Welcome Home Bryn!

Julie talks about what's new at Skinnygirl HQ now that there's a baby on board!

Jul 29, 2010

As you can tell, welcoming Bryn into the world was an emotional time for everyone! Being in the room when Jason and Bethenny told the Hoppy's "It's a girl, and her name is Bryn" was so wonderful and I was crying like a baby and trying to hold the video camera still so I could capture it all on tape. I couldn't wait to hold Bryn, but didn't get to for five DAYS because I had a little bit of a cold.

Just within the first few days of Bryn's birth, I could see a change in Bethenny. She was softer, happy and calm just being around Bryn, Jason and Cookie. She finally had the family that she wanted.

I became obsessed with making the apartment perfect for Bethenny and Jason when they arrived home with Bryn. I let Cookie know about her baby sister and we made a "Welcome Home Bryn" sign! It was so hilarious though when the "two idiots" came home and couldn't get the car seat out of the car. Having a new perfect life in your hands is amazing, but any life-changing event brings new responsibilities. I have no doubt in my mind though that they will be amazing parents. Seeing them go through all of this makes me so excited to one day have a family of my own.

My responsibilities have changed a little, I've had to learn to just let something wait so Bethenny can have time with the baby and I'm also working on curbing my very "loud" voice. Bethenny and I were always screaming things to each other across the apartment and we definitely don't do that anymore.

The best part though is coming to work and having Bryn there. I love babies and kids and watching them grow and change. Being one of 18 grandchildren my whole life I was either babysitting, changing diapers or holding a baby. When I moved to New York that all changed, but now I am happy to have a little one in my life again. When I'm stressed I go ask Bethenny if I can hold her and I immediately feel better. She LOVES the skinnygirl office and loves to hang out with me as I type away at my computer!

omg.... I love Julie!!! where can i get one... :o) you're the best!!!

Julie, you are a great person, employee and friend and Bethenny is lucky to have you. One thing I have to wonder is why she had to start working on her book within one week of returning home. Why not enjoy every minute and do that later? Anyway, I am so thrilled for all of you and hope you soak all this in cause it goes oh so fast. Love the show!!

Julie you are a great assistant, friend and family to Bethenny, Jason and Bryn. You have grown on me these past few weeks. I think you are wonderful and you have become a favorite. You can tell that Bethenny has a great deal of respect for you.

Ha! Those 'idiots' with the car seat......Ha! I laughed so hard! Great great moment. Oh Julie, you did a terrific job holding that camera still.....thank you for that. I cried too like a baby watching that scene with Jason's parents.....so glad we all got to see that moment and now we all know who to thank for capturing it. Atta Girl!

Hi Julie, I love you on the show! You are a very sweet girl and a great addition to the show! Bethenny is fortunate to have you working with her!So refreshing to see someone like you on a docu-drama who is beautful, smart, and sensible! All the best to you Julie!

WHERE IS MY JULIE!!!! lol! I think you are a wonderful girl and it shows in every aspect of your sweet self. I think you are a good roll model for a work ethic for younger girls, to be organized and think ahead to how to work smarter and not harder. But it seems you do both. I love this show it is a happy or "Hoppy" place to go to after a long day of news. Good luck to you Julie. May God Bless.

Julie, isn't being an auntie Great! I love it, you spoil them and send them home (rather, get to go home!) You get to teach Bryn how to laugh at herself, eat a pickle and make the best faces and the FREE HUGS! Oh, I love the free hugs! This show makes me feel lighter, happier and I smile after watching it. The other Bravo shows don't do that, in fact, I stopped watching everything but your show and bits and pieces of the Chef show. All of it is so the opposite of... I guess, whatever Zen would be. There is no peace, laughter, love, resolution, togethernes, etc. I get that from your show.

Julie...you've done such a great job for Bethanny, and I'm sure she's not the easiest person to please, but glad that she is getting "softer". She is just driven to work, so it's just part of her nature, and you're a great asset. Kudos to you and Max for doing all that you do to make Bethanny and Jason's life easier, and what a benefit to hold little Bryn!

Hi Julie,

I work close with my boss and I truly appreciate what you do for Bethanny, Jason, Bryn & Cookie. Your an inspiration to us working girls out here. I like the way you stand your ground and you know which battles to pick. Your so respectful of Bethanny & Jason and that will benifit you far in life.

Best wishes to you in all you do --

Hi Julie! I am so happy for you! Honestly, I know what you're talking about when you say that Bethenny's changed! She looks softer, I noticed it last night on the episode! Wow, motherhood does that to us! You will have your time for motherhood, when you do, it's not like any other love in your life! I am happy for you because you get to be with Bethenny & her family! Didn't she say it last night? You are family? I think you know her so well, probably better than anyone! Consider yourself a lucky girl!!

I know the economy is bad and you need to keep your job, so you say nice things... but I don't know how you can work with her. She is a lunatic when she gets stressed and she barks orders at people.

love love love you!!! you're an amazing assistant wish all the best for you! please be patient with max he's a good kid and seems to fit in well.

Two words to describe you Julie - "Freakin Awesome"

Your are an amazing part of the skinny girl team! Bethenney better hold on to you......with all this airtime I bet some big people are going to try to scoop you up........

Julie, how did you land a job as a celebrity assistant? I would love to get into it.

well julie i give u props, u r amazing at what u do, BUT, i dont kno how u are able to put up with bethenny, she is NUTS, why, does she talk the way she does all the time, she acts like she is insane!!! but all the more IMMA KEEP WATCHING!!

Great photo, Julie. Next time you come to Pittsburgh to visit, convince Bethenny to come and do a book signing. It would be wonderful to meet both of you. Keep up the good work....you are such a great assistant and now an "aunt," too. Congrats! :)

You are great and an awesome person

Can I just say how amazing it is to watch a show on Bravo and actually LIKE all the characters on the show. You guys are awesome. I am so jealous of your job and how well you do it. You're amazing!

I think you deserve a medal, Julie!!! Great job.

I am so jerous of you! You are right next to Bethenny and be able to see Bryn's growth day by day!! But at the same time, I so admire your hardworking, sincere, thoughtfull trait towards Bethenny! I'm sure I will be failing to do the same things as you do!! So grad Bethenny has an assistant that she can trust fully!

Julie....wow it is so cool to watch you on the show. Cracked up when Max said putting that basinette together made him want to have a child with you. lol Nice chemistry between you two. Give lil Bryn a special hug from all of her fans.

Julie, it is so nice to see this type of relationship in the workplace. I know it makes your job worth having. You and Bethenny are both lucky to have each other. Keep being who you are and adding to the show. Love watching all of you. You and Max are so funny together. I just enjoy watching this one "big happy family".

Julie you def are Bethenny's rock, the sound of logic and reason amongst all the chaos lol. The apartment and especially the babys room was PERFECT! I even cried when I saw it, like a little girl's fairy tale! Precious!

Now this "tension" between you and Max, what is that? He must have figured it out by now that his charms don't work on you (unheard of I know), you're a tough cookie to break, maybe that's what it is, you're not impressed by his wiley ways and he's frustrated and inturn you're agitated. I don't know there's something amiss.

But whatever You're awesome and congrats Auntie Julie!

Out of curiosity, just what does Max do? He doesn't seem to be taking much of the heat off of you. Is he MIA or does he accomplish a lot we're not seeing? Seems like you take all of the heat.

What a nice spirit you are. Sweet and calm. I know Betheny will probably try your patience, but it looks like you're smart enough and wise enough to understand it has nothing to do with you. She loves you. The show is great!

PERFECTION PLEASE! Julie, you are an awesome person for them to have around! you are a girl ' everything'! and they need you! please for your sake & thiers too, GET RID OF MAX! I'm so sick of him acting like the job is all a party & his goal in life is to get a date, he has no manners & no class at all! cute doesn't get the job done..... I think Bethenny & you would be better off with someone who cares about the job & the requirements & fits in with all of you better than he does. he DOESN'T FIT! of course you know all this! you are a very smart girl so you do know, all he's doing is showing his ass. kudos to you Julie you are very good at what you do and everything else too! you truley are a 'girl Friday Sat Sun Mon' ...too! keep up the good work dear, you go girl!

Julie,

Congratulations on earning Bethenny's respect and trust through your work. You and Cookie seem to also have a very special relationship.

I noticed there is a "Shop" tab on Bethenny.com. Is there any way to add the brand of Bethenny's hand bags? I especially loved the one she was carrying when she met with her Stylist on July 29th episode, "Bryn There Done That."

Hi Julie Mommy, How cute is that? You should be very proud of yourself for everything you do for the Hoppy family. What would they do without you? I know what you mean about a huge family....I have 22 cousins. So there always was a baby, wedding, divorce....you name it. You are very lucky to be working with Bethenny. I'm sure you are learning so much more than you thought you would. Something tells me that you will be more involved with all of Bethennys endeavers now that she is a "Mommy"...she needs you more than ever. Enjoy your work, as always take good care of Cookie and whenever you get a chance hold that sweet baby Bryn. Have fun Julie...you really are a Sweatheart for the Hoppy family!

Julie,

I love hearing your perspective and watching you interact with your new 'extended family' (especially how you handle Cookie/Cujo). This show has been a joy from start to (much, much too soon!) season finale, which seems to be happening next week & I have loved watching your part in it. I enjoyed hearing what you had to say during the pre-wedding celebrations tremendously & look forward to even more in the future! In a very real way, you have been the eyes/ears of an insider for the rest of us who aren't there, but would dearly love to be. Thank you.

Hi Julie,

Anyway you would go out with Max? He is a real cutie..P

Julie, you are such a one in a million individual. I know you're beyond loyal to Bettheny, Jason and Bryn....but your day to shine on your own will come. Your character and capability shine through in every episode. I love the show and find you to be the up and comer to keep my eye on....when is your book coming?:)

Watching this week has made me so emotional, it's been a blessing to see, watching you all, and I think you are wonderful in the love and care you show that little family! They are blessed to have you!

Julie, You are a wonderful combination of warm personality and straight-shooter! It's very clear how much you love being part of the family - and a sharp professional, too! As much as I love Max, too, I appreciated the promo where you told Max he should know more what to do by now - so that he's pulling his weight. Great job! Glad to see your photo on now, too!

Dear Julie, save you boss. Number one is the fact that she should not be planning her own baby shower!! What would make sense is maybe having a charity one for people in need. That would make your boss look like she cares about others more than herself. The other thing is Max. He has to go. How embarassing what he wrote regarding RObert Verdi? ALmost seems anti- gay comments. Max is not good for business. My thoughts are he is a friend of the family or something, because the guy simply put is a disaster waiting to happen. He has already offended Robert Verdi and all that like him. Who the hell does Max think he is? A star? He will ruin the biz believe me. Then you will suffer also.

We finally found skinny girl in stores here at Penn State!!! Ummmm it's a lot stronger than I thought it was so we will def get our money's worth! Love you julie!!!!!! Miss you girl! xxxx

JULIE, BETHENNY IS BLESSED TO HAVE YOU IN HER LIFE. YOU ARE A SWEETHEART! HOPE TO SEE ALOT MORE OF YOU ON THE SHOW.

Julie,

I enjoy the show very much. You are a wonderful addition to the show and sometimes the "voice of reason". I like all the people on the show and enjoy watching Bethenney's genuine appreciation for you. Not all employers are that open. You are a part of what makes this show a success. I look forward to seeing more of you and your employee-employer relationship. I'm just "nuts" about the show and all the cast. I am a loyal viewer!

Julie, you do such a great job with Bethany and Jason. Bethany is really lucky to have you. You guys are truely a great family to watch, no toxic BS involved. This proves to me Bravo does not need to include a Villian to have a successful show. Life is so stressful and to turn on the TV and see love and happiness and friendship is a good thing.

I love Max. I cannot stand the way that you talk to him. You are very rude. Who do you think you are ???

You girls are such a GREAT COMBO.....You met for a reason..... FForever. You are a hard worker and good match for Bethany. Wish you all the best. Love watching the show. Just bought my 1st Skinney Girl drinks ....looking forward to enjoying them. Take Care all.....

Julie, the baby shower idea is a disaster. Who is coming up with these ideas? They stink!!! A great party showing off the baby is fine..but planning one's own baby shower? Julie that is soooooooooooooo tacky. It did give me an idea though...maybe I could throw myself a second wedding shower? It has been 29 years since my sisters gave me one and Julie some of the stuff over the years go broken and looks a little worn. Maybe Shawn could help me plan this...what do you think? Is this a great idea or what? I would go with black and gold for the decor..

You ROCK! Wish all my employee's were like you! Keep up the awesome work!

JULIE!

You are totally the voice of reason and completely get the vibes that are needed to understand someone in business. You are smart, sophisticated, and incredibly flexible. I imagine you do a lot of work we simply don't see. I'd love for them to show you more!

I don't understand why everyone is blaming you for Bethenny planning her shower, that's just kind of who Bethenny is isn't it?

Lots of love! xxoo

Dear Julie, I think what you all need is a road trip.Bethenny should get a luxury bus for all of you to ride in and then you could go to different parts of the USA to do events and meet fans. Bethenny needs to learn to get out of NYC. The cast of characters that you would meet in the road would be hilarious. While the baby is and infant, this is the time to travel. I hope you bring the big cheese here to Pittsburgh. I would love to see her at Primantis and attending a Steeler game...lol.

You and Bethenny are so lucky to have come across one another! What a great team. Enjoy every second!

One question for you or other bloggers.....Who's the artist that sang Bethenny's wedding song she danced to with Jason?

Julie, I think the baby shower was great! You are so great for this family. Bethenny seems to be more like a sister with you. I love your work ethics and your friendship with Bethenny. I am so glad she can count on you. Weezie

Hi Julie, just love you on the show. Was so nice that Bethenny gave that fabulous toast...you really are her right hand and the voice of reason. My family saw you a few weeks ago driving the Skinny Girl Bug on County Rd 51...I thought my daughter was going to fall out of the window waving at you. You're, as she says...her "friend in her head" (quoting Wendy Williams) LOL. Hope you guys come back for another season.

I love to watch the show. I really like the relationship that Bethenny have with her employees. Jason you rock as a husband and baby Bryn is so precious, enjoy her because kids grow up so fast.

I love the calm confidence you show. No drama,no needing the attention of the camera, no need to have your ego fed at anyone else's expense or, indeed, at all. Just the quiet simplicity of a competent person letting someone else have the limelight without feeling second. Very impressive. You offer the viewers a lot to admire and to emulate.
