Hey!
I’m Chris Ultimo. I’m from New Jersey, I go to Emerson College in Boston, and currently I’m an Intern for Bravo Digital Media in the Burbank lot (Emerson has a west coast campus which kind of cuts back a bit on commuting time between classes and our internships). I decided to spend my last semester in college away from Boston’s (mind numbingly cold!!!!) fall weather to learn and make my way into the entertainment industry that I’ve studied so much.
In school I’ve been a film major with a love for audio production…so much so that when I initially sat down to write this blog last weekend I found myself writing a song about my Bravo and NBC experiences instead. From that point, I couldn’t resist recording it and after that, the film major in me couldn’t let it go without a music video. So after a weekend of driving my roommates crazy with songs of Bravo, I showed it to my supervisors.
I was really happy to see that they liked it and now it’s a part of this website!
This habit of making all things in life musical has become pretty noticeable in my student films. Actually, if you ever find yourself online (like now) check out my final film practicum project, Film School the Musical here’s the link: Click for Film School the MusicalC It won 3 EVVY Awards (Emerson’s Emmy’s) and had a world premiere at the Rhode Island International Film Festival over the summer.
I’ve worn many hats in my time at Emerson being a writer, producer, director, actor, singer, editor, sound engineer, & motion graphics designer. There is however not one position I am more proud to have held than being a Bravo intern. I came out to LA in early September like all other Emersonians (and pretty much all college students in general) scrambling to find an internship. I went on tons of interviews and got many offers, but I figured since I changed time zones for this program I should hold off until I was sure I found one that fit me best. When I saw that Bravo, the channel that has been the soundtrack of my living room for quite a while was seeking an intern I knew there was a good chance it would fit me better than an outfit even Tim Gunn could pick out. My interest grew even more during the interview and I was the happiest person in San Fernando Valley when I found out I got the position.
