Amusement Park Madness

Kids are adrenaline junkies. That's why I get along so well with them. I love the fact that my 5 year old niece Bailey adores amusement parks.

She's just like her Uncle that way. When she was a teensy 3 year old she climbed onto the Legoland Water Trampoline. She jumps up and down, she wipes out, then she just laughs, dusts herself off and did it all over again.

Now she wants the fastest and craziest rides they'll let her on. No Disneyland "Teacups" or "It's a Small World" For Her." We'll be on an honest to goodness rollercoaster and she'll wind up comforting me. It happened on Seaworld on the Atlantis Roller Coaster. When the ride broke mid-cycle leaving us hanging mid-air. Bailey just giggled as we held on and made up songs to pass the time. It was what my Mommalou did with me when she needed to distract me. It worked. Bailey never knew something was wrong with the ride. As soon as we got ourselves free she wanted to do it all over again. No way.

Yeah! I'm so happy you got to go on the BTTF ride again before it closed. Bailey is adorable and so are you :)

Bryan,
This one time "adrenaline junkie" remembers a day at Canada's Wonderland (just outside of Toronto), when she also invited her uncle to test gravity and his nerves. Well sorta. My Uncle Angelo was always up for a challenge and dared me to ride the most monstrous rollercoaster in the park. Now I was nowhere near as brave as Bailey, and I was double her age. But I wasn't about to reveal my cowardice and figured it might be blast! Needless to say, I survived that heart in my throat experience, but haven't repeated it since. Because until this day, I'm still not too sure who screamed louder. However, I do know that I picked up the more colourful side of the Italian vocabulary, courtesy of my lovable Uncle.
And yes, children are spendid for oh so many reasons. But the simplest one is their uninhibited authenticity.

  1. Keep it clean. You're a Bravo fan, you know better words than most TV audiences.
  2. Avoid using ALL CAPS! (It’s like screaming...)
  3. We don't post e-mail addresses or phone numbers.
  4. Have a good time. We love that you love the blogs.
