Remember the days when film sirens smoldered up the screens in only black, white and all of the tonalities possible in between? You never knew exactly what color they were wearing, but darn if they didn’t look good. (If this doesn’t seem familiar, get thee to Netflix and put Casablanca, Roman Holiday and All About Eve in your queue. Trust me.) But soon the world was thrown into Technicolor, with all of it’s saturated shades of salmon, saffron and cerulean. And we never looked back. Until now.
If the fashion of the Golden Globes can be seen as looking into your own crystal ball, forecasting what you’ll be wearing this spring and summer, there’s only one thing to really look for: black and white. And if you think about it, black and white, unlike other colors, look good on every complexion. They’re both equally at home during a very important board meeting as they are playing on the boardwalk.
