I spent the weekend in the Hamptons and there was info flying everywhere. Some of it was handed to me and some came to me like a bolt of lightning. May I share?
** I met Henry Winkler at a party and, after the appropriate amount of time (barely) passed, I came right out with some Fonzie questions. Before I get into any of his answers, I gotta say the guy is a Mensch. In fact, Fonzie is such a first degree mensch that I wondered what kind of pre-teen spacehead I was in St. Louis watching "Happy Days" with no recognition that Winkler was a Semite just like me. It's like that moment you find out your gym teacher was a lesbian and you can't believe there was a time where you thought otherwise. Did our 1977 goyish world fully know what a true blue Jew the Fonz was? Did Mel Gibson hate the Fonz? Does he now? In any case, I got to the real dirt and asked Henry which "Al" he preferred more. He said he loved both "Al's" equally but for different reasons. And that he wasn't crazy about Pinky Tuscadero but he loved her sister, Leather Tuscadero. (Are you with me???) What a mensch! Jon Bon Jovi was also at this party and I will report that his hair is not to be believed in person. Perfection, JBJ!

I learned that Andy Cohen asks the questions we ALL want to know re: Henry's favorite "Al." While I did know he was a Jew, I had no idea he wasn't hot on Pinky Tuscadero. Good stuff.

Andy, as usual a nice job. Your comments on Jessica Simpson are so so right on the mark. What is it about entertainment culture today? We support these no talent celebrities with media coverage and millions of dollars,e.g.Paris Hilton. Yet, people with genuine talent go unrecognized. Is it the media's fault or the lack of taste of the American public? Look forward to your future sharing of your thoughts and opinions.

Speaking of Jew news: Robert Best -- is he or isn't he? Inquiring Jewish mind wants to know.

I love reading you blog and I never realized that daytime soaps never had a Jewish character before.
Say hello to that hunk, Tuc for me.

Okay a couple of things. First, I'm so jealous that you are friends with Tuc Watkins. I think he's great (OLTL, Beggars and Choosers etc.)--great actor, charismatic personality, incredibly good-looking. Oy!
Secondly, OLTL has always had Jewish families, at least in name. The Siegel's were a very prominent family at the beginning of the series, and the Rappaports more recently. It always bothered me that the Rappaports went to the Episcopal church--I think OLTL missed a big opportunity there. Nora Hannon Gannon Buchannon has always been portrayed as Jewish.
Thanks for the entertainment, Andy.

Speaking of Fonzie, Project Runway fans hope that the show does not have its own "jump the shark" moment this season.
Manufactured drama is a sure ticket to those infested waters. Please avoid the temptation Andy!
