Last night we taped the A-LIST AWARDS at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC for air next Thursday on Bravo after the premiere of Kathy Griffin's "My Life on the D List".
It was not your typical awards show. The awards were not awarded to Bravo talent, rather to the best in the fields Bravo represents - food, fashion, beauty, pop culture, and design. It, like Bravo itself, was very "high" and very "low". Yes we rewarded the best chef and great design, but we also handed out trophies for "rear of the year" and "A-List Drama Queen".
Kathy Griffin was HILARIOUS and very bawdy. And looked great. She opened the show with a Marc Shaiman number that perfectly set the tone for the night. Margaret Cho and Rachel Dratch were standouts in the show as well for me, as well as a charity fashion show with dress designs by "Project Runway" alum that will be auctioned off at Bravotv.com to benefit UNICEF.
CAB REPORT: how is it possible that the legroom in cab 2E92 seems to go on for miles and miles? I could've stowed a small family at my feet. My Haitian cabbie loves blasting 1010 WINS and had a poor time understanding what I meant by "turn it down" but somewhere around 40th Street we came to an agreement.

Hi Andy
Rachel Dratch is an all time fave. She never disappoints. And it is not that I have anything against Jane K, I just wish Tina Fey could have cast Rachel in 30 Rock. She is just the right amout of crazy and she hits the mark everytime. Can't wait till next week AND the OC meets NYC video
Love ya

Hey Andy--
Love your blogs - especially the cab reports! How come no discussion of Workout from you lately? What gives? One more episode left and you haven't spoken about it in forever.
Excited that Kathy Griffin is back - LOVE LOVE her! Almost as much as that vixen Rebecca from Workout. They're close.
So what'cha got on Workout, brother?
Thanks,
JP

You are sooo cute!!! How about holding a "CELEBRITY TOP CHEF". Invite Rachel Ray, Ted, Tom, Paula Deen, Mario Battali, Alton Brown, Cat Cora, Rocco Dispirito, Bobby Flay, Ina Garten and Sara Moulton. The show does not have to be 8 weeks long, but it would increase ratings and they can play for charity. It would make for intersting tv to see the different personalities collaborate.
