What a semester! Holidays are here, finals are (finally!) over and sadly my time as a Bravo intern is coming to a close. I have to say this has been a wonderful experience that I'm really going to miss. From editing clips for the web to shooting a fashion show, working the red carpet, being on a reality set, and of course, bursting occasionally into song and dance about being a Bravo intern, I'm leaving my internship with many great stories and memories.
Over Thanksgiving I took a trip back to Jersey where its a little colder and three hours later than it is in Los Angeles. While I was there...Andy Cohen invited me to visit Thirty Rock! I was really excited to meet the East Coast team that I heard so much of through conference calls and emails back in Burbank. I hopped on a bus to Port Authority and made my way over to Rockefeller Center. When I got there, I was surprised and happy to see that so many people had seen and liked my "Bravo Intern" music video I made for my last Blog!!!
Andy Cohen's a really nice guy and had some good advice for me. While I was there, I got to see his killer view of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree literally right outside his window! As I have a habit of turning all things in life musical, my meeting left me inspired to make another song. With all of the holiday spirit around Bravo and Thirty Rock this time of year, I wanted to close out my time at this network with a "Holiday Remix."
Back in Burbank and in a “sing song yaay I just gained three hours back” mood, I treated my roommates to a few nights of me recording more verses about my experiences at Bravo…Holiday Style. Before I knew it, I was once again running around NBC and Universal City singing and dancing. Although I am myself quite a…talented…dancer, this time around I enlisted the dancing expertise of an KNBC Sports intern, Brittany Salsberry and her friend, Vanessa Wada as the very talented Bravo dancers (I made their Bravo Shirts..I know…I’m so ready for Project Runway!). As NBC interns and fellow Bravo enthusiasts, they were as hyped as I was to hop out on the streets and represent our network. It was a blast making this video and we totally got car beeps and tourist yelling words of support in the process.
Now that I am about to graduate, I’m looking back at this internship and am realizing just how many opportunities I’ve been given. Not only was I able to take part in so many hands on assignments, but there is so much advice and guidance I’ve been able to accumulate from so many people in this company. From Senior VP, Andy Cohen to my supervisors Peter and Galen, Bravo and NBC Universal employees are so open and willing to give tips and advice ranging from where to find a good Burbank apartment to how to land that first job.
