Good morning from Los Angeles. People from LA keep telling me how beautiful the weather is here right now. They're right, but big whoop, I say! It's fall in NYC - what's better than that? Anyway, it's all good as we careen to a global water crisis wherever we may live. (That's my big fear, no more aqua.)
ANYWAY... Set your alarms for this afternoon when I will be taking your calls (I hope) live on World of Wonder's web show "Ring my Bell"! It's absolutely live today at @ 11AM - 12PM Pacific (2PM - 3PM Eastern). Call me on 323-603-6312 and watch live on the web at www.ringmybell.tv. I will be sitting there praying the phone rings and I will answer anything about anything. Put it in your calendar so you'll have something to do on today at your desk!
Speaking of things to do at your desk, I went to opening night of "The Receptionist" on Tuesday night at the Manhattan Theater Club, and the play about the receptionist is haunting my ass still! The play was directed by my pal Joe Mantello, who, with this and "The Ritz" and another play in January, has potential Tonys and Obies stacked up like planes landing at JFK! If you thought his direction of "Wicked" was a Halloween classic, Joe delivers a big spooky winner with "The Receptionist", a 70 minute tome that unfolds like a normal day at the office that turns into a horror show. Oh, Joe!

Andy the Vanity Fair story I liked was about how the media villified Gore in 2000 while giving Bush carte blanche for being a good ole boy. How the tables have turned, e tu Maureen Dowd?
Hope you have some time for LA R&R, will you be visiting the OC? Be sure and slap some sense into that baseball brat.

Hi Andy, nice chatting with you today. Keep up the blog and all your hard work. It's appreciated because you have a view the pop culture world that many of us do not. Your "real" viewpoint is refreshing.
I haven't read the latest VF yet (I get it from my mom after she is done with it). Can't wait to read it now. VF is one of my fav. magazine cause the stories are long and detailed, until People or US Weekly. Have a great weekend.
