Tonight is the debut of a Bravo special with the greatest and bravest title of any TV show I can recall in my 39 years of TV-Fandom. I am speaking, of course, of the Kathy Griffin stand-up tour de force, "Everybody Can Suck It".
The never mundane business of TV has recently been made exciting in meetings anytime Bravo Programming EVP Frances Berwick has to refer to "Everybody Can Suck It". And her elocution of said title made the upfront a gas.
Of course, the stand up special is followed by the Season 3 premiere of Kathy's Emmy Nominated "Life on the D List". And Kathy may have to change her name of the show to "Life on the B List" soon given how white hot she is right now. She's on "The View" three times this week.
Last night I went to the premiere of a film starring Vanessa Redgrave that has been her passion project for years and years. My pal Jason Blum produced it for HBO Films. It's called "The Fever" and it's based on the Wally Shawn play about a privileged person's relationship with (and responsibility to) people less fortunate. That's a crap logline of a complex topic, but it's about class and race and guilt and responsibility and rich and poor.

I can't wait to see Kathy. I'll have to delay watching though as she's coming to my town in a couple of days. I don't want to spoil new material by watching on TV first.
Ok, do I have to start recording The View again? Dang.... just when I got 5 hours of my life back per week. Well, 3 hours and 25 minutes thanks to commercial zapping. Every time I see Kathy on The View I think about her talking about Barbara's head recoiling from something Kathy had said. Love that white-hot girl.

Going to see Kathy Sat night here in Akron - can't wait! Have an extra ticket, if you want to do the Akron instead of the Hamptons. Wondering if "suck it" is going to be the same as show I will be PAYING to see - want it to be fresh. opinions?
Andy, this longtime, loyal Andy blog reader, would love to meet Kathy (and pet her hair like she did to Celine) any tips? remember, it's for the children.

I don't watch Kathy Griffin, but I am a fan of Angelina Joli (Tomb Raider) and her father Jon Voight, the Midnight Cowboy.
