First of all, congratulations! How do you feel about winning?
I feel great about it. I feel like a winner.
Are you at all surprised by the outcome?
Good question. I think I’m used to being surprised when I win things. Through the show, I was actually surprised when I won any of the challenges. I don’t necessarily expect people to get what I do. But I worked really hard, I know what I’m doing, I have my vision and I know how to execute it. And when I showed up and saw the other collections, I thought, “Whoa, I might actually win.”
Do you feel that there is a side of you that viewers missed?
There’s a whole lot to me that people will miss. And I think that of all the other designers, too. None of us are one-dimensional. But I’m a very grateful person, I’m very compassionate. I’m really nice, actually. I have a shrewd side and I have a competitive side and there wasn’t room for all of me on the show. I don’t blame it on editing.
I just think, you know, I did what I wanted to do, I said what I wanted to say, I knew what I was doing and saying. I really set out to create this sort of polarizing character. You know? I wanted to be an underdog. I said to my family when I left, I’m going to go and be an underdog. I wanted people to hate me. I’m going to bring this hand buzzer, these stupid tricks. I want people to look at me as this character who is so full of himself that he doesn’t know that these things aren’t funny. And hate that about me.

Do you, or do you anticipate, designing for women like myself who are well beyond their twenties, and are in dire need of a refreshing and innovative look that so many designers can't seem to deliver?

Hi Jeffrey,
I want to tell you that I was rooting for you all the way from day 1. I have the same problem with anyone who talks about thinking "outside the box". It is called Imagination and boxed up thoughts are a statement for lack of imagination. You exhibited your insight and creativity from the first. And your designs are spectacular.
Darlene IS a classic passive/aggressive and I am stunned that nobody else saw it! She tried to manipulate you at the same time she was underestimating your talent and insulting your intelligence. I thought you went rather light on her.
When Uli told Laura she "won" because she made you cry, she instantly went on the defense when it was plain to me that making you cry was her ideal outcome. Whatever would weaken you was her goal. Had she paid attention she lavished on you to herself, she may have come further along. You handled yourself in a noble manner, besides producing one of the most intriguing collections in years.
I do wish you'd extrapolate on Vincent's craziness, though. I am so very happy for you, and proud of you as well. You are truly a renaissance man.

Hurray for Jeffrey! He's the genuine article and most creative designer. Laura came off as a competitive jealous snake, and through his astute sense, Jeffrey saw through it. Hi Jeff,
First, congratulations. I thought your collection was amazing. I also liked your choice of music at the fashion show.
I wish you were less angry and accepted responsibility for your actions and your words. You made several comments that were offensive to me and felt sexist. I wonder how many potential clients were put off by you referring to Laura as a feminazi early in the competition. I wish Laura had not voiced her suspicions of your collection. However, have you considered that the hostility you showed towards Laura, Angela and her mother may have created doubts about your credibility? Because you are so obviously talented, and I admire you for getting clean and sober, please give yourself and others a break. Life is good. You've been blessed in many ways. Hold onto your bliss and enjoy your success. You don't need that anger to succeed you have talent.
Sorry for the preaching. Thanks for a great season. I'll miss watching you and the other contestants each week. I look forward to seeing your clothing in the future.

I loved all of the work and I believe that this is the best season yet for talent. I must say Michael was a favorite of mine personality wise during the show. He was just always saying something funny and loved his clothing. After hearing Jeff's story and learning of his challenges in life I had such an admiration for him. What an example that you can do anything you set your mind to and for that I commend him greatly. I only wish that he had let us see a little of the warmer side you see with his family during the show. It is very touching to see how much he loves them!
Laura and Uli were wonderful to watch and I enjoyed all of their fashions as well. Being 48 years old I really like Laura's, but also with being that age, Uli's clicked with me too since it reminded me of the 60's-70's days.

Jeff, Congratulations!! I was stunned at what I saw coming down the runway. You hold true to yourself, and I am so happy for your achievement.
As far as Laura goes: she had to do something to stir things up. I feel she saw you as having the advantage of having a separate workplace, without the distractions I'm sure she struggled with ( think many screaming boys!!) She may have been feeling very threatened. Being pregnant again while trying to pull off this huge challenge must have been such a drain on her. I do admire her strength and perseverance, and her sense of integrity. What I think she missed was the fact that you possess these qualities also.
I am so glad that your roommate found you that awful day... the loss to ( future) fashion would have been inestimable.

Yes he's edgy... but you know that comment at the end of the show that says "the producers have input into the final decision"? Well, this my friends is the Fantasia Barrino of Project Runway... the "CinderFella" so to speak. It is good for ratings and edging. And although top designs go out on limbs on the runway, what happens is that it translates to what women will wear. There were only two designers last night that you could say every piece were wearable. Uli and Laura. And to say that Jeffrey's collection was "cohesive"? Are you kidding me? Both blue dresses were butt-ugly. He has hits and misses... but who out there wouldn't die to wear the women's lines? Let's pick a designer that actually could run a company and BE the next Michael Kors... not the next "project Jay". A designer and a CEO. Laura was honestly the only one capable... but choosing a 42 year old, straighter laced, mom just doesn't bode well for ratings, does it? So sad. I believe she will end up over-acheiving and being the most successful. Power to her. My sister had been a Jeffrey fan... when we saw the show last night we were soooo disappointed in his collection... and Michaels. Uli's was an incredible surprise. I thought she was not capable of that level of design and I ate my words. Laura, you go out there and do your "thing". It's what REAL WOMEN want to wear - and I'm blessed to be 6' 1" and it's what I want to wear. We're not talking grandmas folks... hip, cool women who want clothes to look good on us. Not just sit on our body like a potato sack like Jeffreys seemed to do. (That's why there were no adjustments made). Hang in there Laura.... and Jeffrey, you're a talented guy, but not ready for the real world. God Bless you all and Good luck!

I watch with a group that has grown to 20 of us, and we all agreed... WE had mMchael picked before the runway show... was he a flop!!! But from the patchwork bathrobe gown to the mall jet set ourfit, and yes 2 of us went to the mall and was able to get a sequined t-shirt, purple fake leather jacket that was too small, and black pants, was even able to get the stick on rhinestones at the dollar store, and recreate the outfit for 60 bucks FYI. Congratulations to Jeffrey, Uli, Michael and Laura for what really was an impressive finale show with four quality collections. I know there will be a lot of griping about your win Jeffrey, buy you know the win is well deserved. Sure, even in my head, it was a close call, but the first thought that to me after all four collections had come down the runway was...'it's gotta be Jeffrey, his was a cohesive, fashion forward collection...and this is a design show after all. The others had some great pieces, but none of them matched Jeffrey's vision'.
So I was really pleased when the judges announced your name. A lot of people just don't seem to get what you do. But you are a true artist...innovative, creative...hell maybe even a little crazy!...but a design show should reward innovation and vision, so once again, so glad that you won.

I'm 50 and not skinny so does the fashion world just ignore 50% of the female population with the clothes we need to wear? Laura made some incredible outfits that were feminine, beautiful and made very well. Michael totally gets the female body, and Uli had some really neat ideas. Also I agree with Laura on his work ethic. How is it he had absolutely nothing to do the entire time everyone else was primping and adjusting their outfits.

I am happy that Jeffrey won, however I think he is kidding himself that he was not mean to Angelas mother, or that it is just the way the show was edited. Jeffrey was RUDE to her, she was the client, and i do distinctly remember her giving input on the fabric color and design of the dress BEFORE it was made, which he discounted and basically said "I don't care what you think." I thought it showed a distinct lack of class to take his feelings for Angela out on her mother.
Also he said that Laura was hostile, jealous, insecure -- but I think Laura made him feel insecure and he certainly did not help their relationship by saying things like "Have a stroke and DIE."
As a designer, he has talent. As a person he has guts and strength overcoming the obstacles he has. But Jeffrey needs work in the humanity dept. Being a flawed person should make him more humane, not less.

My 14-year-old daughter, who initially was all pro-Michael (who wouldn't, he's a sweetheart and taps into that whole hip-hop culture, which is so cool to kids but frankly bores me) came around to appreciate Jeffrey's fierce individuality and fashion aesthetic. So what, if at age 46, size 10, if I could never wear his clothes? I can dream, can't I? And isn't that what designers are supposed to do--inspire us to dream of better things for our own lives? It is very interesting to me that you created a 'character' for the show. I think that was a very smart strategy. You made me cringe at times, but I admit I was fascinated. Your character was totally annoying, but your designs were totally innovative and fresh. Now it all makes sense. You definitely did a 'sneak attack' with your design skills, and you are more mature than I thought. Sadly, I think Laura bought into your character too much. She is a fantastic designer and a person with a lot of integrity. I don't think you should be offended that she questioned your integrity. You made the character be over-the-top arrogant, and cheating would have been a natural error for someone like that to fall into. Arrogant people have a habit of tripping themselves up that way (i.e.' Keith'). All the best to you and the other finalists in Season 3. Clearly, you made my TV-watching ROCK! Thanks.

Great interview, Jeffery. Congratulations on your sobriety. I admire all the contestants on PR. Seeing each episode is like a trip to an art gallery - wearable art.
I especially appreciated your comments on the Mother/Sister episode. While watching the episode, I wondered what we, the viewers, weren't seeing. Your comments answered some of those questions. I believe Darlene was totally overwhelmed by her experience with the show production and the travel. I didn't get the feeling that she was a well traveled person and her discomfort showed.
My top two picks were Laura and Jeffery and I was not dissapointed when Jeffery won. Seeing his models present was great entertainment.
All the finalists were great and the final episode was super.
Jeffery, your son is cute as can be. Your greatest colaboration to date.

Talk about being blindsided. I am shocked that Jeffrey won. Uli and Laura's collections were stunning. One of them should have one. The workmanship on Laura's sequined/beaded evening gown even had Michael Kor impressed as well as others. Sorry, but Jeffreys line is not tasteful and actually juvenile looking. It will do well at H&M or Target's junior department.

Uli - Loved your work as well glad you came in second i think sometime down the road maybe you and Jeffrey can team up and maybe you can get some of your designs on his label. And i'm was happy to see you stuck by Jeffrey when Laura tried to get Jeffrey kicked off, so thank you.
Michael - you poor guy the last show i think i seen your designes before .....oh yea on the New York City's street walkers.maybe you need to get up with the pimps across the country I'm sure they will enjoy your last designes. now don't get me wrong some of your other designes in the show was great just the last show you lost it .
Laura - get out to the real world ! in order to design for women you first must see the real women. you have some good ideas but you must look at everyday women in the work place, home, and out on the town.and please, please, please stop with the long V cut tops.

I am so glad with the outcome, it was just fair and totally agreed with the judges point of view.
I am glad that Laura did not win, she deserves what she got for her bad Karma and ugly attitude towards Jeffrey. This is a skills contest, not a personality one and people need to understand that. Jeffrey was the best choice, and Ulli seconds. She is good too! Thanks for a great season!

First things, first! Jeffrey, take a bath please. It was clear on Jeffrey’s face last night when Laura confronted him that he was a liar. If he, indeed, had completed the collection on his own, he would have been jumping up and down in protest, but what did he do, he walked away from her accusation, which to me means GUILTY! Jeffrey was the only designer to “prepare” his collection outside of his home, actually in a busy company work-room which looks like assistance would be easy to acquire, while he worked on his own line which had nothing to do with Project Runway. He went over budget and questions swirled about his integrity, which none, he has. Laura was the most detailed designer in each and every challenge, including the final. Uli’s collection was verynice, and Michael just didn’t do his best. With all of the money and prizes awarded to Jeffrey, I am sure the “seamstresses” who assisted him will want their cut. Does Harrison know his Daddy is a liar and cheat? He will, oh yes he will. $100,000 will buy a lot of crack!

I've loved and supported Michael up to last night. But Uli shined in the final runway show. I would have kicked off Jeffrey in the first challenge and kept Stacey. That being said. I trust the judges and respect their opinion. Winning PR alone does not guarantee a successful future in the real world. Whose clothes will you buy, Michael's or Jeffrey's? Time will tell.

I am sure it wont matter to you, but I just wanted to say that when you first won, I really wanted to cry. I thought that hey...here is this guy who was so rude and full of himself that he thought he could make someone cry and not even worry about it. I thought it was unacceptable of anyone in any profession to alienate a client that way. I was thinking, "I don't care who wins as long as its NOT Jeffrey" It wasn't your skill, though I didn't always love your designs. It had to do with what I thought of your personality. But watching those last two shows of the finale, I realized that none of us can really know who you truly are, but we saw your human side..FINALY! I wish we had seen it earlier. I looked again at your collection photos, and I can honestly say that the right designer won! I am glad you have hung in there and I wish you nothing but the best! Congrats and Enjoy! You earned it!

I was pleasently suprized at Jeffery's collection. I didn't really like anything he'd done up to that point, and his attitude was hideous.I was amazed at what I saw come down the runway and I honestly thought he deserved to win. Uli's collection was excellent, but a little predictable. Laura's collection was exactly was I was expecting, it looked like everything she had done all season, she was my front runner going up to the finals, I expected something different and was disappointed. Michael broke my heart. His collection was well done, but boring and didn't really have a cohesive theme.I was really pulling for him as well, I thought that given the time to work on a collection, he'd really come through, but when I saw the final product, I knew he'd be at the bottom. He's young and will do well, experience will be his best teacher. One thing about project runway that never lets me down is Tim Gunn, he's the best thing for fashion since the little black dress. Love ya Tim!

I was disappointed by Micheal, but he is still very young and he can learn from this experience and do great things in the future. Uli should have won; she showed incredible range. WHERE CAN YOU BUY HER CLOTHES!!!!! Laura was good, but so predictable, she could have used more color and done some really cool sophisticated sportswear. The show as always was great. But can we replace Nina and Micheal?

What a disappointment!!! I don't know where the judges were coming from. Jeffery's collection was horrible! I feel like his punk-rocker undertone is what is being looked at as creative, not so! I really wanted Michael to win, was I disappointed in his collection? Yes, BUT, Michael has been the most consistant throughout the entire program. For me the designer that really was creative and came out of their box, was Uli. She should be the winner. As far as the judges go, I have lost all credability regarding their judgements. I understand that they are good at what they do in the fashion world, however, we are consumers and we know what we like and Jeffery isn't it! I am to the point where I don't know if I would watch the next season of Project Runway, due to the fact that the judges have their heads up their butts!

Ok, I thought for sure that Jeffery was being pushed through by the producers simply for the ratings, I never thought he would win.... Then he did. How disappointing and what an insult to Uli, Laura and even Michael. It was obvious Michael was the favorite, but his show fell short during fashion week. EVERYONE (even the judges) agreed that Uli and Laura made clothes that women would want to wear... So why did Jeffery win? This was the first year I watched the show... and it will probably be the last. It just seems that the judges and some of the designers are out of touch with what every day people would wear. If I saw one of the outfits that Jeffery wore on someone I knew, I would be embarrased for them. However, Uli and Laura's dresses were wonderful. I was rooting for Laura all along, but in the end thought that maybe Uli won it with her suprises and her show. My mistake... or was it the judges mistake? Let the ratings of the next season be the judge. I won't be tuning in any more and neither will some of my friends that I've already talked to who think the same thing. Sorry PR, you lost the real people who actually watch the show.

I am curious on how they picked Jeffery, even Michael should have won beofre him. Just check back in 5 years and see who has gone the farthest, I bet it ain't good old sarcastic Jeffery. With his attitude towards woman it isn't going to work for him. I feel like the whole season was a loss because of who was picked for the winner. I know folks might find this odd but we thought your behaved like a gentleman (excluding some of the language, but what they heck). What a life lesson we watched unfold in front of us last night. You taught us so much on how to manage getting blindsided and that it does not have to stop you from reaching your goals. My ten year old is talked about it again this morning at breakfast. He thinks you are awesome! He said Mom "it is okay to be different and have different points of views and express these views by just being you!" It really does not get much better than that. Thank you for sending this message to them; "if you believe in yourself, you can do anything! "

It's obvious that a double standard existed in selecting Jeffrey. He OVERSPENT, plain and simple. But it didn't matter, regardless of Tim's remark about the strict nature of things. The judges said that creativity alone won't win, and Jeff--lacking in craftsmanship--probably had his minions actually help him sew the collection. I believe Laura was right--something was wrong, but it'll never be proven. As one respondent said, Karma will get Jeff.
I'm curious about the title of Jeff's forthcoming collection: "This doesn't suck!"? Jeff's stuff was not the best, but ratings dictated. I would like to see Heidi off the judging panel. She's Exec. Producer and host, that's enough.

I guess i really didn't understand what the judges were looking for in the Bryant Park collection. Apparently they wanted versatility, a look for every season or every event. Laura had all evening wear. Her collection was absolutely beautiful, but I'm glad she didnt' win. There was something so mean and pathetic about her unwarranted attack on Jeffrey. I'm no big Jeffrey fan, although I think he's very talented, but I would never have done what she did.You simply can't go around accusing people without proof. Her clothes were extremely labor-intensive, she has five kids (who takes care of them by the way?), she's pregnant -- of course she was further behind than he was! Nasty woman. I thought Michael's and Uli's collections were uninspiring. So at the end, for me, it came down to Laura and jeffrey. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm glad Jeffrey won.

Butt Jeffery has a unique design vision that the world needs to see. I have to say that Uli's collection surprised me, it was much better than her work during the show. If Michael would have tamed down the prints into solids, I think his collection would have shown much better. The judges always declared Lauras work as a "One Note", well it was a heck of a note. Beautifull work Laura.

I was hoping Michael would have come through, but after seeing his line when Tim Gunn visited him, I did not think he would be able to win. I love Laura's clothes; they are elegant and tastefully done, but I agree that they would be for older women. But why does this show insist that you have to be 20 something to appreciate beautiful fashion? Jeffrey's line looks like they came from some dark, depressing place inside his head. I would not give any of his pieces the time of day if I saw them anywhere. And where do the judges get off thinking Jeffrey’s picnic cloth, show-me-your-crotch couture dress was better than Uli’s beautifully designed and hand made gown? Uli was the clear winner to me last night. Her clothes looked sharp and exciting. I'm surprised the judges went with Jeffrey. I'm not too up on the reasons behind "Olympus Fashion Week," but if it's to show to the world that you can make over-the-top, nasty designs, and be beligerent to the other designers, then they must have picked the right person (NOT). I want to see Heidi wear just one of Jeffrey’s disasters in public. Perhaps that should be one of the prizes given to the winner. If it was, perhaps the judging would have turned out different.

Uli was most impressive. I have been a fan of Michael, Laura and Uli the whole season, NEVER JEFFREY! I think the only thing Jeffrey did worthwhile was the recycle challenge and I do feel he should've won that one. Uli's fashions were what could be worn, and Laura's too. I have to admit I wasn't crazy over most of Michael's collection. I liked his work during the season so much more.
