Yo my bruthas and sistahs -- don't forget a special "Top Chef" tonight. It's the "4 Star All Stars" as the final four from Season One take on Season Two's finalists. It's a smackdown, battle royale cookoff for charity and bragging rights. And it's for charity. And it's insane. Ok? I am gonna celebrate good food and "Top Chef" tonight with dinner at Harold's white hot restaurant, Perilla.
Last night I had dinner at another hotspot, the Waverly Inn, with some friends who are also former colleagues from CBS News. They still work there, which explains our loooong conversation about what is in the water at CBS that turns top notch broadcasters like Bryant Gumbel and Katie Couric into national pariahs. I have only fond memories of working there, but I have to wonder what the hell happens when America's beloved get to West 57th Street and are suddenly blacklisted?! What is it?! I will never get it. Katie Couric could do no wrong until she crossed town.

Bravo would have done itself better to bring Rocco's mother onto the show rather than her son.

Yo - I ain'tcho brutha. Fabulous cousin perhaps.
Ok, whadduya mean Katie could do no wrong? She has been an annoying little chihuahua for several years now. Was glad she was being replaced by Meredith, had no intention of watching her on the nightly news. Why not Diane? Or Meredith? Or keep Bob Scheifer a few more years?
It seems to me that CBS picks all flash and no substance so that when people are put in a harsher spotlight all the flaws show up.
We need to hear all about Perilla! I'm dying to go.
Note to the person going to see Kathy in Akron - Pleeeease tell me that she's going to perform at Grace Cathedral. The confluence of Ernest Angely and Kathy Griffin boggles the mind!! And would make one heckuva Bravo show! Andy, make a note.

This show tonight was a master stroke.
I must admit, after the debacle you called 'season 2' I was on the fence about being able to stomach a similar exhibition, again.(Season 1 was awesome)
Season 1, is all class & tonight proved it; they won in the kitchen & on a personal level . Season 1 chefs displayed the maturity & professionalism one expects in a kitchen.Tiffany has grown in a good way, good to see
I was amused when Marcel tried to 'push buttons' on the season 1 team, Harold put him in his place. Marcel has grown some( a little) when he accepted responsibility for a wrong/poor choice of words (his usual MO) I am convinced he uses that technique to take the focus off the quality of cooking; an area he is clearly lacking in ( I still remember the raw chicken wing )
It was refreshing to view a one show competition, with a winner, & especially very little drama.
I am a professional chef, & I hope season 3 represents my profession, accurately & without the unnecessary personal attacks
Bravo to you Andy, I will be watching

It was NBC and her own PR people that made Katie Couric SEEM like she could do not wrong. It not only fooled CBS ... she fooled herself into thinking she is more than she really is. Most of Mom and Pop America can't stand her or her celebrity status. Unfortunately, even if she falls from her tower, she will land softly on a huge pile of money.
