It's a dramatic "Real Housewives" tonight as Tamra celebrates her 40th birthday and, on the eve of her fairy tale wedding, Lauri takes the situation with her son Josh into her own hands. Dramarama, people!
You may have heard that yesterday we officially announced the identities of "The Real Housewives of New York City". I am really excited about this show. These women are as NYC as our other ladies are OC. Do you get me? Click HERE to see them.
In yesterday's blog, which is probably corrected by now, I mentioned that Elijah Kelley is starring as "Speed Racer" in the new Warner Bros. film. I MEANT to say Emile Hirsch, the outstanding star of my fave movie "Into the Wild". Coincidentally, I loooved Elijah Kelley from "Hairspray". He was "Seaweed" and he was so freaking good in "Run and Tell That". Just wanted to clear that up.

I thought NBC/GE/Bravo had a big thing recently about being "green." And here you are taking cabs to work in the city with the best public transportation in the country.
Shame, shame, shame.

Hi Andy!!
What's this thing against Jessica Simpson?? Okay, so she'll
never win a Nobel Prize but she certainly is hot. And this
coming from a gay guy!
No comment on the Golden Globes...Show/News Conference/
Whatever It Is This Year.....?
Queen Oprah (Winfrey) now owns her own network.
Why doesn't she just buy the United States and get it over with?

Hi Andy,
I just wanted to say first that I am a huge fan of several Bravo programs. My number 1 favorite being "The Real Housewives of Orange County." However, with the introduction of the new Housewives of New York I have a major issue. There aren't any minorities on the OC version or the new version in New York. Initially I thought well maybe because Jo was on the first couple of seasons and Tammy is Mexican they feel that's enough, but now with the New York show coming on with no minority representation I have to say I am confused. I know for a fact that there are rich, successful, Latina, Black, Asian, etc women in the OC and NY. So why not have at least one on the show??? I don't understand and feel very hurt by this. I honestly can not see myself supporting this new series with the lack of minority representation. I truly hope you aim to alleviate this problem.... because trust me it is a problem.
A Loyal/Concerned Fan,
Shana

More ethnic and racial minority representation please! Presenting such a homogenized view of wealth and who it encompasses is a disservice to NY, plausibly the most diverse state per capita, in the world, as well as a disservice to the heterogenous viewers that tune in to Bravo for high caliber of reality TV escapist fare during the writers' strike. I have family in Manhattan whom respresent accomplished, successful, young, wealthy, African American contemporary lives a lot of viewers would enjoy seeing- regardless of race. It is inspiring to see success in all shades and orientations on the world stage that is TV. Race is not a factor until it's completely ommitted as a variable. Please consider diversifying your future housewife panels.

Hmmm...not sure whether this NY Housewives show will be of interest to me. For me, the appeal of the OC version is the SoCal scenery (used to live there) and the over-the-top lifestyle....these people are in their own little materialistic and plastic world. Well, depending on when the NY show is on, I'll probably check it out...
Funny that poster above doesn't get the Jessica Simpson/Cowboys connection!

I can't wait until Real Houswives of New York City airs.
Educated, intelligent and truly wealthy ladies doing things that are of value. I'm pretty sure we won't see spray on orange tans, fake boobs or botox. It won't have the same train wreck appeal as RHOOC or have the goldigger "I think I'm pretty and I deserve it" slant.
Bravo to Bravo!
