"Blue skies... Shining on me, nothing but blue skies"

The weather in NY has been astounding! I love what they call 'Indian Summers' here. Darlings, the last month has been full of premieres, charities and perhaps one of the most touching memorials for a woman who once influenced a major change in my life.

This week is the premiere of my muse Bronwen's new play Mrs. Barry's Marriage at the 45th street theatre. If you are in NYC and can see it, this is the most touching show, with one of the best talents to come from Australia since Nicole Kidman.

Malan.... Lucie Arnaz and I have a very special connection. When Lucille Ball was pregnant for Lucie in 1951, she was sitting in the ladies lounge at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood when my mom came in holding me. Mom had to use the ladies room, so Lucy asked if she could hold me for a while. She babysat me for about 20 minutes and for that time, Lucie Arnaz and I were VERY close indeed!! I wrote to Lucie about 5 years ago and shared my story and she generously wrote back a sweet response. The other connection I have with Lucie is that we are both related back several generations in the "Sprague" line and have a common ancestor along with her mom Lucy. I hope one day to meet Lucie in person. Lucky you!!!

Let me know when you have your trunk show at the Parker in Palm Springs! (Big hint!!)

I love NYC in the fall. I wish I could live there, but I do not think I will ever to be able to afford it. LOL. I hope fashion week is fabulous for you. I know it will, your Malan. The best!!

I know one thing is for sure. I am going to one day be able to buy a Malan Breton original. Your clothes are absolutely gorgeous.

I look forward to your next post.
