Yesterday was like the first day of school at Bravo as most of the New York staff moved into cushy new digs on the 8th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza (i.e. prime Manhattan real estate). We share the floor with the NBC Fitness Center (Brian Williams on the Stairmaster!) and the SNL Studios (Mya Rudolph's gettin' coffee!). It is VERY prime real estate, indeed.

The view of the rink from the 8th floor!
I love my new office. It looks directly out on the ice skating rink, Saks, and St. Patrick's cathedral. On "All My Children" in the 80s, around the time Erica Kane was a high fashion model (all 5'2" of her), she used to go to the "hottest club in NYC" called "Nexxis." Whenever a scene was set at Nexxis, they'd show an exterior of the Citicorp building. When Oprah did a cameo on AMC (before she was DAME Oprah), the scene was set at Nexxis. I watched AMC (and Nexxis) from my couch in St. Louis and now I can see the Citicorp from my office. I know I'll gaze at the top of that building thinking about Nexxis.

Erica Kane, are you going to Nexxis tonight? Will you ask Kent Bogard to get me on the list? Is it ok if I wear jeans?
I arrived early to set up. I hadn't seen my "office stuff" in over a year as we'd been in temporary space until the 8th floor was ready. I'd come from the cable channel TRIO, so none of my Bravo co-workers had seen my "office stuff" either. I didn't think twice about that factoid until I started unpacking. As it turns out, most of my "office stuff" seems to consist of dolls, toys, and more dolls.
As I happily put Kelly, Beyonce, and Michelle on the top shelf for display, I felt like a king unloading his ransom. What a smart move it was convincing that Sony Marketing guy to send me those darn dolls! Now the girls have broken up and I am sitting on a GOLD MINE. This was pre-house of Dereon, so the trio are still wearing "Say my Name"-era combos all made of the same aqua blue sparkly fabric. (Remember when they used to all wear different outfits made of the same fabric?)

Say MY name!
Next to Destiny's Child I set up the ladies they sing about in "Independent Women: Part 1," the Charlie's Angels Movie dolls. Drew, Cameron, and Lucy make quite a trio. Alone they're rubbish. Together they kick ass.
