Which are you in? Tall with heels? Flat and practical? The ankle boot? Unlike season’s past, it seems like just about anything goes this year. So how then do you choose?
For me, it comes down to two things: Is the boot comfortable, and is it stylish. With the vast array of choices, this seems like simple criteria to satisfy. But after weeks of boots shopping, my closet is filled with last year’s scuffed versions or boots that kill my feet after four blocks and are thus un-scuffed because I never wear them.
As I perused my local Bloomingdales, the mission was clear. I wanted a pair of boots that I could wear with both skirts and jeans, and that would allow me to walk without pain. I do not want six pair of boots. I want one pair (maybe two) that will work as well at the office as they do at Sunday morning brunch.

The world's most perfect boot is Steve Madden's Royaltyy. It dresses up or down and is as comfortable as a sneaker. It fits both my wide calves and my friend's little chicken calves!

I have had great success with Zappo's.com. I am a large woman with wide calves and have difficulty finding comfortable boots that fit my calves. Ros Hammerskold boots on Zappo's were my answer and I wear them with jeans and skirts. Zappo's is a great resource and they have a 1 year return policy and a pre-paid return sticker is included if you need to return them.
