Well Parker Patriots, for obvious reasons, I am going to name Episode 3 “Live & Learn!”

Live & Learn #1: "Heater fairies" do not drop heaters out of the sky when it is cold--you have to order them! Michael Twomey, what were you thinking? You are a great guy, but you're in way, way over your head. A big part of the hotel business--and what I teach all of my concierge--is to expect the unexpected. It happens everyday, and you have to be ready for it.
Live & Learn #2: Never send a novice to check in a V.I.P. Since this incident, a manager--usually myself or one of the Front Office Managers--walk all V.I.P.'s to their room. We actually know the North building from the South building and can find the rooms!

Oh man what a mess your hotel is. It seems obvious that you are going to fire Twomey pretty soon. And your big manager...what a pain in the ass. Tells the employes one thing one day and something else the next. Like i said...it sure doesnt seem like a five star hotel.
And tell me why do you keep having VIPs come while the whole mess is being filmed?

John: Thomas is crazy! How can he insist on canceling a $4,000 party suite for a VIP with over 40 guest rooms on the day of the party?! No hotel manager in their right mind would ever do that! The Parker will never be 5-star as long as Thomas is in charge!

roderick, you have to keep in mind that most of what's going on is behind the scenes. That's the point of this show...to allow people a peek inside the hotel's inner workings.
What counts to the guests is the service they recieve and at Parkers the guests ALWAYS leave happy and usually making arrangements to return.
It's all that hecticness that we're seeing on this program that keeps the place running smoothly for each guest.
I use to supervise a kitchen at Lazarus in Indy. You would not believe what all would happen at the last minute, but our customers were never aware, because it was handled behind the scenes and when they were served, they got what they were expecting. The adrenaline kicks in and you get the job done. I Loved That Rush!
Shop Vacs? Unfortunate, but if you want the water up before it seeps into the walls, there's no other choice. They are noisy. But sometimes you just have to rise above and sing a little louder.
I missed last nights episode, but I'll catch it this week. I do remember being told about the flood by that man of mine ;-)
With the ingenuity of engineering, the grace you possess (John) and Michael Crawford's smile, I'm sure that all ended well at Parkers.
A quiet shop vac would be a good invention though!
Hugs.

John, My partner and I have enjoyed watching you and your co-workers on the show immensely. You are the man who is the pulse of the Parker and your live and learn rules are hilarious. Having been a hotel emplyee when we lived in Key West I know there hasn't been much you haven't seen or done for a guest and I respect men and women like you who make the magic. Jeff and i want to fly out and spend a romantic weekend at the Parker now and meet all of you. The show is fast becoming a ritual here at our home
