Last night's episode of "Work Out" was chilling. It was amazing watching Jackie navigate her emotional trip home, seeing her mom openly take pride in her and then watching her finally let go at her dad's grave. But it was the final scene that was absolutely, gutturally devastating.I am speaking of the trainers getting the news that Doug was in serious jeopardy and could pass away within 24 hours.

I can't watch Peeler get that news. It brings back very clearly the awful, shocking moment when everything turned for the worst.

Lots of people have been asking about what really happened with Doug and about the time line of his death. I believe that Brian Peeler posted the specifics in his blog a few weeks ago but I want to reiterate two things.

Thank you for your post Andy. It really brings it all to light for us.
We can tell just from the show how loved Doug was and we feel it out here in TV world too!

Thanks again :)

You call that a tribute. You gave him about two minutes in a show which I wouldn't have minded so much had you know chosen to hype the episode as a tribute episode. Doug deserved better. So disappointed

I must say that I was completely shocked by Doug's death. I am glad that the picture I have in my mind of him is a healthy, vibrant, smiling person, as that is how he wanted to be remembered. I also understand that we, as viewers, do not actually know the people on the show. But, because we tune in each week and bring them into our dens, it does feel like a personal loss. My heart goes out to the whole gang and in particular, Peeler. I also pray for Doug's partner who was with him until the end. It was obvious that there was still a lot of emotion between the two of them and I know his loss is difficult to process. You are all in my prayers.

Thanks Andy for the information on Doug. From watching the show, I really fell in love with Doug's sincerity and kindness. He made everyone ay Sky Sports felt special and loved, even the clients. It is sad for him to die at such a young age. I really choked up a bit when he talked about his parents at his birthday party and how he would surpass their age. I am really shocked about his death. I will miss him on the show. Cheo an Peeler were good friends of his and I just hoped that one of them was with him when he died. Rest In Peace Doug.

I love the show but was so disappointed last night when there was only 4 or 5 minutes at the end of the show regarding Doug. It was not a tribute at all and I was in utter shock. It disturbed others that I know watch the show as well and they say they will never watch the show again. Doug appeared to be a good man and an important impact on the show and he deserved better.

YOU KNOW THERE IS NOTHING I CAN SAY THAT IS GOING TO MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER OR EASE YOUR PAIN. I MEAN I COULD SAY SOME BULL STUFF LIKE BE HAPPY HE IS WITH GOD AND HIS FAMILY NOW BUT THEN YOU WOULD SAY WHAT ABOUT US DON'T WE DESERVE HIM TOO AND YOU WOULD BE RIGHT. I THINK ITS TERRIBLE THE WAY HE DIED AND EVERYONE DESERVES THAT PRIVATE PART OF THEIR LIFE BUT NOT WHEN IT CAN KILL YOU. YOU NEED SHARE YOUR HEALTH WITH ATLEAST ONE PERSON IN CASE OF AN IMARGANCY. I THINK THAT HE WAS FUNNY AND AN INTELLIGENT HUMAN BEING NOT TO MENTION SWEET AND CUTE. ASHAME HE WAS GAY. WOOPS. SOMEONE YOU EITHER LOVED OR HATED NOT IN BETWEEN. SEEMED LIKE MOST PEOPLE LOVED HIM. I THINK THE WIERD PART OF THIS IS ITS LIKE HE KNEW IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. THAS KINDA SCARY.
YOUR GOING TO HATE ME FOR SAYING THIS BUT MIND YOU I THINK THAT ITS UNFAIR THAT DOUG DIED I ALSO THINK ITS A PART OF LIFE. ONE HAS TO DIE FOR ONE TO BE REBORN.

I really wish you would devote an episode entirely to Doug. It may not have been what he wanted, but it's what he deserves.

Even though I heard about Doug's passing earlier in the year, I still felt major sadness watching this episode. I couldn't stop crying.

Sure, we don't really know Doug in real life, but it felt like a loss nonetheless.

Wishing his ex-partner, friends, coworkers, clients, and other loved ones the very best (especially you Peeler!). You guys were so lucky and blessed to have had such a wonderful and compassionate human being in your lives.

I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in the " TRIBRUTE EPISODE". How was your ratings for this last episode? How was this a TRIBRUTE to Doug? You gave him what.............maybe 2 minutes in the beginning of the show and 5 minutes at the END OF THE SHOW. He deserved so much more.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Doug's family and friends.

From what I saw, the tribute to Doug is next weeks show. I'm looking forward to it.
I fell in love with Doug this season and was devastated by the news. Its just too unbelievable, particularlity since he had a sense of forboding with his family/parents history.
God Bless you, Doug.

I'm sorry did you say that was a "tribute episode" to Doug? Sure didn't seem like it to me. Doug seemed like the type of person we all pray to have in our lives wether it is a friend, a lover, a child.... he seemed so full of life inspite of his family history, he always wore a smile on his face and you could see the kindness ooze out of him. I beleive you owe him so much more, you should dedicate an entire show for him, he deserves it. My sincerest sympathy to Dougs closest friends, it must be devastating to loose such a wonderful and unique person. For the viewers, we are all lucky to have seen and somewhat known him. He has broken the "reality TV" type and I just wish he was still here to watch. Although I only knew Doug from the show, I will miss him and his contagious smile. May you have Peace.
