Shawn Rabideau

Only Time Will Tell

Shawn talks about his journey with Bethenny, and thanks his family, friends, and fans for their support!

Aug 5, 2010

It is so hard to believe this journey with Bethenny, Jason, Bryn, Julie, Max and yes, Cookie is coming to an end! When I take a journey (such as this one) I always try to reflect back and look at the bigger picture. I like to assess what I did right, what I did wrong, how I can improve and how I can grow. Working with Bethenny on her wedding took me out of my comfort level and pushed me to work the hardest I ever have. It made me stronger as a person and as a business man. She taught me so many lessons and things that I can't even begin to list them all. There were many ups and there many downs. And there were many "oh s*@t" moments …but from each one I learned a lesson.

When I was working with Bethenny on the baby shower she was a different person, but so was I. I had confidence; I know that sounds self-righteous, but you have to understand it took me 35 long years to get to the point I am today and to be as confident as I am today. Working on her wedding brought me further to the point of "I can do it."

When Erica and I were unwrapping the cake for the baby shower, I was getting the sweats thinking it would be smashed. Something in my gut told me something would be wrong with the cake. And there was. I was fearful I would disappoint Bethenny! Listen, the cake came from a bakery in California (one of Bethenny's favorites) and the overnight carrier was not kind to it. When I pulled the lid off, I mortified that the top had been smashed and little Bryn's face had been ripped off. She was like "Baby of the Opera." So I mustered up the confidence to fix the cake. This was for sure one instance where I did let them see me sweat. But with Erica's help I pulled it together and fixed the cake and Bethenny was never the wiser. I guess that's what I'm talking about. I'm not a pastry chef, but I had the confidence (and watched plenty of cooking shows) to know what to do next.

Seeing Bethenny walk into the baby shower as relaxed as she was, was reward enough for me. She was calm knowing the shower would be fabulous, once again she trusted me. She was able to sit, relax and visit with her friends. It was great to see her like this. This is a woman who isn't able to sit and enjoy a quiet moment because she is always on the go. Which is exactly why she chose Spa Chakra on 5th! There is no better place to have a baby shower than at a spa. It was the perfect! She loved it, said I did a good job and that's all that matters! A client for life? Who knows…only time will tell.

You not only proved yourself to Bethenny but to all over the USA!! Your work is Fabulous just as you are!!! We will be missing you!! but CHEERS to you till the next time we see you!!

Excuse me Bravo TV...could you please get Shawn his own show. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only faithful viewer. LOVE this guy!!!!

You are a doll!!! It was great to see you so confident and able to handle the caketastrophe with ease. Bravo to you. I hope to see you a lot more on BravoTv, you've got the personality and talent for your own show. Picture my fingers crossed for you.

Dear Shawn Rabideau:

You are magnificent and it is understandable why.......your supportive family instilled in you the virtues that you would need to work in life. It is wonderful to read how you give them praise, showing us that they did their job well.

You know, only seeing you on this BGM reality tv show you have shown us such kindness and diligence that one cannot help but admire you. Thank you for your candor and your excellence in your demeanor. Your work ethic is outstanding and impressive. You are a wonderful human being.

Wishing you well as you continue your fine work in pleasing your clients and completing the tasks that they request of you.

signed: SO PLEASE WITH YOUR JOB PERFORMANCE

Shawn, the viewers fell in love with your kindness and integrity, your immense talent, sense of humor and your compassion and understanding of Bethenny. We LOVED "meeting" you on this show. No matter what you do in life that wonderful inner light within you will always assure that you will be very successful. Hopefully; we will get to see much more of you on tv because you have so many people rooting for you. And you bring something else that BRAVO's been lacking lately; CLASS!

All the best,

CajunBelle and family

The baby shower cake was a tad stressful but you pulled it off without a hitch! Kuddos to you! That's what makes a good event planner! Hope to see you on future BGM episodes!?!

Please let us know what the title and artist was of Bethenny's and Jason's first dance at the wedding was. Thanks...adore you!

Shawn, were you a wedding planner on "Whose Wedding is it Anyway?"? I thought I remembered watching you on it and liking you then. You did a great job, good luck in everything you do.

Shawn, you did a fabulous job with Bethennys' wedding and baby shower. Your professionalism was great, but the most memorable thing that I will remember about you is, when you told Bethenny at her wedding to take a deep breath stand and take in the moment before she walked to the man of her life, was so absolutely beautiful.

That moment brought all of her months of stressing, planning, doubts, etc, to a point behind her. You had her look forward,to her new life with a clean slate. I give you huge props for that.

Best of luck to you, and I too think you need your own show!!

Shawn, Your parents should be bursting w/ pride @ having such a talented son. You put together REALLY lovely parties for Bethenny. I'm sure w/ NYC as your backdrop, you've done this before(for every client you've had). Bravo should give you your own show! They could showcase your events. You definitely added your own touch to Bethenny's Show :-) Good Luck

YOu are great, and you are too funny when it comes to dealing with cookie. I love, love, love you. I would love to see more of you on a future show. Bravo:)

Get rid of the DC Housewives and give Shawn a show!

Great Job! I know this is tv and we only got to see some parts of your work, but I was very impressed with the way you handled Bethenny's wedding and how you handled Bethenny! You are a true professional and you deserve your own show. If no when you do get your own show, I promise I will be glued to the set, just like I am with Bethenny!

Oh! And don't be shocked and amazed at your success! You have worked toward this moment your whole career. You could not have pulled any of this off without the sum of your past experiences. You deserve where you are now and I want you to enjoy every moment of it. Think of your success as "when the student is ready the teacher will appear!"

Can't wait to see what you do next! "You better Work it Boy!"

I would definitely watch you, Shawn, if Bravo would produce a show in your area of expertise - event/party planning. There is so much to learn and very few of us can pull off miracles the way you did at both the wedding and the shower. I would love to see a show where you have one lavish over-the-top event, and maybe you could then show how to make it affordable for those of us who must budget, and maybe wrap it up by getting people together for a party who would otherwise not be able to have one (say, marry two people who would like to be married but honestly cannot afford it, or have a party celebrating some aspect of a poor working person's life, like a large retirement party for someone who worked for 40 years but never quite got ahead...AND even delve into the nefarious world of company/corporate parties. Those are always uncomfortable and really can damage a good career. I will watch for you! Enjoy the balance of your summer - Hamptons???

Sean, You were such a great addition to the show. I would love to see a show that focuses on your life as an event planner. I know people would watch because you have such a wonderful personality.

P.S. I loved every scene of you with Cookie. How funny!

Shawn, indeed you are a charecter. You and B were a great match on the show. She is for sure a ball buster and you took it very well! I agree..take of Housewives of DC and give Shawn a show!

Shawn I truly enjoyed watching you! You were so fun and such a treat to the show. I am happy that you had such fun and enjoyed the show also. Hoping the best for you in your career and life in general. Your hard work is amazing and shows true dedication to your craft. Enjoy your summer!!

Shawn -

I just love you too death! I hope Bravo gives you your own show, because I would never miss an episode! Lots of love to you!

I want Bravo to give you your own show planning events of different people at different places all over NYC. C'mon Bravo! Let's go. Shawn is so entertaining, talented and funny. Just do it!

You are ADORABLE! Your emotions are all over your face and I love that! You really made the show great. I especially enjoyed watching you deal with the vicious little Cookie with such grace lol. I'm not sure I could handle a small dog biting my leg off with such poise as you did! I loved watching you and wish you all the success in the world, if I could afford you I would absolutely have you plan my wedding (especially after seeing you help B pee in a trash can).

You are a very likable person. I am really in support of dumping DC and giving Shawn his own show; it would be really interesting to watch events take place. I also would like Bravo to venture out from the coasts, and at least do one Housewives from Chicago! Talk about an interesting, beautiful city! Also, talk about politics. People, you would be entertained! Just watch the news.

I agree with others, get rid of dc housewives and give Shawn his own show. put that elevator guy from pretty women movie and Shawn together and you got a hit show with the faces they make alone.

Baby - you need your own show!!! BRAVO - hello??? are you listening...

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching you this season and truly wish you and yours the best. I hope that you get your own show -

All the best -

LOVE LOVE LOVE, SHAWN! Bravo is missing a golden opportunity if they do not give him his own show. His facial expressions are priceless, and how about a show that isn't fussing all the time, but someone bringing joy to another's life!

Shawn, you were great on the show! You have the perfect temperment for your job, and the results are amazing!!! Rock on!!

Hi Shawn! You came through for Bethenny, planning a wedding in a very short period of time! A wedding that was on national TV, and it turned out perfect! Then the baby shower, again it was perfect! Bethenny really did do you a huge favor by choosing you to be her planner! I can surely believe that all of this is only going to be great for your business, and you've made her a friend probably forever! I'm sure a person in her position will have need of your services in the future! I will truly miss watching you every week!!

Shawn, Not only are you so talented in your field, you are naturally funny and entertaining. I truly hope Bravo is reading these post and gives you a show. Enough of the "housewives" shows..(half of them are not even married) and after awhile, enough is enough. Housewives of DC needs to go and be replaced with "Shawn takes NYC." I hope the expand Bethenny's show, if that is what she wants...as she now has everything she has ever wanted...Love. I absolutely love your facial expressions and watching you interact with everyone. You are a "gift" and I am sure your family is so proud of you. Please, please, BRAVO....give Shawn his own show, remove the phony D.C. wannabees...let us have something to watch with real substance....Shawn and Bethenny!!!!!

I love, love, LOVE Shawn!!!! I agree with the majority on this blog... BRAVO, GIVE SHAWN HIS OWN SHOW..... PLEASE!!!!

I enjoyed watching you on Bethenny's show so much. Bravo should have you make your own show. Your work was awesome. Shawn you deserve your own show. Love you!!! hope to see you soon.....

You are so great! I can definately see you having your own show because your personality is such that you have brains, charisma, and humor and you would be an absolute joy to watch (just like BGM!). Good luck to you, Shawn!

I agree with all the posts, I love your facial expressions and would glady watch a show that you were in. Good Luck with your business!!

Well Done Shawn! You kept your cool with your Bethenny like a true pro! I felt for you when the cake was all damaged at the shower. Your a great guy, and yes, the should give you your own show, I would watch for sure! The best of luck to you!

You are Fabulous!!!!!!!!!

BRAVO TV give him his own show!!!!!!!!!

So, did Bethenney throw herself her own baby shower? I couldn't figure that out from the show, but find it odd if she did, and also sad that she didn't have family or close friends that would offer to host the shower. Is that a NYC thing?

SHAWN! I think you are SO amazing. You make me laugh and I love watching you and Bethenny interact with one another, it's hilarious! I definitely agree that you should get your own show! I would watch it and I'm sure millions of others would too!!

LOVE to see Shawn on his own show, covering the ins and outs of event/party planning. As a corporate type who has planned and continues to plan large scale events, I know how anxiety provoking these events can be! Without the emotional attachment (wedding, shower etc). I agree-NO DC Housewives, bring on Shawn!!

I love your recovery of the cake it shows that you do not crumble under pressure. I just love watching you fix the name and cover the missing frosting on the top of the cake. You are the best. Another successful event, good job.

Shawn, you are a talented, funny and entertaining guy that I just can't get enough of. The dynamics between you and Bethenny are hilarious. And the looks on your face whether something went terribly wrong or wonderfully well are priceless. You keep it real just like the rest of the cast and WE LOVE IT! Your own show is a good idea that I have seen spread on this blog, but I'd hate to see you leave this show. You add a comical force that is so fun to watch. As I said before, and I mean this with all the love and respect I can muster up; You remind me of a cross between PeeWee Herman and Nicholas Cage! That's a compliment!! Bravo to you...great job!

Shawn, I really enjoyed watching you and you are right! You have grown so much and you are much more relaxed. I know great things are in store for you and I hope you fully enjoy each one of them. Cheers to you! -Kathleen

Shawn! You did an amazing job on the wedding and on the baby shower!!

Wow! What a fun spin off Bethenny Getting Married turned out to be with the whole amazing cast. Bravo needs to give the fans what we want--a Shawn Rabideau spin off. Shawn get your agent on the phone with Bravo already!

Bravo - It's time for a NEW look! Drop the nasty drama of RHofNJ and DC and GIVE SHAWN HIS OWN SHOW!

Bravo - Drop the Drama of RHofNJ and DC and and GIVE SHAWN HIS OWN SHOW. If Bethenny Getting Married? Showed you anything, it's that viewers are far more interested in funny, heartfelt programming than the NJ/DC drama that leaves ya' feeling slimed. I can't even watch anymore. SHAWN IS ONE GIGGLE AFTER ANOTHER AND I COULD A LAUGH!!!

Shawn, wherever you go from here or whatever you do, I feel you'll be successful. Ya know, sometimes you "meet" a person and can tell instantly that he or she has a beautiful heart. That's how it was for me seeing B "catch" you on the cotton candy thing. Whatever happens, much happiness and success to you and Michael. You really are special!

Shawn was a blast, he and Bethenny will be friends. He also needs his own show, and I agree with all the bloggers, I watched DC last week, cannot stomach any of those political wannabe's, give Shawn a show, get rid of the housewives, they are so dramatic, we need laughs and giggles.

Shawn,

I just loved meeting and getting to know you on this season. You made me laugh so, so much and I think you are a real sweetheart! The next time I am in NYC, I would love to stop by just to say, "Hi" and tell you how much you are loved.

Sincerely, all the best to you!

Love and Hugs, L

Yes, I would definitely watch Shawn on his own show! Shawn, why didn't you carry mace with you to zap cookie when she tried to bite you? That is above and beyond what a client should expect from you...let the dog bite you...repeatedly? I love watching Bettheny but I would never...I repeat never...work for her. EVER. You did an amazing job!

Shawn, you are funny, talented and cute as a bug!! I know Cookie did not like you, and she bit you several times, I am sorry to say this but I laughed out loud because your reaction each time was priceless!!! You could certainly carry a show!!

BRAVO, give Shawn his own show!!!

I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO HEAR MY EXACT THOUGHTS AS YOU JUST SAID, Bring back Betheny Newly Married With A Baby, and GIVE SHAWN HIS OWN SHOW!!!! Will Bravo listen to us through this feed, or who should we email???

Shawn, you di a wonderful job. I have been thinking about becoming a wedding planner myself now for awhile. I love being around Love, Happiness, and making this happen for people. I would love to be your assistant (I would like to learn from the best). If you could tell me where to get started, I have info on a school IEWP, but I am much more a hands on learner, and would love to work with the best, yea this is probably an out there question, but you don't know if you don't ask or take chances. Again you did great. Hope to see you on the show again.

Show Idea Bravo. Shawn hires an assistant, and you follow all the crazyness that entails on becoming a wedding planner. 1. its a crazy field. 2. which calls for great entertainment. 3. he already needs his own show, great persoonality for tv. 4. Me as the asistant in training. 1. VERY HIGH ENERGY 2. OUTSTANDING PERSONALTY 3. VERY POSITIVE AND OUTGOING, FULL OF WITTYNESS. WHAT DO YA THINK?
