The first time I came to NYC was 12 years ago. I was visiting with my family, and it was then I officially decided that I love NY and would be returning. It's also the first time I got to see the inside of the NBC Studios. We took the typical tour, I played weatherman, clapped on cue and walked around in complete awe, thinking: “Maybe one day….”
Now, there are few things in life that make a girl’s dreams come true. One is finding the man of her dreams and getting married, which I'm well on my way to becoming (but we'll get to that). The second is being invited into the NBC Studios, and being officially -- yes, officially -- asked to write a weekly blog. Now, I know the line: "Dreams do come true" can sound trite -- but there is no greater moment and no better time in my life when this saying is so accurate.
Project Runway has been the start of a magical road, that has led me to places I once could only have dreamed of taking. It's been:
Trying and tough.
Rewarding and humbling.
Exhilarating and surreal.
But most importantly it's been real and it's been true.

I LOVE the kimono dress and I'm so glad it has helped bring a great deal of much-deserved attention to you and your designs! I hope that versatile, adjustable clothing - like your wrap dress that adjusts to a woman's figure instead of having to be tailored to fit - beome more widely appreciated and produced in the future. It's beautiful, versatile and practical - and sure to become a modern classic.

Hei Kara!
It's so cool to see that you're going to be blogging now! Is it more of a Daniel Vosovic experience-update blog or a critique on each runway episode?
Either would be cool. Great to hear from you and see you soon!

Kara,
I, like so many others out there, LOVE THAT KIMONO DRESS! If only I was a wealthy socialite instead of a just-out-of-college toy company employee-- I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
And I was also devestated to see Malan go! I really wish his dress had turned out more like his sketch, which I thought was gorgeous.
Keep blogging!

I was very impressed by your "decoy" runway collection. I saw it on the website, and it really showed who you are as a designer, since you had some time to put into it, away from the pressures of the time constraints of the show. Your collection was different and fresh, as well.To be honest, it took me by suprise, and I thought that it was wonderful for you that you got to have a show in the "big tents." You seem to be doing well. Take care.

Kara -
I saw you on the 6 train about a month ago. I wanted to say hi, but figured you get bombarded by PR fans all the time. However I gather from reading your blog, that you and I would have had a great chat. I hope that our paths cross again.
I just loved your spirit on the show! You seemed really relaxed your entire run and given the situation, that was very impressive. The kimono dress is FABULOUS! I'm going to see if I can make the trunk show. If not, make sure you post the next one.
Cheers,
Kameka

I'm so happy that things are going well for you. The fact that you pushed & pushed & pushed until you couldn't push anymore resulted in such a beautiful collection & raving reviews, we all couldn't be more thrilled. It didn't matter that you're fourth, the collection you presented alongside Chloe, Daniel & Santino, took my breath away. You deserve every single good thing coming your way. Keep on creating, designing, making beautiful clothes. Besides your fiance & family, you have lots of fans out there cheering for you. Like you said "I Love You... I Love You...!!" :-)

Kara, it seems you weren't the only one devastated by Malan's departure -- I've been reading through a variety of Bravo Boards in the past few weeks, and dismay over Malan's elimination seems to be a recurring theme . . . people really want to see him come back, whether this season or next . . . so if you have a chance to communicate such to Project Runway producers, making sure they're aware of that pervading sentiment, I know a lot of viewers out there would be grateful to you. . .

Hated Malan's dress. Looked like a cat had attacked it or someone with a pair of sewing shears in a fit. Really hated to see him go. Why couldn't it have been Angela? I mean the way she shrewed at Vincent. You would think they were husband and wife the way she talked to him. Really liked the kimono dress you wore on the runway. Glad to see that you're having such success with it.

Kara, I've heard raving things about your decoy collection, but I wasn't tuned into Project Runway at that time. Where could I see photos of your decoy collection? They weren't on Season 2's DVD and I was seriously disappointed because rumors have it that your decoy collection was one of the stronger shows.
