It was a cold rainy morning, the wind coming from the west was shrill. My driver pulled up to the Lincoln center and there was a line of people around the building. Darlings, it was the morning of the premiere runway show.
I had a chance to meet some of you as you waited patiently in line. I was escorted in and then there she was... The Beautiful Nina Garcia! I was then introduced to the Housewives and then the show began. Darlings each designer gave their all to make it on the show that would change my life forever.

The show started with Kevin. He presented a beautiful array Rock inspired clothing whose cuts and fits were modern fabrics were inventive and very sportif. What an exciting beginning to my introduction to the season four designers.

With a million neon rainbows surrounding me -- first Dallas, then NYC, and then?
Darlings, I have just come from a two week travel and taping excursion. My show at Brooklyn fashion week was cancelled so I hopped on to a plane and flew to Dallas where I would be presenting at Dallas fashion week.
We arrived at Dallas Fort worth Airport with the CEO of my company and went straight to the Dallas-Mart where we were greeted by Alden Clannahan the gentleman who arranged our showroom and events. After setting up, I dressed and prepared myself for a party at the home of Harlen Crowe, the gracious host whose home is filled with unique objects of art.

The weather in NY has been astounding! I love what they call 'Indian Summers' here. Darlings, the last month has been full of premieres, charities and perhaps one of the most touching memorials for a woman who once influenced a major change in my life.
This week is the premiere of my muse Bronwen's new play Mrs. Barry's Marriage at the 45th street theatre. If you are in NYC and can see it, this is the most touching show, with one of the best talents to come from Australia since Nicole Kidman.

Darlings!!! It's the week after fashion week, everyone is traveling to London to see the inventive designs of the English set. What I would do to take a holiday, but I've just opened a new showroom in midtown and there are meetings and things to attend to. We closed the shop downtown to focus on wholesale.
I attended a beautiful memorial this week for the brilliant Betty Comden -- the creator of "Singing in the Rain," "On the Town," and many of the most memorable films and musicals of all time. The show started with Lauren Bacall with performances by Elaine Stritch, Christine Ebersol, Lilias White and many others -- even Lypsinka performed my favorite Comden and Green song from "Its Always Fair Weather." Then Barbra Cook, in acapella voice, sang the song "Some other Time." There was not a dry eye in the room. What a legacy to leave behind. The room looked...]]>
A pink suit, Van Cleef and Arpels, and the beautiful Kelly Choi. Fashion week was upon us. All of New York was abuzz, thousands of people flew in with the idea that they would be seeing the newest and best of the fashion lot. Then suddenly there was the sight of black lacquer surround by a red carpet Misha Barton, Jennifer Hudson, Bai Ling, Jessica Simpson. Camera flashes, running at full speed. I do not know how anyone's eyes get used to it. Then there was Fern Mallis. Parties, Shows, everything from Malandrino to Willow, to Zac Posen.
I remember my first fashion week here, seeing the shows, meeting Liz Tilberis, Princess Diana, Shalom Harlow, Linda Evangelista. How different things are now.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is August, and what a brilliant summer it has been so far. Now, I am starting to prepare for another season at NY fashion week. This collection is moving in an eco friendly direction, and I have lots of surprises. Some so sexy that, well, you will have to wait and see…
This week was full of meetings: meetings with design houses, public relations firms, sample makers, pattern makers, and other organizations. The details that go into a show are endless, but the outcome is always amazing.

This is a quote from a 1991 music video. What have we learned in the sixteen years since, and how have we put those lessons to use towards the conservation of our earth? Paula Abdul's video for her single, "Promise of a New Day", ended with this quote. I remember being immersed in her work from an early age. "Straight Up" was everyone’s favorite choreography to learn when I was a boy. The video for "Cold Hearted Snake" conjured images of one of my other soon to be dance icons: Bob Fosse!

Then there was the premiere of Rupaul's new movie, “Starbooty.” Rupaul came along at the time of the Supermodel, and my favorite ever was Linda Evangelista. I remember her beauty on the catwalks for Chanel and Dior when Galliano first took the house name. And I remember meeting her when I first came to New York in 1997, introduced to me by Herb Ritts. Beautiful!

Ava was one of the most beautiful singers with a crystal clear voice and the looks of a television starlet. Many years later, I ran into Ava at Birdland -- she was playing Maureen in Rent on Broadway and on her way to shoot a TV show in Los Angeles. She was to be Gina Gambarro in the TV show "Ugly Betty."

Hello my beautiful darlings! How are you? This week was the Tribeca film festival. An amazing time to experience some of the greatest international talent. Directors from all over the world are honored at the festival. I was so lucky to be there and to dress a special someone for her premiere.
Monday night started with an amazing event for Live Out Loud. It was a night that will stay with me for many years to come. Live Out Loud embraces diversity, and gives the youth of today an opportunity to fulfill their higher education granting amazing scholarships. Leo Preziosi, the founder is an brilliant and kind man. I was honored to be a part of it.
