Darlings!!! It's the week after fashion week, everyone is traveling to London to see the inventive designs of the English set. What I would do to take a holiday, but I've just opened a new showroom in midtown and there are meetings and things to attend to. We closed the shop downtown to focus on wholesale.
I attended a beautiful memorial this week for the brilliant Betty Comden -- the creator of "Singing in the Rain," "On the Town," and many of the most memorable films and musicals of all time. The show started with Lauren Bacall with performances by Elaine Stritch, Christine Ebersol, Lilias White and many others -- even Lypsinka performed my favorite Comden and Green song from "Its Always Fair Weather." Then Barbra Cook, in acapella voice, sang the song "Some other Time." There was not a dry eye in the room. What a legacy to leave behind. The room looked like the old newsreels of the MGM star dinners. Everyone from my dear friend Michael Feinstein to Celeste Holm.

I have decided to get back into shape this week. One of my friends in Washington state, Russ at www.complete-fitness-design.com who is a physical trainer created a food program to suit my daily needs, one that not only provides everything I need in a day, but also helps burn calories by speeding up my metabolism. This program is so simple and its recommended by someone who looks like this... I trust that recommendation.
I am flying to Los Angeles next week to start shooting a film. I have not acted in a couple of years , I am so nervous. But preparing for this has made me think how brilliant it would be to write a show of song and dance about my NY journey. Something with audience participation. If this happens you have to come.
I had a meeting today with my consultant, we are going into accesories, so everyone can own a sleek and chic piece of Malan Breton, Hehe!
I want to ask you all to write down three things this week that make autumn so memorable for you. I love the changing of the leaves in central park, the crisp air, and fall fashions.
I would also like to invite you all to join my group on Myspace page, where you can share, learn and be inspired.
Sadly it will be a while until we launch the men's line -- I will tell you why later.
I am off to prepare for a couture showing of work that was not shown at fashion week. To all of you... let your light shine this week, reach farther then you ever have to accomplish your dreams.
Love,
malan

You do so much my love. I've always admired Betty Comden and Adoph Greene's work. I don't know how they did it, they just knew how to make American icons! OMGOMGOMG You HAAAAAAAAAVE to write a show! Please? And a part in it for me? lol, j/k. Darling you could do a one-man show. You've been so many places and done so many things in your life already! But first, I wanna see this movie.
