What Would Doug Do? He Would Live

I haven't seen this week's episode. I do, however, remember the filming of it.

The two guarantees in life are birth and death. There is nothing we can do to stop it. The only real solution I see to this inevitability is doing exactly what Doug did: live.

I learned from Doug how to stay focused on every day being important. This was a man that showed only love and understaning for those around him. I don't want to say what's already been said, as well as being crystal clear for all of the viewers, but I must ... Doug was a gift to this world. I miss him and I can only hope there's a little of him left in all of us.

This may not seem like the time considering the situation with Doug, but as far as your relationship with Zen and now her new boyfriend? Grow up and get over..

Gregg -
Your comments ring so true and I know from personal experience that you should never wait for tomorrow to tell someone how you feel about them, or give that little compliment, or call a friend just to check-in and say, "Hey". I've been watching "Work Out" since the first season and am a fan of the show and the all trainers. I was always amazed at Doug's ability to draw a smile from anyone at anytime, no matter what the situation was and his beautiful, bright eyes gave you a sense that he could see through you and connect with you. I was truly saddened by this huge loss and my heart broke watching Peeler try to hold back his overwhleming sorrow. All of you are special people and should hold that in the palm of your hands. I think of the time that was wasted between Jesse and Doug when they were having that petty disagreement. No one could've known then that something like this would have happened, but I bet that things would've been different and little spats like that one would've been resolved in the blink of an eye. Retrospect can be a cruel thing, but it doesn't have to be like that for everyone.
Gregg, I admire your calm and gentle approach to sensitive issues and situations. You bring a sense of peace with you and I was impressed with your demeanor during the therapy part of the retreat. You didn't shy away from getting involved and asking questions and making the SkyLab participants feel like they mattered.
I want to thank you for sharing that little bit of yourself every Tuesday night and look forward to watching next week.
Much love - Sammi Sam :)

Gregg,

I am so glad that you were on this season of workout. You seem down to earth and you say what's on your mind. Keep that amazing smile on your face, and do what Doug did liver to the fullest. God Bless and stay the handsome man that you are.

Greg, I think you can do better than Zen. I mean Jesus Christ, haven't you seen her stand-up?

What a tough episode to watch. Between Jackie and her mom, Jackie and her dad, and then Doug. I felt so bad for Peeler!

As always, Gregg, you show a lot of class whatever the situation. I'm looking forward to next week - hopefully it's a little lighter!

ok, so I thought the last episode was emotional. Especially in the beginning when everyone was sharing such personal things about their lives and I cried because I know how it feels to be the "fat girl." But this episode, learning that Doug passed away was just too sad! I hope next weeks episode is easier to watch. Less crying! And for you Gregg, this episode was kind of harsh, Zenn gets a new boyfriend and then Doug passes away! OUCH!
Stay tough man!

Greg,

You are one hot man. My lord. I'd date ya!!! LOL!!! Anyway I'm sorry to hear of your loss from SkyLab. I love the show. The one episode when you asked Zen to go with you to court, I can't believe she said no. That wasn't cool, now if you asked me and I knew you I would of went with you for the support. Whether if you are friends or not friends are there for friends.

Hi Gregg,
I'll be your new Zen! Keep doing what you're doing! You make my Tuesday nights so much better! Hope all is well!

Gregg, I am deeply saddened by the loss of Doug, you are the one I tend to follow the most when I watch work out, you have class, style, and one of the "nice guys" I wish I could afford to be trained by you! I looked up your price, and I am SURE you are worth it, it's just out of my reach. I am sure you're booked solid anyway.

I don't know how Zen expected you to act when she introduced you to her new friend, I thought that was a bit tacky.
You will find someone who is just right for you, she wasn't.
So so sorry about Doug, he seemed like such a great guy and he was, he will be missed

Very well said. Simple and sweet!!

Every moment of our lives is an experience.

As our minds and hearts are stretched by new experiences, we can never go back to our old dimensions.

I've enjoyed the experience of knowing Doug, even though so indirectly.

Thanks for your thoughts!!

that was such a touching message you wrote about Doug.He was such a great man i just wish i got to meet him and work out in the gym with him. And now he is looking over us all

Gregg,
My heart goes out to all of you who knew Doug personally. I can not imagine how hard it must have been not to be able to see him before he passed.

And dude about Zen: SHE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU!! Get over it already. You should not have let her see that her bringing that guy into the gym bothered you. And trust me it showed on your face. Just chill.

danielle wrote:

hey greg- good blog about doug...your lucky to have met him :) also glad your court thing went well and that next season we wont hear about "greg being in jail and all thats why hes not on the show this year" LOL--- so happy that things are worked out in that sitaution...
and the whole zen thing- as a women-as a friend-as unbias- please move on bro- there arother fish in the sea- though zen is wonderful-there are other women who are just as wonderful-you'll find the right one when the time is right...dont waste anymore time/emotions on your fling with zen- she may still be a good friend, but she doesnt want anything more than to be friends, just respect that and be happy for her with any guy she happens to be dating- im sure she'll be happy for you when you find the right girl too- your reaction to her new guy was really imature and probably only proved to zen exactly why shes just not in to you in the first place...im not trying to be mean im just talking to you like i'd talk to my brother- just trying to be honest and help you be a bigger and better man- i think your a great guy and hope the best for you- if i didnt i'd say nothing at all...kick butt greg and keep rockin it out!

It's funny how the public gets so involved in people's lives that do the reality shows.. however I am as guilty as the rest.. as I am currently overseas bc I am a military spouse TV here is a couple of weeks behind... however, the taped episodes have a nice in memory of blasted on the front of following episodes... So I was a bit floored... The last episode that aired was his birthday. I only saw the irony.. I guess I feel the loss a little too personally. He seemed very inspiring and genuine and I know that the world is lost a great person but Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. So thanks Bravo TV and the Sky Staff for sharing him with the rest of the world.

I am a huge fan of the show and of you as a trainer. I have quit smoking after (many) years, and have hired a personal trainer. My trainer and I discuss the show every week (he assigns that as homework for me). We have been sad since Doug fell ill and since passed away. Good luck in your music endeavor, I will be looking for your cd. All of you keep up the good work, you are effecting changes in peoples lives every where.

Gregg,

I just have to say...You are absolutely gorgeous!! It is so apparent that you have a good head on your shoulders and I truly admire how hard you work to help others. I am in awe of you. After Zen wouldn't accompany you to court to support you I became disgusted with her. When you truly care about someone you support them no matter what...especially in regards to your unfortunate situation when you were simply just standing up for yourself. Honey...how can you think about being with someone like her when they clearly dont have your back? Don't settle for or underestimate yourself when it comes to women because you deserve the best. I would also like to give my deepest sympathy for the loss of your friend Doug...he was the kind of guy that everyone should try to be like. So good luck with your music along with everything else, you are awesome and so freakin sexy!!! :)

I think a lot of people tend not to live in the moment, and take life for granted. Losing a wonderful person like Doug must really be an eye opener. Doug hit a lot of people's lives whether it was in person or through the viewers that gained inspiration from him.
