I assume you all are smarting from last night's episode of "Real Housewives of New York City". I loved it. Them at dinner at Nellos? Classic. One of the things I like about that show, that you may or may not realize, is that the ladies are frequenting very iconic NYC spots. They're shopping at Scoop, they're eating at Nellos, they're at Bryant Park for the fashion shows, opening night of the Met, and on and on. I am so glad they got permission to shoot everywhere. This is a very real slice of a very particular Manhattan lifestyle.

Check out "Top Chef Chicago" tonight to see a very real slice of the reality cooking competition lifestyle. It's a great one with Rick Bayless as guest judge. We went to Bayless' Frontera Grill a lot during shooting. I have a hazy memory of my last time there featuring Tom, Padma, Gail, my sister and many many many tequilas. Oh hey if you have 9 minutes on your hands and would like to watch Liza and I discuss TOP CHEF: THE COOKBOOK, please click HERE.

Saw the show for the first time yesterday. Must have watched about 3 - 4 hours worth. Now as interesting as it is, come one let's be realistic. The majority of housewives that are probably watching this show don't frequent Nello's for lunch or Bryant Park for fashion shows and certaintly don't go on $40,000 shopping trips. In my opinon if you want a real show you need to have realistic housewives that have better things to do than go to the hamptons and impress their friends and waste hard earned money on nanny's instead of spending time with their own children. Don't get me wrong some of them seem real and seem as if they appreciate life for what it is but the majority of the women are snobby and could use a dose of reality.
