Dear Tim,
I wrote to you about your connection to the Cocoran (sic?) in DC. What did you think of Jackie Kennedy's White House Years exhibit a few years ago? I LOVED it! What were your favorite outfits? Also, what do you think of middle aged women dressing up for Halloween? I dressed up as always, but I wondered if I am now too old at 50! Not sexy, I was Jackie O. You were THE best thing about PR! Thanks

There is an old (hopefully not hackneyed) expression that says 'Whatever does not kill us makes us stronger'. Sometimes the experiences that are the most emotionally painful, administered by the people that we would least expect to betray our innocent trust and and naivete, are gifts in disguise. The paper on the package might be hideous, the contents might be malodorous and the box leaking, but it is meant as a gift, none the less. Your continuing love for Bill reflects that soul understanding. You are the person you are today, and that experience was one of the mysterious defining moments that lead to the Road Less Travelled. Continue that journey with the grace and beauty you appear to exhibit each and every day...

Tim,
my 11 yr old thinks that you are great and loves the "make it work" line even when they have no clue how to make it work. i caught my self using it the other week when she told me she couldnt do something for school. i just really wanted to say that i think its great what you do and thanks for it. i know it sounds silly, but its one show that we both can sit down to and connect on. as for your interview that i got to read and learn some more about you, we all have paths we must follow, some good some bad, but all for reasons that make us better in the long run and we never see them to its too late. hang in there and take the path that speaks the loudest to you, its normally the right one.
thanks again krissy

HI Tim:
I recently earned my credential in Single Subject English/Language arts in California, and I appreciate your use of the English language and how often you used your wonderful vocabulary on PR. Moreover, I wanted to tell you that I borrowed your "make it work" line and received a appreciative laughter from my class that I was subbing when I told them the following. "We have only 50 minutes together, and that's not a lot of time, so in the words of Tim Gunn on Project Runway, "' Make it work."
Also, I love to make clothes, and I am far from the model size of zero. Project Runway has helped me think out of the box, and I recently finished a duster made of a soft fuzzy animal print drapery which has turned out better than anything I have every made before. I did use a pattern as the base, then I modified it to be I wanted it to be. My 13 year old daughter was very impressed.

I graduated from the Fashion Design Dept of Parsons in 2000, right before Tim Gunn became the Chair of the Fashion Dept and I would like to say.
Tim, I wish you came earlier! The school has become so much hipper and "cooler" and popular. Thank you for creating such wonderful environment! I am proud to be teaching an Accessory Design class to Fashion Design Seniors!
I want to be helpful to future designers, so I started a website for all Fashion students to help them find what they need to make their dreams come true.

Hi Tim.. You are wonderful. I think you make the show work. I enjoy all the tips you give the desigers and I even made me a T-Shirt with the saying" OK. Let's make it work". I say that to myself everytime I get stressed out. "Make it work. I watch very little TV but I never missed a Project Runway Show. I was hoping Jeffery would win. I feel he can do some serious designing with his imagination. I can not wait for the next season. Thank You. Bonnie

Dear Tim,
What a great interview with you by Instinct! The combination of expectation to read what answers you had for the interviewer's questions and the echo-memory of your wonderful, authoritative, and confident voice in the article's quotes and summaries, made it the one thing on a web site I have read the most thoroughly, over and over again to take in what I imagine your voice and gestures would be. It is only a shame there isn't a video interview to go with this. America (and America's teachers) need you, your spirit, your method, your grace, and your respect for students and the creative process. GEEZ, I can't say enough. I really like watching what you and the team are able to get from the wellspring of talent that has presented on Project Runway. I am sorely sorry to have missed your Seattle appearance, and as a textile designer for knits, former Fashion Design instructor of the Art Institute of Seattle, and a traveling seminar presenter, I would have loved to talk shop with you.
PS: In the Instinct article, it was indicated that you are working on a book of advice for women concerning fashion...Any chance there'll also be a book with fashiong advice and information for men, something to update and style the men of America for the 21st Century? Please?
All the very best for your upcoming endeavors. Morgan

Hi Tim....I just finished reading the article in INSTINCT...wow!!! I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed Project Runway and your input. You really were meant to teach. I am a "wearable art" designer and I also teach workshops, so I really appreciate your abilities. Many people are talented, but it truly takes a "shepherd" to guide them into being all they can be. As a sometime teacher, I truly love watching your relationships with designers grow and flourish, and I think, how lucky they are to have that connection and opportunity. Keep up the grat work and I am anxiously awaiting the new season1 Thank you so much, Karen R.

Hi Tim,
I was tickled to see you in People's Sexiest Man Alive issue. You were right not to go the Gustav Von Aschenbach route... I predict a much happier fate for you.
Having been through something similar, I was moved to read about your relationship nadir in the Instinct article, how you grew from it and channeled your deep caring into mentoring.
I think one of the reasons PR is so successful is that it shows people taking their (probably painful) life experiences and letting it fuel them into making something out of nothing. And you're there to encourage and keep them moving forward.
I will look forward to your fashion tips for us women book. Long may you wave!
