Working out is very emotional for most people...skinny, heavy, man, woman. The mind body connection is very strong -- meaning what we feel about others and ourselves is directly manifested in our bodies.
I make every client burst into tears. No, not because I am mean but because after so many years I have become adept at identifying core emotional issues and I address them head on. This skill comes partly from growing up with a mentally ill parent.

Jackie: The show is getting predictable and borning. AND, your clothing line is questionable. Who the heck wants to go to dinner in a sweaty gym suit? I'm not following this idea...?
I think the concept is inept. Again, even mid-western stay at home mom's don't leave the gym to socialize in sweaty spa/gym clothes. They go home, shower, and change into dresses and cute sandals; just like LA women.
Stay with what you know Jackie: Exercise and that's it. Keep your gym going and live a happy life...let go of everything else and stop being so greedy.

I would have cut him loose in the meeting at the hotel...especially since he had nothing to add and tried to rob you of your own confidence in your vision. I would have jetisoned him BEFORE Indiannapolis! Speaking of your vision...it is a niche that is definitely missing in the gym-to-errands-to-cafe set. We are all too busy to go through multiple clothes changes to get through our day. Don't forget the poor slobs at work who work out and have to go back to their desks!

Jackie - I absolutely love your show! I have been watching since the first episode of season 1 and I have to say, while I just enjoyed season 1, season 2 has inspired me more than I could imagine. I'm a young female who allowed a knee and back injury to immobilize her. I decided in Dec that I'm fed up with allowing myself to go from incredibly active to completely sedentary. I recently was set back when I developed a kidney stone, then plagued with salmonella poisoning, recently bronchitis, and now just being worn down. I get in about 3 cardio workouts a week now and while watching your show, I get on my stability ball and use my weights as well. Watching your trainers and Skylab clients gets me even more motivated every week to workout and eat healthy!
Your body alone is motivation! Keep up the awesome work with Skysport and Skylab!

I watch Work Out every week and wanted to thank you for this week’s episode. I'm gay and my mother committed suicide when in 1994. I have focused very aggressively on my career from 1994 until now. I think my career has kept me busy allowing me not to focus on my personal life. In 1994, I was a petite person standing 5' 4" weighing 145 lbs. After my mother committed suicide, I began gaining weight gradually resulting in my current weight of 205 lbs, high blood pressure. I admire you for being so focused on your body and life. I want to start a regular work out routine and diet, but I'm not sure exactly how to get started. You will never know how much you have inspired me. Any help you can provide would be great!

It's SO exciting to find out Jackie's line will be available to purchase soon. I've been working out 5-6 days a week, and can't wait for some new hot, and edgy clothing to don. I also feel I connect on some level with Jackie because she grew up with an emotionally ill parent. My mother was schizophrenic, and it effected my childhood greatly. This illness can truly tear a family apart. Jackie, you are such an inspiration to me. You're an incredible woman. Keep up the amazing work. Nevertheless, I wished to convery a couple of thoughts as each and every time I get a chance to watch TV and your show is running, I MUST stop to watch you in action! You are so motivating to all those you touch, I am - at the risk of sounding cheesy - thankful to come across your show. Never mind the fact that you are also extremely hot - so come on, now. Get real. Your kind advice conveys your insight into life and actually, shows that you indeed have a deeper and tough past. Having a similar background, I agree! One can definitely come to tears when attacking food and exercise issues. Food can be so addictive, it can have the same emotional effects and ties to - I believe - a drug to a drug addict. It is a breakthrough to appreciate all phases of our makeup - whether happy or sad - will only help us love and appreciate our primary friend, ourself. It is the only way we can offer love to others - as you so easily do during your shows. Anyway, ya! I've talked too much....oh - sorry - one more thing: What the hell is wrong with you dating Rebecca? You are a HOT professional woman! You most certainly can do better! I was hurt 11 years ago and couldn't walk for 2 yrs and as a result put on a ton of weight. I quit smoking for God sake and things were suppose to get better not worse. I was diagnoised with hypertension, diabetes, sleep apnea, gerd, menopause and they list continues. I was on 14 medications. What I wasn't spending on cigarettes, I was spending on medications. I hurt my back this past October and all it was-I pulled a muscle due to my weight once again. I topped out at 260 and I am 5'6 1/2. I began exercising and gained 10 lbs right off the bat. Not what I wanted to hear. I fell apart. I had the lapband done on Feb 7th and have since lost 33 lbs. I am off all my meds except for vitamins and Effexor (menopause). I drink protein drinks daily and have learn to love them! BUT, I still cannot do the elipical (spelling) machine. I get on it and almost collapse. With the weight loss, my mind tells me all the time to go go go, but my body can't keep up. How do I master that crazy machine. I see people on it doing 30 mins w/ no problem. I look like jelly legs after 30 seconds. HELP. I had a trainer last year, but not now. I have just begun to work out again since the surgery and I am anxious about toning up but that one machine gets me everytime. I do good on everything else. My blood pressure is now 110/68!! Yeah I would have gotten rid of the clothing guy too. Because on his own, he didn't have very much taste or style (demonstrated by what he put together). But on the other end, where was Jackie communication, several times in the show she's going around assuming people understand what she wants like everyone is psychic. You know she never checked with him to see what the clothes look like, she should have gotten the samples early enough to make changes before a negotiation. While he failed the job by competence, she failed the job of managing of supervising.
I was surprised to see her opening up about a deep personal issue dealing with her father. There are some things way to personal to deal with by youself, let alone witnessed by millions. But then there you force the reality to confront you, and eliminate any possibility of bs ing yourself.
Anyhow love the show, this is just my opinions, and can't wait to see the next one. You should have a contest where somebody wins a week to work out at skylab, or hell just send me !!!!

Jackie, last week and today’s shows were very interesting to me as I’m over weight but not an over eater. I usually eat one meal a day just because I'm a very busy person but I do understand how emotions make a person's body change because, “cause and effect”. In 2000 my father passed away and one year later the man I was to marry died because of 911. I have been an athlete most of my life and now I'm put my completive nature in the business world. I'm still very strong and work out daily but I have always been use to hours of workout time daily and I just can't do that with my lifestyle now. I want to make a change and I have been watching your show lately for inspiration to make me get off my butt when I do finally get home to keep going and take the weight off. I think the direction you are going is great and would like to see more of the last two shows played out.

So this is my second comment on one of your blogs this season... i CANNOT believe that i'm actually addicted to a reality TV show.. ugh! I originally started watching because i'm a fitness competitor and wanted to see how "real" this gym was going to be. I was surprised to find what seems to be such a knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate staff that really know how to motivate.... and like i said, i'm now hooked!
Seriously though, I absolutely love everything about you, your trainers, and your show. I really hope that it helps open up America's eyes about the importance about living a physically, as well as mentally, healthy lifestyle. I think that the coaching and advice you give your skylab clients is WONDERFUL, and it's amazing to see them really open up on TV. They're amazing!
Thanks again for sharing SkySport with us... i look forward to the show so much, and i'm completely ecstatic about your clothing line that will be coming out. As always, best of luck with everything!!

I just wanted to acknowledge how brave it was for you to open up to your SkyLab clients and to your staff about your father. After you confessed that your father also committed suicide, I rewound to the part where Laurie revealed her father's suicide and I watched your face. I watched how long it took you to decide that you also wanted to share, and I imagined what you were thinking; "should I share? Do I want to share? What will happen if I share? Will they see me as a different person if I do? Will I lose any authority?" It was huge and brave and courageous and amazing.
I'm sure you get bombarded with a lot of "role model" comments and questions, and I'd like to add to them: I LOVE seeing a successful female business owner who is so together and so articulate. So powerful! Then, to boot, you're gay? YAY! How could anyone look at you or Doug or Jesse and say, "Yes, THAT is the face of evil in this country! Clearly, these people must be stopped!! Also, make sure none of them get married while we aren't looking."
Like every woman in America, I've got an enormous crush on you, girl! I love watching how open and honest you are in both of your relationships - it's soooo possible to be in love and to be happy with two people, and yay for you guys to be putting such a positive image on it.
I wonder if, as you were going through your gnarly childhood, if you ever had role models...and if you ever wanted to become one yourself? Well, you have knocked it out of the park, babycakes - have your mom chew on that for awhile. You are a positive force in the world, working for the betterment of people (people just like me, actually;) how can she disapprove?
Warm thoughts and best wishes,

Sharing such intimate details and struggles is so difficult especially while being filmed that I just want you to let them know that we are greatful. As for your new business venture, you definately should see the fabrics you want, then have them made locally under your watchful eye, you can then mass produce them with the proper fit (I am a designer). Please, Jackie. I respect your core business drive & the ability to communicate so that others may understand how important it is to live healthy lives. This post is not really for public consumption. Though you have a great opportunity with your apparel line .... We don't want you to make the same mistakes my wife, Lilly & I have made in the apparel business. We have a printed resort apparel business (GOVANGO) that shot out of the gate in it's 1st & 2nd year. We thought everything would stay that way. We started with $80,000 in loans, and reached nearly $1,000,000 in sales in our second year, and it was only us. But things went sour. We not only found a nightmare, ripoff-artist of a production manager, who we payed a profit per garment to ... In the end, he low-balled us on quality when we found out he was overcharging us for goods (lost 80% of our stores)... We also found a rep who lied & stole, and cost us hundreds of thousands in lost sales. Add a few hurricanes in FL, where we're based & presto!!! $330,000 in debt, after 6 yrs of hard work, and hard lessons. Will we make it? I don't know. Out of all of this ... the bottom line is we did not enough have real knowledge of the business & were underfinanced!
Know your competition. You are a "niche" product. You may not think there is any one who is greedy enough to care, as you seem to offer a unique product. But everyone & the biggest ones are vying for only so much shelf space. The brand owners, reps, etc. might shake your hand, but they will be working to end whatever ground you think you are gaining. Keep your eyes & ears open. Know who might be gunning for you, as they will lie, cheat & pressure stores into not carrying you. Unknown to us, our biggest competitor, Lilly Pulitzer, kept us out of the Coterie in NYC, which is the top show for high-end buyers in our "resort" market. They threatened to leave the show (10 booths) if they let us in. We found out 3 years later. Loss = Millions of $$$s in lost sales, and a missed chance to establish ourselves early as a better, more unique alternative. Also, loss of enough cash flow to afford a full-time production manager!!!
The gentleman you teamed up with, who's name I don't care to remember, that has his "own" successful apparel company in NYC .... There are a million others like that out there who will take your money ... manufacturers, production middlemen, reps, pattern makers, designers ...everyone telling you that they know what they're doing. And if a contract manufacturer, like your first most excellent sample maker ... has his/her own line ... yours will never come first, nor will your delivery ... unless that manufacturer is also a heavy investor, financially, in the success of your line. 99% of them should be in jail and will lie to make sure your checks in the bank, because THEY DON"T CARE ABOUT EXCELLENCE, ethics, long-term relationships. As long as your check clears, and you don't have the FUCK YOU power of NIKE, THE GAP, Target, etc...there are plenty of other "startup" fools waiting in line who think they've got the next big thing.
And though you were proud of yourself for controlling your rage at the manufacturer, remember his eyes, and him trying to convince you you don't understand the market. He's setting you up to fall in line with his expectations of his abilities & the average industry attitude. AND, I promise you, he is used to yelling at people all day long, without care ... and if things got tough, and were going wrong, watch what the kind of guy he turns into in front of your face. HE would be screaming and squirming to prove to you how it was your fault all along .... how he saw nothing of what you're saying in writing, or can recall ever going over what you said was the most important thing about a certain style's finishing. ETC. ETC. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING ... and if something is VERBALLY made not of for production, etc ... have your assistant follow it up with a fax that state the same agreement/decision ... and have the manufacturer, or their management sign it so you have written record of what your demanding for you product/styles.
And, if you can not deliver on time...the first time...stores don't care...they may not re-order, as you are delaying their planned time to sell your order ... and when the "freshness" and free publicity of your line fades ... you will only have your reputation for delivering quality at a price point & on time. It's your name or your company's on the label. You can not, if the shit hits the fan, say "Well my contract manufacturer used YSS zippers, instead of YKK zippers, like we asked."
You say you like doing things yourself, because you know you can count on yourself to do it right doing the first time, because you trust yourself. Do not trust anyone in the apparel business. They're not all bad, but many are. Again, get everything in writing . . . down to the thread you need to use & how many stitches you require, per inch, etc. Do not assume anyone cares, but you...You can't begin to imagine all the things that can vertically go wrong ... from incorrect patterns, to poor grading, to cutting, to dirt at all phases, mis-labeling, theft of fabric. If those "ducks" are not all in a row, each time, and something falls through the cracks, like someone using cheap thread or zippers, ... you will wish you had never entered the apparel business. You are very tough at handling the VISION for business, but these "rag trade" guys are beyond your wildest dreams as to how hardened/callous someone can be in business. They're used to making nickels & dimes per yard/garment in massive quantities (for years), as are those who supply all the "parts" for the garment.
Use BRAVO's contacts like Tim Gunn/Project Runway, and his FIT NYC staff, etc...to find real pros who know every cutting & production house in the city that you choose to make the garments, if they're going to be done in the US. Work the storyline into the show as a cross promotion with "Project Runway." Save money where you can, because cash will fly out. And if you get into trouble with some shady character in the trade... threaten to use the show to embarrass whoever it may be into making it right.
There are a ton of manufacturers in LA, etc...some good, most not ... but you have to be able to have the $$$ to commit to pay for an actual, full-time production manager (@$80,000/yr.+)that is beholden to YOU, is proven long-term, with references, to not only know & produce patterns, markers, gradings, yields per yard, and real spec sheets (per style) that go over all measurements (hip, rise, waist, length, chest, etc.,) & go over every detail that is supposed to happen to the style. Do not take anything for granted, and prepare for "something" to happen at some point. Bottom line...you pay a production manager to find/correct mistakes during design, sourcing materials, grading, markers, cutting & production ... so it can be corrected before it makes it to the stores (on time). I would rather you miss a selling season to get it right, just so you get the actual first delivery on time, at top quality & fit ... not within some TV "fairlyland" schedule of trying to keep your show fresh & produce the line under too short a timetable. You can not do the show & depend on a contract manufacturer's "inside" people, because though the "package" might sound fair, you may be exposing yourself to the kind of stress you can not begin to fathom if it begins to unraven. Have the network's exec pay for your own production manager ... in your contract. Do it right the first time, and the market share will come. Be patient & don't settle.
If nothing else, you have to commit to be more involved than you'd ever think. Go to specific garment trade shows, fabric shows, cutting rooms, etc...so at a minimum you know the lingo to use.
Enough said. It took me a couple hours to write all this down, but you need to know these things & I do care. I wish you the best of luck, with the line & the show. You deserve it.
Warmest regards,
Barry

Jackie,
I never wrote anything to any show before but I had to check out your blog after watching a few episodes this season and write you a note. At first I did not know whether your show is a real reality show or a fake reality show because every trainer at your gym looks like a movie star, your hair is so coifed, you wear the right and different outfit every day in the show, and it appears as if the cameras are always at the right place at the right time to capture the right conversations for the show. However, I have come to love you and the way you are dealing with yourself and treating others in the show so much that it does not matter whether the show is choreographed or not. You represent a person with ease, strength, ambition, sweetness, love, caring, fun, intelligence, and business practicality. You deal with good things and not so good things in life with integrity, openness, and class. I just now realized I look at you as a role model. I am 40 years old, gay, successful by any standards, but have never had a role model in my life. Recently I was talking to a friend about wanting to find a role model for myself. I admire many world and local leaders but never felt related to any of them. There is also a side of me wanting to create and run a business-a business that is well run where people who work there feel like it's a family and that they are making a difference for others. Probably because the show has all those elements which strike a core in me, I admire you even more.
Thank you. Take care and good luck with everything.

I feel that the core emotion of your show has
been "Doug." I'm not sure if I can continue watching after next week's show. I can only hope
that you are "emotionally tuned in to your viewers" to devote one show to "Doug." It would
say so much about who you are as I have found
you enjoyable to watch but you seem to
be "emotionally closed" when it comes to pain.
I guess I would like to see your "vulberable" side
for you seem to take control of everything, including your past relationship. And it seems as
if it is easy for you to "just move on" without
any pain. (But all of this could be due to the
way the show is edited). But "Doug's" death,
which I read about overwhelmed, once the shock
was over because he seemed like the "most
caring person on the show," always thinking
about someone else before his own needs...and
this show needs that in order to care about your
dreams, the show itself, and the cast. I just hope that if another person comes to work for
you and is on the show that he/she will have
the same sincere, humble and caring ways that
I can only see when I watched and listened to
"Doug." For it is refreshing to see a "selfless"
person within a very "self centered/ego driven
environment. Maybe "Doug's" gift will be to make
all see how wonderful it can be to think of others before their own needs. I did have
problems with your relationship with "Rebecca"
because I was involved in a situation where
the employer/employee relationship turned into
a disaster for once it ended it was impossible
to remain friends without going through a
period of "getting over the pain." So I found
myself without a job. I just don't believe that
there should be any deep relationships within
those in the work place. Just a personal opinion.
And I would go crazy if the person I was dating
was one moment "kissing me" and the next
moment being on the phone with the "other
person" she was dating. I stayed believing that
in the end I would be picked as the relationship
would only get deeper. I hope "Rebecca" is not
expecting the same or sadly her job could be
in danger for if there is a break up....well I've
rarely heard of a "positive break up."
I think the only way I could understand a
relationship between those working in the
same environment is if it was a true "person
to person" relationship and not part of "one"
our of "two" that you are dating. I hope I make
sense. You are so "strong" and I guess I want to
see your "vulnerable" side. Lastly, would you
have problems if "Rebecca" decided to also date
others, including males, as she continues seeing
you? For wouldn't she have the same rights that
you do?
And that also goes for "Rebecca" dating another
woman while also dating you....how would you
feel....? You are probably more secure than me
for no matter how I "pretended" it would
bother me/hurt me if I really cared about her.

dear Jackie:
First of all let me say, I didn't at all think, when first seeing snippets of the show, "teasers to lure - commercials I guess for show" that I would be at all interested. I unfairly and shallowly dismissed it as over indulgent, snotty, rich people working out in LA LA land and obnoxious to the point that spending any time with them via this reality show would not be for me . How I was wrong. Mostly because I believe (personal opinion of one person obviously) that this show has nothing to do with working out, except as the peripheral outlying theme and thread at the outset. It's most definitely and utter intriguingly a show about relationships. And that's the rub. That's what keeps me, a 46 year old man, coming back to the Real World for god knows how many years since its inception, year after year after year. I am inextricably wound up in the complexity, delicacy and awesome uniqueness of the human condition especially as it relates to personal relationships and all the facets that suggests and encompasses. I am gay man, which is of no particular importance, except that I want to preface what i am about to say with that so as to keep things in context, hopefully. I usually find myself a bit put off by most lesbians in varying degrees, for reasons some of which I think i can account for and some I have no idea of why. However, that being said, I find you extremely attractive. I don't mean sexually. I mean that you, like myself, are homosexual, but all that is, is an explanation for what you like to do sexually, behind close doors, in your own personal privacy and that's it. It doesn't dictate where you shop, what restaurants you eat in, what establishments you patronize, etc, etc. etc. I have always been "put off" by gay people who find it necessary to go the gay route - (sort of like the obnoxious unfortunate path that Ellen DeGenere's fictional Ellen Morgan took when she came out of the closet, eventually destroying her credibility, her appeal, and her sitcom!) And because I find you "attractive" in that sense, I am fascinated watching you, and you being the pivotal/catalystic/central point of the show, around which everything revolves, it sets the stage for pleasurable, extreme enjoyable television viewing, as well as very educational on a personal level for me. I love how you carry yourself (I have no idea how old you are, I sense/guess that 41-42 is about right, give or take) and how you carry yourself is a lesson of sorts for me in reminding myself how I myself, someone like yourself in a lot of respects must remember to carry myself, conduct myself in my dealings with other humans, business associates, etc... I find it extremely interesting that you held back on going off on Steve. At this point in my development and maturity, and I have come a long way in the last decade, intentionally working on that, anger management, maintaining balance, etc, I still don't think I could have restrained myself, cameras or no cameras, and so it is very helpful for me to watch that restraint, examine it, and try to use it in my everyday life and situations that arise. Your attractiveness now having been established to me, let me also say that at first I found you distinctly unnattractive (nothing to do with looks). I found you to be hard, unsettling, and dare i say it "bitchy." However, knowing what i know about human beings, their frailties and what they show to the world I should have known and seen thru much sooner that that was all just demeanor for the sweet, sensitive, caring "inner child" that lurks below. How silly of me not to see that right off, look past it, and get to the point where I am know. Anyway, live and learn. Ten years ago even it would have taken me twice as long to get to it, so I'm making progress, and that's all that counts, right?
Both sides now having been said, I hope you will take what i want to tell you in the spirit of which it is said, as words of caring and hopefully by which you can gain some insight and learn something, as well as a lesson for myself putting them down on paper to you. Your whole relationship with Mimi and the whole BS of those episodes with her, I just wanted to reach thru the television and wring your neck! Now I know that she is your "addiction" and God Knows, GOD KNOWS, I've had, and still have my addictions ala Mimi. However, I've gotten to the point (everyone hopefully gets to things in their own time), but out of a deep sense of caring for the person I am watching so intimately in the middlle of the night usually when I am having trouble sleeping, there you are...out of a deep sense of caring for you I want to tell you to examine that relationship more closely as you "ease on down the road", so that you don't continue the "pattern" - (does your therapist talk a lot about breaking "patterns" in your life as mine used to?)...cause once I learned to do that, and continue to do that, life is so much easier. Mimi was/is a child, immature (so immature that an adult of her age throwing things at other people like on the schoolyard, dare I say kindergarten playground, was maddening. So maddening, after I reached thru the television to wring your neck i wanted to reach over and slap her silly until I slapped some sense into her, even if it took a month's worth of slapping) I had the same reaction recently when Rebecca threw water at Jesse. And when that reaction welled up in me I saw Mimi 2 sitting there, and realized if you get sucked into a relationship with Mimi you are continuing a pattern that must be broken, however unlike Mimi Rebecca may be in other regards, in a sense she is exactly, EXACTLY like her (jealous of Tiffany, even if she hides it better, much better actually, than Mimi) the core feeling is there - nuff said. You're too "attractive", intelligent, mature, etc...to succumb to more of this B.S. Demand and receive what you need, on a mature, sophisticated level of adult relationship to adult and nothing less. These demands also need not be made violently, demonstratively or with great needless drama - they are quiet things that speak for themselves, and the other human being who is right for you will understand that as well, and your union and eventual blissful relationship will be the product of it borne out of all things positive - mutual respect at the head of the list. Let the 20 somethings, 30 somethings do their thing...as we all did, and there's nothing wrong with it. But take your right place in "middle age" - (don't tell me that 60 is middle aged either - how many 120 year olds do you know?) and the rest will fall into place when it is meant to be and not a moment before. It's sort of like I used to hate being called "sir" and bawked at it, and told people not to do it, and now when it's done I just smile contently and with great calm, because I've earned it, as you have (madam I guess - although Sir probably works for ya too! - kidding!)... I hope you are catching my drift and receiving it in the compassionate spirit in which it is given. And it's not to say you can't date and have a great relationship with Rebecca, but you must dictate the rules, set the boundaries (in a good way) If she meets and hopefullly exceeds your standards and expectations, pardon the pun "Bravo", if not, no one's a bad person, or evil, it just wasn't meant to be, didn't work out. Nuff said, move on. Also, I hate to say it, because I, like you, didn't ever believe in conducting myself as two people, the business person and then my other self, always poo pooing it, but alas, there is some merit in it. Not saying you have to be strictly business and "cut yourself off at the neck" so to speak, but I just hope you don't let the personal crap get in the way or demean the other stuff you've got going which is so wonderful. (Pardon me, but obviously I feel like I know you given the situation, as I'm sure this isnt the first time either, but I am in no way wanting to sound as I'm lecturing, telling you what to do etc, I'm just offering what i hope might be useful/helpful advice of course, and if not, well I tried...)
Also, in regards to dignity, yours, and all the things connected to it, may I say that i think it's completely abhorrent, not to mention vulgar, and unsettling, lacking any class or sophistication (as you yourself possess a great deal of) on Bravo's part to use the obvious tragedy of Doug's death as the "teaser/lure" promo central core idea for the coming attraction commercials they have been showing. Awful, terrible, and if you can you should immediately put a stop to it. Using someone's death to attract a television viewing audience is about the most vulgar thing I can think of. That would be like using footage of the VA Tech Massacre for one school to lure away potential students from that school to their school or some such other disgusting kind of behavior. Anyway, I wouldnt imagine i would be alone in that feeling at all.
Also, and very minor, but perhaps not so minor in the scheme of things - every time I hear you call your program "Skylab" I want to, and in fact do, cringe! It sounds so technical, so cold, so unfeeling, so heartless, so unimaginative (at the least end)...regarding something that is anything but, as you display during "skylab" pieces of video. The name should evoke feelings of love, compassion, caring about something so close and so inextricably wound up in so many emotions in one human being's consciousness...I don't know what that is, but if you could personify the natura of the program it would be a loving, cherubic, sweet old grandmother who was knitting sweaters by the fire always smiling being her bifocals and a loving, caring, supportive presence in whoever's life. Not Skylab! That personified is the big huge steel missile sitting at Cape Canaveral pointing upward like some hard, steel dildo getting ready to penetrate the ass of anyone, here I come, hurling thru the 21st century sky not caring who or what my target is so long as I "penetrate", 'invade", "demoralize" and on and on....do you understand what I mean? I don't know, SkySpirit, SkyLose and Maintain, SkyScaleDown...I really don't know....but hopefully you get some sense of what I mean....
Finally, I live in Las Vegas, but have friends in Pacific Palisades who I visit on a regular basis (well known screenwriter, 2 Oscars on mantle) and if you're ever into it I want to write a screenplay or perhaps theatre play that is based on your life, with help of course....and I've decided that if we get it done fast enough that Sharon Stone would still be young enough looking to play you!
Wishing you all the best, and continued success.
God (or Higher Power/or both) Bless You!
Sincerely,
Mitch

It doesn't surprise me that people were so emotional about exercise. I recently took a dance class and the next day I was in tears and with a migraine. I wasn't in physical pain; it felt like an emotional release. If almost 80% of our diseases are rooted in stress (a statistic quoted in my continuing ed Reflexology seminar this past weekend), why wouldn't we have an emotional release when we start to exercise? We are releasing physical toxins from our bodies from all the chemicals that we eat. Of course we could also release emotional toxins from traumas and stresses we've carried out in our lives. This episode was really validating for me. I'm also excited as I continue on my weight loss track that I'll treat myself to a piece in Jackie's new line! You go girl!

Jackie - you are a hero to all different people for many different reasons. I have just started my husband and I on a diet - after the wedding we just let ourselves go. We have been struggling with the eating healthy aspect and always feel so energized by your show rather than the people at the weightloss center. I wish you could take satallite clients from all over the world - with the way the internet and everything is these days you ought to be able to. Your motivation and encouraging words excite not only those people you have at Sky Lab but also those watching at home. You give us hope!

Not only did you wake your SkyLab clients up to the evils of sugar, you sent a message out to the rest of America. As much as I love sugar, you're right -- we all need to consume far less of it.
I love your show. You all inspire me to believe in myself and take care of myself. Thanks for putting yourselves out there.

About 6 mos ago I learned I have starting diabetes. My dr told me to simply cut out sugar, exercise & lose weight. I have (for the most part) cut out sugar. I don't know how to eat properly. I can't afford a gym membership, mu
