So Hoppy Together

Julie talks wedding day chaos, peeing in odd places, and the wild wedding reception!

Jul 9, 2010

The day that we had been planning for SOOO long (a month? really?) was finally here. In true assistant fashion, I knew my job was to stay calm and relaxed throughout the entire day and night. I honestly threw all of my things in a bag, not knowing what I would wear or if I even had shoes. But it didn't matter. The day was all about Jason and Bethenny being "Hoppy"!

It is so very "Jason" to have given Bethenny that note. He handed it to me when I saw him outside the hotel room, and I knew in the back of my head it would say something so sweet. However, when I went into see Bethenny in her hotel room to give her the note, I didn't realize that it would turn into such an emotional moment. Her crying, me crying and her clay mask running down her face!

The rest of the day went by SO fast ... getting ready in the hotel room and then heading to the Four Seasons Restaurant in the SUV was all a whirlwind to me. I am thinking the whole time - do we have everything? Do we have her shoes? Her underwear? Will the dress fit? Does she need deodorant? You only see a few brief moments of us in the bridal suite, but let me tell you. We were there for over two hours and each moment that the ceremony got closer, I got more excited and Bethenny's smile got bigger. My boyfriend was out in the pre-cocktail party, and I ran out there a few times to tell him, "I CAN'T even believe this is happening!" and "Just wait until you see how beautiful Bethenny looks!"

Now the peeing situation. When you gotta go, you gotta go. After I told one of my friends the story, she was like, "Julie, you have peed in way worse spots, right? I mean you did go to Penn State." Bethenny is my boss, but on her wedding day she was my boss AND my friend AND my family. There is no doubt in my mind that if on my wedding day, I was in the exact same situation, one of my best girlfriends would hold a pee bucket for me. I didn't over think it - hell, I think I suggested it. I am just sorry that Shawn had to be there too. I don't think it was part of my "job" description, but it DEFINITELY was not apart of his.

Hi Julie, What a great assistant you are, you have B's back for a while now and it's great to see more of you on the new show! I know how much she trusts and loves you, what more could a girl ask for from her boss? I'm so glad cookie likes you or forgetaboutit!!! lol Wishing you and your boyfriend all the best - maybe we'll see B holding your pee bucket in the future? haha All the best! Elle

B is lucky to have YOU! Well done! I have also had the unique experience of holding a "vessel" underneath a big wedding dress. I promise you, someone will do it for you!

Julie:Bethenny,Jason,Bryn are soooo lucky to have you 2! When you gave B that loving, touching note from J...I cried right along with You, B...it was such a sweet, tender moment...B finally has the life she never dreamed she would have...and I am so happy for her. In fact during the entire episode, I cried, laughed, danced in my seat along with the rest of you! I cannot wait for the next episode. Hugs, #1 Nana fm MD p.s. It was nice to see Ramona and Alex there too. :o)

Some women want to know where they can get a man like Jason. Personally, I want to know where I can find an assistant like you. You rock, girlfriend! I'm glad Bethenny's good to you, but if that ever changes,I'm sure you'll have a new gig in less than a day. You're amazing.

Julie, personal assistant extraordinaire:

Can't properly tell you how thrilling it was to be comfortably sitting at home watching the culmination of this spectacular wedding event for Bethenny and Jason. Your comforting assistance was visible in your calming gestures and soothing voice. This truly what is needed during this nerve wracking day as the clock slowly ticks until the moment of the vision of the bride, and a glorious bride at that!

Didn't want the festivities to end because you all appeared to be having a blast. What a glorious evening with guests that celebrated the bride and groom.

Sending you a fist pump and many high 5's.

You all pulled it off! Remember, memories last forever.

Julie,When you gave B the note from Jason, my husband was walking through the room and he said (I personally was surprised he was even listening) that, that was a very real and touching moment....something one never really sees on tv. I agree. The relationship whether its work or "fun time" is so special. I hope your working relationship last for years and continues to grow!

Thanks Julie. You not only did an extraordinary job keeping Beth focused and on task, you transcended into the sister she never had and I expect, truly appreciated.

Kudos girl... or Kadooz... either way.

Julie...you are "good people". Bless you for the person you are.

you should have been bethenny's maid of honor! you were way more composed then teri. i think that its a great thing to be able to have that kind of relationship with you boss like you have with bethenny. your amazing at your job. best of luck, nadia

So wonderfully touching. Mazel tov to all of you. To Bethenny who has suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune in the past and so readily deserves all the blessings of the present. To Jason who has found a truly amazing woman in Bethenny. To Bryn who is blessed to have two such adoring parents. To the whole supporting cast whose love for the wedding couple is so apparent. And to BRAVO for bringing such an uplifting show to TV. Many many thanks. Keep the episodes coming.

Such a sweet heart felt entry, you could almost begin that passage with a "Dear Diary, Guess what I did today!" Lol! Love reading your blogs and getting your point of view on the episode! Keep up the great blogs!!

Julie - you're doing fabulous job. Re Cookie-so many changes in her life, Jason, new apt., more visitors, hormonal B, new guy Max and now baby. Suggest because it worked for me you contact trainer Brian Kilcommon (Family Dog/New Hampshire) Would be great for Mr Mrs Hoppy to have trained dog and Brian gives follow up sessions, always on hand. Of course Cesar Milan would be the best but don't know if he is available. Would make a great show. Love you, love Beth and Jason and the show. So glad Beth found you as an assistant - you're the best.

WE ARE... PENN STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should get a Facebook fan page Julie!!!

Jule you did a great job with the bucket, wait til you get pregnant, you'll know. When you have to go you have to go.That wedding is probally my favorite ever seen on t.v.I am sooo happy for Bethenny! I just hope she decides to give Jason another baby, he seems to really want more.I hope this isnt the only season of Bathenny! Keep up the good work Julie.

As a former household manager/nanny and sometimes personal assistant(a five year job with one lovely family),watching you work with Bethenny brings back good memories. It's the kind of job where you get the very best and the very worst of people, but the best always wins out. Jason's the BEST! The stars could not have brought a better man for Bethenny. I am IN LOVE with Jason's parents too. I think for a lot of B.'s fans,we see ourselves in her struggles, both past and present. With a bi-polar parent myself,I'm fifty-one years old and HAD the opportunity to get to know my Dad more and do some healing,BUT still,I am deeply affected by my younger yrs.,no matter how much counseling and meds I take,it's still wretchedly painful. I love ya B and J AND YOU Julie,God Bless.

I enjoy seeing you and Bethenny together. That must be a fun (and maybe at times stressful) job.

Please, please please make sure Bethenny signs any contract that comes across your desk that extends Bethenny getting Married! You guys are so fantastic together. The show is up there with FRIENDS and Survivor! I'm sure you felt the pee bucket but you played it like a trooper! Enjoy the ride and keep up the good work!

What a great friend/assistant/family member you are! Yes, I would do that for my friend and vise versa. There really was no other option. It was hilarious to watch though. You definitely are close now! I love the way you are so calm and it shows that Bethenny appreciates and needs that. You definitely fit well as part of the family.

Good job, Julie. You did a great job of helping and supporting Bethenny. Good luck to you.

Hi Julie, you are a God send to Bethenny and she is lucky to have you. I hope she is kind to you in return,

Hi Julie, You are a very lovely girl. Good luck with Bethenny, she can be a tough person to deal with at times.

Hey Julie!

It seems you have the coolest job! Pee-bucket and all!

Julie, that was a jumbo bonus job you did for Bethenny at the wedding. Don't think I have ever heard of this type of thing in any other job descriptions. Damn girl, you are a real prize & cute too. But when ya love someone like Bethenny, you would walk to the end of the earth for her, I guess. BTW, who got the ice bucket to take home for a keepsake?............haha

YOU ARE THE SWEETEST AND SOOOOO REAL, JULIE. Bethenny should be very thankful for having you around.

What's with the diamond picture? Please do show your dear face!

Hi Julie! Please post your picture instead of the diamond design. You are a beautiful girl!

Finally, a reality show that seems to have REAL events going on. I have gotten so fed up with all the bickering and bitching on all of the housewives shows. It is WONDERFUL to have a reality show that makes me laugh, cry, be excited for the characters, or feel empathy with them.

Congrats on having a front row seat and being a team player with this new little gem of a TV series!

Love you, Real DJ (and please put up your picture!!!)

Come on Bravo!! How hard is it to get a picture of Julie and Jason. THEY ARE ON THE SHOW!! LOL

You are wonderful and the fact that B loves you just screams of her good taste. :-)

As Maid of Honor I held my best friend's wedding dress as her nerves 'attacked' her stomach... it wasn't pretty, but it's what we do for friends! To be honest, it's one of my favorite memories, because it demonstrates how much we are willing to do for the ones we love.

i only saw Ramona and Alex at the wedding.Did she not invite the other housewives? i would understand why didn't invite Kelly.

BRILLIANT JULIE! ...... YOU ARE! you are so good for Bethenny, you have such a good 'sense' of 'her', which is a huge plus in your kind of job! you do so well, don't worry or fuss at all you are so good for her! its always such a wonderful thing to be able to love your job! you look comfortable with whatever you are dealt you snap right to it! you can be prod of YOU1
