A Magical Day

January 22, 2008

Page 1 | Page 2

Lauri’s wedding was magical. She looked stunning, like the princess she is! From the moment we arrived it was like being in a fabulous hotel -- there were the most amazing flowers everywhere. There were dangling votives from the trees with crystals that made the trees look like chandeliers. The pool was transformed into a dance floor covered with vines. The bridal party of their children was so touching. I was glad Kara hadn’t come because that would have been her expectation for a wedding! The St. Regis did the food and it was five-star all the way. The cake was the centerpiece of the room -- it was beautiful. The tent should have been left up for months it was so unreal. Playboy always had the best tents, and this beat that. All white, romantic, whimsical -- you name it, they did it. All of us were so happy to share their magical day.

Donn loves to hang at home and regroup after a long day talking to people, but we never did get to go to dinner. I think he loves his alone time. I know my husband always did.

It was great seeing Jo for the reunion. She looked adorable. Slade keeps me up to date with Jo info and sightings, so I knew almost everything she was up too. She is excited about the album and it sounded great. The production was awesome, and I think she has some hits in there!

I totally understand about you being mad @ Kara, but in her defense I have to say that a very small diamond on a pretty face can be very attractive. I got my nose pierced when I turned 40 as a gift to myself, my husband couldn't afford the Rolex like Tamara got (LOL).
You and Laurie are really the only housewives that haven't disappointed me or pissed me off in some way and i have been watching since day 1, I even watch the reruns all day while doing my "chores" around the house. Well, except for the comment about Tamara's tattoo being called a "tramp stamp". That kinda stung. Tattoo's are like plastic surgery, botox or anything else we want to do that we feel makes us look better....personal preference......common Jeana of ALL people I didn't expect that comment from you. I am NO BIG Tamara fan, but come on.....tramp stamp?
I still love ya and think it's cool that you were a playmate and not ashamed of it.

Dear Jeana:
I enjoyed watching you over the course of the season. I empathize with you over the end of your marriage. Take heart for you are a lovely woman with a strong intellect and an inner beauty that will serve you well in the years to come. You are a genuinely nice person and good things lie in wait for you. Seeing your season come to an end is almost like the end of a college school year where you say goodbye to the friends you have made over the year. A little sad to think I won't be tuning in each week for awhile to catch up on life in the OC. Well, until you return, best wishes to you. By the way, glad to see you catching up with your friends from Playboy. It is a proud past.

What a sweetie, or at least what I can get from the show Jeana is. I was so hoping for her that the marriage would work out but, as we all know in life all things don't. And, I am sure there are better days ahead for Jeana. She seem's like someone who would be nice to know, fun to hang out with as she has her serious side and her fun side. I wish you all the best in the upcoming New Year !!

Jeana,

First of all, I want to say, I think your are beautiful. I am a huge fan of The Girls Next Door, and I often think, wow! Jeana was once a playmate. I think you are still gorgeous and I think you are by far the best Mom on the show. You totally support your kids and you are always there as a friend. You are doing great for yourself and I hope one day you find that special someone that returns the love to you! Good luck

All of the times that you have been so candid are appreciated by me and many others I am sure.
Thank you for sharing your life with all of us!

Jeana,

I wanted to write because I love the show, and most of all I wanted to tell you that you are my favorite house wife. You are very down to earth. Also in the show I notice you make many comments about how you used to look, almost coming down on yourself for the change in your looks. To me I think you are the prettiest house wife on the show!! Also you look great from working out I can notice a difference. Nice to hear updates on your family life, thanks for sharing.

Happy New Year. I came in half way through the first season and related to you girls. Working hard and trying to live up to the Look, while taking care of kids with little to no help.

I just wondered what happened to Kimberly, who was shown on the webpage? Do you know or keep in touch?

Be well!

I have walked the path you are traveling, one step at a time will get you where you need to be. If the nose stone is the worst thing Kara does then you are lucky. Pick your battles.Thank you and all the other OC ladies for allowing housewives from NC into your lives. I can't even imagine living the lifestyle you all live. 3-0 in this market you go girl!!!

Your children appear to be well and that is all good. I hope you will have a great time during the season's break and return again for season 4. No one seems to be talking about that. Please have someone let us, the show's fans, know what is going to happen.
We all wait impatiently for a new season.

You're my absolute favorite on the show! You're not TRYING to be funny, sexy, silly, smart, you just ARE naturally and you are such a CLASS ACT! No wonder you're so successful in your career. I would trust you 100% if I was the buyer or seller, you have that certain type of personality that is believable and trusting. I loved the line "Frankie is like me, we'd give you the shirt off our back...Vicki would sell you hers." I absolutely loved the end of show on how many houses sold stats: Jeana 3, Tamra 0. I screamed and let out a big woohoo (well, not as loud and obnoxious as Vicki's....lmao). You made the whole experience REAL and a true joy to watch, so thanks! (I also enjoyed Lauri and Tammy - they're the next best things to the real deal, but you're still #1 in my book!). I wish you much happiness in your future.
All the best,
Linda
P.S. I sense sadness when you talk about Matt. Any chance for a second chance? Never say Never....

This season you really SHINED which leads me to believe your really happy now. Your such a beautiful lady, I can tell you'd be a friend you could trust to the grave. And yes, one of the best scenes this season was Tammy's wax!! LOL But then again Vicki's outrageous personality keeps me in stitches much of the time she's on the show. I hope you two remains great friends, I think yourgreat for each other even though your so different. I love you both!

Ok, Ok! I am an empty nester,my last child of four left a few months ago and my husband and I are trying to get to know each other again. Some days are good and some are well? Anyway, a friend gave me the best book in the world and I would like to suggest it to you and tell the author that I would like a 1/2% in royalties from all of this free publilicity. So contact my attorney at: (307) NO, I'm kidding..The book is called "Simple Abundance" by Sarah Ban Breathnach.
Well Jeana, you're in my thoughts and prayers and even though I have faced the piercing problem. . .I will not tell you what I think you should tell Kara to do. You are an awesome woman and I have watched from the very first day and if I move out of this very small place in which I reside, you will be able to take partial credit for getting me started in real estate. And, NO, Tamara, you will not be getting any credit for the the real estate starting thing, sorry. It was before you came on the show.

Hi Gina you are my favorite wife.

I was happy to see your trainer at your party. It's so important to stay fit and healthy (not so much for how you look although no one will complain about that benefit).

As far as Lauri's wedding, it truly was a romatic fantasy. I too did not let my daughter (17) see that as that is what she will want too, not happening.

On this last episode I saw that Shane will play this season with the Kane County Cougars. I think thats awesome, the Cougars always do a reading program for the elemetary kids here and if they read enough they get to go to a game for free. Just because its close and I adore you I think my family will get season tickets this season so we can cheer Shane on for you. And if I remember correctly Kim is now living in Chicago so perhaps she'll go for you or if you travel to see him at least you will know someone pretty well. And I believe Vicky is originally not to far (about an hour maybe hour and a half) from where the Cougars play. In Kane county there is not alot of 5star places to choose from, I've stayed at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles and its nice just not your standards, for what you'd appreciate the city of Chicago has the answers plus some great night life but again its a drive to where the Cougars play (another hour give or take traffic issues).

Keep up all the great work,, I think you are a fantastic mother and a good wife. I hope you can find peace and happiness for yourself because you surly deserve it. I'm so proud that Kara is in Berkley (shes a good girl she'll be okay ) Now its only Colton at home and boy is he a handful for you the jokester, the sport guy and hopefully the good grades as well, Boy with 3 terrific kids like that you have done Great things.

It sends the most positive message that divorce doesn't have to destroy you, but that you can navigate yourself into a better more happy if not positive you. If you ever decide to take on a personal assistant let me know to send in a resume, you would be a pleasure to work for. Best of luck for the new year.

You have done a great job in raising your children, and you did all you could to save your marriage. I don't know what it feels like, but I'm sure that at times you just wish the camera wasn't there. I admire all the women and their families for what you do and go through on the show. It must not be easy to have the entire world watching your every move on TV, but course I know Bravo edits a lot of material that never airs on TV. I wish you and everyone on the show the best of luck. Remember in life money isn't everything in the world. The most important thing in this world is family & health. Keep on rockin with the real estate business in Coto, maybe when I hit the lotto one day I can come see you so you can sell me a house. Until that day comes I’ll just keep on watching the show and be one of your biggest fans.

Anyways you are a wonderful beautiful woman you truly make me believe I can accomplish anything I want as a single mom. I was pregnant when the show first aired and the father had split. I thought all my dreams were out the window but you guys really inspire me now the dreams I had before I became pregnant have grown to even bigger and better things. I love you, Vicki, and Lauri. You guys are my favorite. I pray that I become as successful and wealthy as you all are. My dream is to raise my daughter in a place like the OC the show inspires me. REAL housewives go to work, raise children and reward themselves with or without a man. You guys work hard and you have fun. I LOVE YOU GUYS. You are a great friend to be able to deal with Vicki and still love her the way you do she is lucky to have you. I wish you would give to yourself a little more than you do. Teach your youngest son to respect you more. Last but not least I think you should treat your self to an extream make over. Jeana has the gift of familiarity. She's the one in the room who seems to speak your language, and can make ironic world-wise comments without being unkind. Most women would want a woman like her as a friend, and most thinking guys would want her as a long-term girlfriend -- she has a wicked side, but she's also capable of the sanest conversation at breakfast you could possibly ask for. One issue: there's a paradox at the center of her personality, which I recognize because I share it: An instinct for finding a way in which to be alone even while proving invaluable to other people. She can yield to total sexual/physical attraction but somehow neglects herself in the process. The irony of privileging sexual attraction and success in a relationship is that it can lead to emotional abstinence, which feels like a second kind of chastity. If I could fix one thing in her and in myself, it would be to always privilege a sense of emotional connection. Jeana connects with the audience of Desperate Housewives as a regular person who has talent, success and drive. It really doesn't matter that she was once a playmate except that it could mean something interesting about her personality -- that she's as comfortable getting attention as giving it, perhaps, or that she has courage, or that she is either not a prude or wants to escape the idea of being one, or that she recognized entrepreneurial potential in what certain people see as exploitation. It also seems to have been symptomatic of her having been 20-ish in the objectifying 80s, which apotheosized strength, physical beauty and material success. Those things seem important to Jeana, but her attachment to her children shows that success is great fun, but family is a lifeline.

She has the rare ability to move people with her vulnerability, which people who provide support and sympathy for everyone else are often unable to do. That gift makes her beautiful in ways that transcend the physical: It ensures that people will see the beauty in her thirty years from now. My wish for her is that she will learn to treasure in men what others can see in her: openness, support, wit, sanity and sensitivity. May her taste in friends usurp her romantic preoccupations. May warmth and support trump height and curly mustaches.

It must be hard to accept the change when her children epitomize a certain kind of American physical beauty, just as she and her husband once did. But it has to be accepted. Time and age pare human bodies to human voices. She deserves to find a compatible voice with which to be entwined. Her familiar soul deserves an inviting niche.

Hi Jeana,
You are my favorite housewilfe for all the same reasons that everyone one else blogs. One thing did disturb me on one of the last episodes. It was when you said your son Shane said, " ...He wasn't mad that you did playboy, he was mad you didn't look like that anymore." (first of all let me just say you are gorgeous)
Although I would hate for anyone to judge me on hearing something insensitive my children have said, that one just seamed so insensitive for a person of his age. I hope you smacked him for that one. If not, I think you are being to nice to your kids. They seem to be over all very good kids, parties and all, but for him to feel comfortable to say something that hurtful to you and not even think any thing of it, I think you know how that comes off. Listen, just in case you didn't, smack him one for me next time you see him! I hope he does well, he does seem like a great kid.

All you ladies looked lovely at Lauri's wedding; however, I think you would all look more chic with shorter hairdos. Long hair is so yesterday (check out Victoria Beckham's look). I think you would all look great in something short and sassy. Just a suggestion.

Jeana, you are my favorite on the show. You are so real and down to earth. You work hard for your money and have raised great kids. I hope the next year brings you a wonderful man to treat you the way you deserve. You are doing fine on your own, but it would be even better if you found a George too.

You are my favorite housewife. All the money, all the prestige, and you are not fake or phony. You are so genuine.
I am sending my daughter off to college in the fall so I have paid very close attention and I hope that I can handle this life change as well as you have!
Thank you for your inspiration.

I'm crying thinking about that "facial" over morning coffee! What a moment!!

Regarding Kara's nose piercing. Everytime I see one, I react to it the same as seeing someone with a buger (sp) on their nose. It's just not right.

Not to worry Jeanna. The hole scar can be cosmetically removed for around $5 to $10 thousand. Similar to fixing stretched ear piercings. Tell Kara to save her money.

Gonna miss you guys! See you next season?

Jeana,
You are my favorite of all the housewives because you are one class act. I know you will find someone to appreciate you like so many of us do. Kara is a fabulous young woman. You raised her well. Shane and Colton need a kick in the pants sometimes when I see him treating you without an ounce of appreciation. You have given all three of them uncondional love and support all their lives. Your real estate business is doing well because you have a gift of a wonderful heart. I've been watching since the first episode and I'm totally addicted. I grew up in Orange County and am tickled pink when I see my old childhood stomping grounds. I can't wait for the next season! Remember, the fans love you....

Hi Jeana,

I think you're great and watching the changes in your life the past year reminds me of grace under pressure. I would like to say I hope you relax over Kara's nosering though. Out of all the kids on the show she always was my favorite. You've raised her to think for herself and you know that will serve her best in her life. She's a good young woman with a tiny dot on her nose. If it makes her feel cool, or independent, or like a rebel, good for her. She may tire of it after a while......

I think that you are one of my favorites. You were a gorgeous playmate and you still look hot. All the people that say your too overweight are stupid. I mean for women that are your age and still look hot i say go girlll!!! And you seem like a great mom and I think its good that unlike the other housewives you don't get drunk in front of your kids and look like completely ridiculous. Your great! Show those NY housewives what trash they are!

You are such an beautiful person and my favortie housewife! You are there for your children, I can tell because you talk about them in that proud mom persona. They really are great kids and I beleive that is because of the mom you have been to them. I see that you are not materialistic, but realistic. You are proud and confident of who you are! You are not defined by material possessions, needing expensive things or chasing the carrot like a manic to procure material luxuries.to prove anything to anyone or have material possessions define you! You know what is important, your family and kids and that is so very apparent.

Do not fret about the nose ring thing. My step daughter got one and well, she is over 18. She needs to go through and make her own mistakes, stumble, dust herself off and get up again. My step daughters nose ring lasted only a couple years because of the job she has, they do not allow it. Trust me there are worse things that she could tell you!

Congrats to Shane on getting signed with the Kane County Cougars! IThere are no 5 star places around here (in Kane County), but it is quaint and the most people are nice. It is a far cry from an OC lifestyle though!

Keep doing what you are doing. You look GREAT! I am sorry about your divorce. I bet it is hard. I saw my mother go through one, but I also saw her come out of her shell, I saw her start to live her life, I saw her smile more, enjoy more....it will get easier! Through the show I see positive changes in your life, in you so just keep going!

Its inspirational dont change a thing!

I just really got started watching the show this season, but I watched a few of last seasons. I just wanted to say you look wonderful! Keep up the good work. I look up to you and I hope I can do the same thing. I am a full time mother and a full time Legal Administrative Assistant, I have 2 children ages 5 and almost 2 and I wish I had time to work out myself. I really have gotten unhealthy (ie., high blood and low blood sugar) since having my children and I really need to lose 50 pounds. Keep up the good work!

Jeana, I am so proud of the way you have handled every aspect of your life. I realize that TV makes it worse than it really is...actually they take the trueness out of alot, I give you alot of credit for hanging in there. I hope that there is a season four for the OC girls, I am from upstate New York and I feel that the Wives of OC have alot more class than the ones from New York. Thank you so much for letting us into your life, it shows all of us that no matter how rich in money one is the problems are all the same.

G ~ My mom went through some of the things we've seen you go through with your husband, and at the time I wanted nothing more than for her to be happy. Right down to the hunting dogs!! I can't imagine her going through that kind of thing on tv - so you have my admiration for your strength.

Don't be too worried about the nose piercing - there is a time and a place for everything, and it's college!! And the nose piercing will come out. I pierced mine twice in college, AND I did the tattoo thing (thankfully in places that I can easily cover to look professional). And I still ended up rockin' medical school. :o)

Best of luck!!

See you next season! :-)

You are sexy intelligent and if Matt can see past that he never loved you unconditionally. Pick your head up there is tons of men out there including myself who would kill to be in your company. Jeana,

I was heart sick to hear that Kara had pierced her nose. I was very surprised at her also. I can only imagine how that effected you also. No matter what the kids say, divorce does make them angry, more or less at the situation more than you or your husband. I wish the Keogh family the very best of luck while you are going through this transition period with the kids growing up at the same time you are divorcing. Like my husband yours was not home much either, so that makes it a little easier. I wish you the Best Jeana. Take CAre, Jodie

I am a new mom and want to enjoy my daughter every second. It took me over 5 long years to conceive. If you could give me guidence I would be so grateful! The note brokering I have not closed a deal. I am not sure if it will pan out. Do you think getting my real estate licence would be a good idea? What could I do to stay home and work as much as possible?
