Nick and Jeffrey Sebelia: Together, for One-Time Only! Better than Barbara Streisand and Donna Summer, Brandi and Monica and Fred and Ginger. I never thought I would be paired up with the “Bad Boy” of Project Runway. And I am sure neither did he. For the last year and a half, I have been invited around the country to do the “lecture circuit” and speak to students at various universities. I have been to Kansas, Washington, Michigan, and now Kutztown University had invited not just me, but Jeffrey as well, to come and speak. At first, I asked why me and Jeffrey? Was Santino busy doing some other event or designing another MTV dress? Then quickly I realized “why not?” Instead of the “Bad Boy” tour, it’s the “Opposite Boys Tour”.
I had met Jeffrey before at Project Runway events as well as attended two of his Los Angeles Fashion Week shows. He had always been very cordial and kind. I guess because of the persona one saw on TV, I expected this “I don’t give a You-Know-What who you are” attitude from him, but it was quite the opposite every time I saw him. I especially loved his mom, who was always the classiest of women. But this time, we were going to lecture and speak to a whole auditorium of students and Project Runway fans. I still somehow felt like I needed his mom out in the audience for support, not for him but for me!

Dear Nick,
Glad to see you are still blogging to your loyal fans.
However --
I have but one question: Why, oh why would you agree to team up with someone so devoid of integrity and talent? You are such a class act and HE was without class or charm. JS can't shine your shoes. (I never watch S-3 reruns due to his mullet topped mug. Conversely, I continiue to enjoy your S-2 due to your elegant presence (& most of the castmates). Unfortunately, Santino was more annoying than a gnat. No wonder he is friends with JS.
Although you speak well of HIM, it is hard to fathom that editing of S-3 misrepresented him completely. Oh, well. I guess fashion lecture circuits make strange bedfellows.
Best wishes to your continued good fortune and happy holidays!

Well if this doesn't put Kutztown, PA on the map, I just don't know what will.
Having Nick & Jeffrey at KU was definitely the best event Kutztown has ever had! We were so honored to have the two of them at our school, and we really won't ever forget it! It was a great experience being able to hear the truely inspiring stories of these fabulous designers! We are a lucky little state school, to say the very least. Thanks a lot guys!

Project Runway is one of the few shows that I can not miss. I completely respect and admire the talented people on that show each season. I can understand the hard work and dedication it takes to get there, in addition to your natural talent and creativity.
I am a Kutztown alum with a BFA in printmaking and fibers. I wish someone had told me you guys were going to be there!
Come to Kutztown again and we'll share some shoo-fly pie with you!

I haven't missed an episode of Project Runway since its debut. Over all I detest Reality TV... all except Project Runway and my other favorite, Top Chef. Bravo has raised the bar for reality shows by tailoring the show towards people who actually know how to DO things. It's creative and it gets my creative juices pumping! After watching a show, fabric starts flying 'cause I just gotta make something!
What I have enjoyed watching through the progression of the series is the camraderie that has developed between several members of all the seasons. I feel like we're watching history in the making when I see all of these talented designers popping up everywhere together and I just know that we're getting a glimpse of the fashion world as it evolves. It's like a changing of the guard and it's great! Keep it up, Bravo, and Nick, Jay, Santino, and Austin! I hope to see more of you inspiring tomorrow's designers!

Nick! Thank you so much for making it out to Kutztown! Seeing you, Jeffery, and Jay really made my month (semester even)! Coming from such a small town these little speaking engagements are something that we all will probably remember for a long time. The two of you spoke so earnestly it was great to have you and Jeffrey together. Your styles and stories complimented each other so well that no one would have known that this wasn't an ongoing pairing for the lecture circuit! Thank you SO much for coming!

I was so so so so jealous when I found out about this. Why wasn't Kutztown so cool when I went there??? Waaah!
The visual arts department there is truly amazing. I almost feel bad about not being able to warn you how friggen cold it is in that valley. Did you wave hi to the Mennonites and their buggies?
And, finally - I think it all shuts down around 2:00. You would have had to go to one of those infamous art student house parties. *g* And I hear they are legendary.

It is great to see three really creative, innovative designers come together like this. So jealous I couldn't have been in attendance!!! Lucky PA people!!!
I also think Jeffrey wasn't so bad. He's obviously been through a lot and he had to put up with Angela's annoying self.....I think that may put anyone over the edge....but I can't talk too much crap, I have never met or co-existed with any of these people. Much love to you Nick and Happy Holidays!

Now if only UMass would invite people as amazing as you three. =) It must've been quite the presentation, especially after Jay showed up. Three very distinct styles, three very interesting men. You guys should go on tour together! (Semi-joking)

I said it before, I will say it again you rocked my school and it was by far the best event to hit our little town. Thanks again for taking time out to make this year special for us. It's so funny because you can create such a buzz just mentioning the event in a small group of people and it spreads to anyone who passes by. You are truly an inspiration, thanks again!

I wish that PR (and the design world in general) would pay a bit more attention to us "mature" ladies who have suffered the slings and arrows of a well-lived life and bear our lumps and bumps as proof. I love fashion, but can't wear the currant designs- I would look ridiculous in Christian's teeny pants and mounds of ruffles. I have started to sew in an attempt to develop my "own" style and as a creative outlet. But I wish I could walk into Macy's (for example) and find a reasonable and attractive off the rack when I need something fast. Just a thought...
