Can you imagine Sir Tim Gunn, V-Bert (Val Bertinelli), and Sanjaya at a dinner table? People magazine could, and they threw the trio of pop culture icons in a mixmaster and hosted them at Saturday's White House Correspondent's Dinner.
I woke up in Miami Sunday after an endlessly entertaining (and actually endless) "Top Chef" Judges' Table shoot the night before with one thing on my mind: getting the scoop from Tim. I immediately grabbed my cell.
Sir Tim delivered, immediately railing on Sanjaya. He said that, though his hair was "a little less exuberant than normal ... he looked like he belonged with Spanky on 'Our Gang'!"

It is nice to hear that Sanjaya is enjoying his moment in the sun. However, he should think about completing his education so that he will be able to support himself in case his questionable singing career does not get off the ground. You and Tim Gunn should not be speaking ill of the president. If anything, you should be critical of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi who are guilty of demoralizing the troops and giving aid and comfort to our enemies.

If Sanjaya's date was his mom, who was Tim's date?

Who on earth is Sanjaya and why should we care? Bravo gets more superficial by the week, becoming less about talent and more about celebrity, thus losing its niche IMHO. I fondly remember the days when Bravo aired The South Bank Show and had performers other than movie stars on Inside the Actor's Studio. That sort of cultural relevance is eeking away. Pffffft!

You have to give Sanjaya some credit. He figured out how get noticed at an age when most kids can't get out of their own way. At least Tim had Valerie Bertinelli to diversify his dining experience.

Sounds like the queen didn't like being upstaged by the hot young prince. Jealous much, Tim?
God forbid right now that a 17 year old act his age. From what I've seen this kid has more natural charm and poise than most celebrities ever learn and lord has he been tested. Most people don't take the abuse in a lifetime that he's seen in a few short months.
I think Sanjaya is incredible--he gives me hope for the next generation.

Mr. Gunn,
All this talk about Sanjaya, what about Eddie Izzard? Was he not a guest at your table as well? I believe he is much more interesting than Sanjaya.

LOL... this is why i read this blog.
And, I still think Sanjaya owes Stern a HUGE thank you for making him a household name if only for a month. If he worked it right, it could almost be a career.
