, the best show on Bravo!
Julie,I was beginning to think you quit.We never see you. Thanks for telling the truth about Cookie, that constant barking and sniping is unbearable, and I am just a viewer.Bethaney, like all dog lovers, thinks the dog is cute, but if I were at the door and heard that,I would one turn and leave or number two drop kick him into another room.I know thats sounds horrible, but many have thought of it but don,t express their thoughts. She needs to train that dog ...now.
Love reading your perspective! Your reference to the 'place of pregnant' was perfect - and in terms that would convey the meaning and intent clearly and concisely. I think you have the right idea about Max's initiation into what the job is like - having a basis in knowing what need to be done is great, but can never take the place of being in the trenches and doing it. I believe you are a great team and form a very solid backbone for Bethenny's business operations with just the right mix of personality. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more of you.
Great blog! Can't wait til this season plays out. I am sure it will be fun. Not really waiting for the pee bucket and can't believe you are getting questions on that.
I LOVE your new show. I will NOT be watching the Housewives of New York again--they are mean spirited women! If that's what "friends are for" you are better without that crew. I think you are a hoot. I love Jason-he's soooo sweet. Good luck with your little girl and your new show!!! I would choose you as a friend any day.
OMG, the pee bucket! Please tell me when that airs so I can avoid it. I know this is a reality show but certain things need to be left out. Pees relay that message to Bethany. yuck
Bethenny, you are just too funny! There are some housewives that have catch phrases or catch lines but I think you have a catch word and that would be WORD! Talking to Stacie about having a baby and you ending it with WORD!
Julie, I like Bethenny because she 'gets it'...now, i'm sure if you showed her this message, she would say "of course i get it!.....or 'get what?!'......but for me she truly 'gets it' and that is what will always separate her from the wannabes. She seems like the kind of person who can take one look at you and ask two questions and determine your true quality by your verbal and physical response...refer to one of the first interviews she did for her personal assistant - the guy with the wild hair - i bet that wasnt a very long conversation but yet she was able to tell that that guy had some savvy which deserved respect and an archive for potential future use in the old rolodex.....lol
I agree, we need to see more of you, Julie! Your job is demanding, and it's great that you and Max can be great assistants to Bethenny!!! Take care!
I am very pleased to see the dog therapist. I have been training dogs for years, and to be honest, at the start of BGM? Cookie jumped out at me as a dog that was an extension of her owner. It isn't a bad thing per se, but the little things like the barking, and the nipping need correction, and I am glad you all got someone to come out and help.
Now let me totally honest here, I have a dachshund that is an extension of me, and I have a time making myself correct his little bad habits. In fact, I haven't to the chagrin of family. Oh well!
Love the show! Love reading your "insider" views on this blog!
you seem on top of things, organized and get the job done!
I like seeing you on the show because the relationship you have with Bethenny is so real and it seems like you are family to her but you still keep it professional and get the job done and don't take advantage!
I enjoy your blogs! Keep up the great work!!
I think you're awesome! Bethenny is so lucky to have you to help her and pull her back when it's needed. That's what good assistants do. Also, it seems like ya'll are good friends as well. Looking forward to seeing more of you and Max. He's young but he'll catch on. lol Later, and take care! love all of ya'll. As you can tell with the ya'll I'm from TX. lol
Julie I love your blog. The show is wonderful and I enjoy watching all of you. All of my friends are fans of the show and we all say it is a big hit. Looking forward to next weeks episode and your blog.
I think you are doing an amazing job. I had no idea being an assistant was such a large task. Fun to watch and learn from you.
I want your job! I would have to wear depends to work...do they make a spank's that work well with them? OMG....what a great team Bethenny has around her. Enjoy your job because there is a line waiting for it if you leave!
It sounds like the wild wacky world of Bethenny now has in-laws. Ok this is uncomplicated, for now, it has all the newness of a new relationship, and easy for the new wife and in laws to feel their way around. But I can tell you that your boss is not going to be cozy with those people, and it is sad. The in laws won't know what hit them, especially the mom. It is impossible for a woman who does not invite her own mom to her wedding to embrace "his" mom. impossible. Ok as for a "p" bucket, now I suspected this kind of weird desperate act to get viewer attention. The assistant going through the underwear line was where I drew the line at what I would actually watch. Now I hear that you held a bucket for her to p in. I always wondered how far a celeb's assistant would go to keep a job, now I know. did you wipe as well? I believe that Bethenny should have stuck with her RW personna and not shown so much of her real opinions and habits. She is not a likeable person when she is being portrayed openly. We all know a Bethenny, and to work for one would be akin to nursing a wild bear with sharp teeth. I feel bad for you.
Regarding Beth urinating before she went down the aisle at about 7 months pregnant is just normal. Babies lay on the bladder, and when one has to go....that's it!
I LOVE LOVE this show!
The Opinion viewer who was scandalized by the pee bucket upcoming scene should just wait for reruns of Bonanza.
This is a weird show to say the least. When I came on to find the schedule of another show I see all of this blogging going on and have to wonder what it is about people needing to see into other peoples lives, even when it is embellished and contrived. They don't seem to care do they? Show me the pee bucket scene so I can see that someone is having fun living...are you kidding me? See I think people have too much time on their hands, and tv needs to start monitoring what we watch, because we can't be counted on to do it ourselves. I did see this show 2 times and both times I thought you looked miserable. I know what it is like to be an assistant to someone, and I can feel your frustration and misery. Paychecks good, but I see it girl, all over your face. When it starts out, it is a lark, a fun way to watch what happens, but soon it starts crossing borders that you never expected to be crossed. I hear ya! been there done that. The weirdest thing I did as an assistant? Take someone's dental appt. so they would not have to cancel for the third time and risk losing their dentist. I didn't even need a cleaning, but got that and xrays I had taken at my regular dentist just 2 months earlier. I also ended up booking another appt. with a dentist in the same building as mine, and could not cancel because my boss said that would mean that she sent them a bad patient. It was so weird and made me feel like I was having an out of body experience everyday, that I ended up flying 1000 miles away and quitting by phone, after which I enjoyed a 4 day vacation.
Julie you are an asset to the show and B's business ventures. You seem to understand the dynamics of the household. I wish the best for you. I'll be watching and counting days until the next show. Good luck training Max.
At city hall were you to good to throw your trash away!!!! Disgusting. You should go around and pick up trash for an 8 hour shift on the streets of NY!!!!See how you would like people leaving trash!!! Even if the camera men picked it up, that not their job!!!!!!
Please tell me those two knew someone on the production crew would pick up the trash they so casually left on the steps of City Hall, and that someone did actually clean up after them. That's the only explanation I could come up with to justify them being so cavalier, and their egregious disgusting behavior/attitude.
Bethany! You are my kind of girl! I love watching you interact with people. I anticipate what you will say in every given situation that arises. I love that you are "Out there" in your face, land that's how it is attitude. You hold NOTHING back. That is what I love about you. Congratulations on your marriage to an awesome guy Jason, and your new baby girl. You looked amazing throughout the entire pregnancy. Kudos to your wardrobe and all the "malfunctions" you mentioned while filming in the clothing shops. I loved what you wore to your bridal shower. Watching the episode of you getting ready was really hilarious! I have a question. I want to have my wedding band remounted and absolutely love love love your wedding band that you chose at Christen Farrell's store. I tried to Google him, but nothing comes up. I want to have my ring designed like that. Can you guide me to his website ? Thanks Bethany..Hope you will be coming to Tampa area soon . God Bless!
