Padma sent in another of her famous video blogs last night! And we're pleased as punch to get her take on the episode. To watch the video blog in its entirety, go here.
But that's not all! Our own supermodel gourmet also honored us by stopping by the live online "Top Chef" After-show and shared some juicy bits on whether she has ever been attracted to Tom, what her favorite clothing lines are, and how she got her start in the world of food. To see the episode, including a call from Padma's mother, click here.

Great episode guys! I get more excited every week for the finale. Go Casey and Hung!! You will be the last two standing. Bye bye Sara, your a mess. Hey Dale, maybe you would have like Hung just to cook the quick fire for you. You need to be the next one to go and you will. Padma, could you find a tighter blouse? It was funny to watch you this week. It was apparent you were trying to be someone your not in the presence of all those world class chefs. Even Tom was humbled to be in their presence. You were just putting your boobs out there and not and expert presence. Looking forward to the finale and will watch the reruns till the next season!!!!!!!!!Rock On!!!

Male chauvinism reins. Two old white men just couldn't give a woman a break. "I'd love to pick you (Casey) because you're so attractive" from OWM #1. Then Tom, "coq au vin is a rooster" is another lobster/cholesterol fiasco. Than OWM#2 "you can't cook it in two hours." I just spent a week in Paris eating wonderful food. All coq au vin was made with chicken. But what do they know? The comments on Casey's dish were "perfect, beautiful presentation, seasoned properly" nothing was wrong. But Hung won even with gummy potatoes. These OWM are not in the 21st century. Then Dale leaves his sauce off and you send Sara home! Sara showed her leadership capabilities, Casey works well with people, Dale can't lead because he doesn't know where he's going, Brian (what is classic about pheasant sausage) darts around trying to find a target, and Hung can't lead because no one would follow.

Creativity !
Brian He better cook his behind off at the Finale because I can almost predict he might be the 1st eliminated . That Dish LAst night looked not so appealing , but he showed strong fundimentals
Casey has realy stepped it up Im really starting to think if she was sandbagging her Talent ? , But any way She can become Top Chef if she continues to think outside the box like she has been I still want to see maybe her technical side more 5 starish quality .
?Hung is a very Cocky guy , but you have to appreciate his intensity and passion for cooking and i think that is a quality that cannot be teached , That is his bread and butter to becoming a great Chef and possibly Top Chef

Padma, you are so right when you say Casey cooks well because she cooks well, not just because she is a woman. Hung pulled through in this challenge using good techniques, but I keep feeling that Casey's good karma and good sportsmanship, in addition to her talent, will come back to reward her.
The chefs are talented, no doubt. But when Dale says that Hung has technique and no heart, it spotlights the positive disposition of this year's chefs. Rarely do competition shows display contestants supporting each other and TC is elevated because of it. (Not to mention the judges!) No disrespect to Hung, but it's just a feeling I have that this aura of positivity will reward the one most deserving.

I was hoping other viewers noticed the sexism in the last episode! The guest judge's comments on Casey's attractiveness, and saying her quickfire dish was "better than any" but then choosing Hung instead. It was like the guest judge found Casey pretty but couldn't take her seriously. And I agree with the comments on Dale -- I like Dale, but how could he expect Hung to outline instructions on cooking the quickfire dish? It's a competition!

padma and gail should have a cook off also since gail was so insulted by finding a small piece of her chicken under cooked let her put her chef skills on the table.
some of your guest chef should really take it easy on some of these guys. what they dont remember how it was when they first started out how many mistakes did they make and i know for a fact the they all made some no one is perfect

Plus, when you go to a restaurant and eat the food, you judge the food based on its quality not the chef personalities. You don't even know who cook your meal even none the less their personalities. Overall, Hung or Casey being top chef is still great for me! :)

A chef has to inspire people to work for and with them. Hung couldn't no matter how hard he tried. It's too bad Hung's cooking doesn't come up to what he thinks it does. Padma, thanks for talking about the show again in video form! :)
Anyways, I guess it's getting harder now and it's time to trim accordingly.
But first, I must say that when you get cocky on your video blog, it's a bit offputting. I am one to believe and trust in the opinions on the show about the food, but I also try and understand the pressure the contestants are under. I think Dale said it best, when he said, 'most of you can't, it's f'in hard', to paraphrase.
And yeah, I don't really get all the attention on Casey's name of her dish. Fine, it was incorrect. Ream her for it and move on. No biggie. It just looks silly on the show and on these blogs (Tom's too) when you Judges seem to hold on to some things that are not really related to the tasting of the foods.
Btw, what is with Dale and Hung looking different in some parts of their interviews during the show? Did they trim themselves after cooking, or were they talking about everything very post-show?
Thanks, michael

Hung keeps up with the piped salmon on cucumber. Ho-hum . . .
The team thing vascillates from week to week. Be a leader, be a team player. When Chef Tom asked Sara why she didn't shove forward with the dish she suggested, wouldn't she have been dubbed "not a team player?" I don't think there's much in the middle.

I think Hung has shown that he can be a team player when the challenge is a team effort. He did well in the late-night snack challenge and in the restaurant wars. I can see why he isn't as touchy-feely as the others. It's a competition people! Hung has his eye on the prize and the food to get him just that. As others have said, it will (or should) be down to Hung and Casey. Dale and Brian both need to go home. Brian's peasant pie was an embarrassing mess to present to some of the most renounced chefs in the world. What was he thinking? Dale is a fine cook, but not top chef. He has been inconsistent (i.e. forgetting to add the honey truffle sauce) a few times. Dale seems like the kind of cook who tries something out and then fine tunes the dish until it is perfect. Well, on TC you only get one shot - do it right the first time or pack your knives. That's what separates the cooks from the chefs.

You can tell that he studied his craft with a vengeance, and I'm sure it hurt his heart to hear Tom say "I don't see you in food". Wow. What a mean statement to make to someone who consistently puts his best foot forward as a chef!
Although the judges are supposed to critique and evaluate, that statement, to me, went a bit too far.

I really wish the people who comment on this blog would do a little research before blasting out invectives. From what I have read on this blog, Anthony's Blog and the rest, these are mainly a bunch of housewives and unemployed Shoe salesmen who have never worked in a Professional Kitchen, never studied culinary history, and...apparently...never bothered to check the bios or professional resumes or credentials of the Hosts.
There isn't a single judge or host on this show who does not have the "credentials" or the chops to be there. End of story.
And, quite honestly, I have yet to see Casey be "mistreated" or under-valued as a cook, simply because she's a woman. Sara was a woman, if you recall.... and she wasn't given any slack for it. Heck, it may turn out that Dale is a woman, and he's in the Top Three just like Casey.
Give it a rest, people. This is the modern age. We're not on a Witch Hunt anymore.

It's time for Hung to pay for all of his belly aching about how the judges don't know what the hell they're talking about. After all, they've only been in the profession for more years than he's been alive and they're award winning recognized authorities, but how does that matter? It's time for him to pay for being a bull in a china closet. The knife weilding incident where he almost cut Casey for example; and for being so inconsiderate of everyone else, i.e. spilling things and just leaving them for others to step in and fall; or doing something like that right on camera and then denying it.
Surely a Top Chef , in addition to cooking talents, must possess people skills, right? Surely a Top Chef must be of a person of integrity and scruples and be considerate of other, right? If that's true, Casey will be the winner next week and Hung can blame everybody else for his failings. If none of those things count, then I guess we can crown Hung now.
I look forward to the finals program.

Some of the judging choices have confused me this season. There is no way that Dale should be in the final 3 and Howie should have been gone weeks earlier. I realize Howie stirred things up and producers wanted to keep him for that purpose but I thought it was supposed to be about the food! I was utterly disgusted watching the sweat from his bald head drip into the dishes he prepared. Most disappointing was Tre's elimination. He was clearly one of the best from the start. I do believe that Casey and Hung belong in the finals. Despite how people feel about Hung on a personal level he is a very talented chef. I would've liked to see Casey, Hung and Tre in the final 3. I just found Top Chef about 3 weeks ago and it has me so interested that I allowed by TiVo to record repeats of Top Chef from Season 2. Well, what I learned is that Padma is at least interactive and expressive. I think the first host, Julie, was paying off a debt or divorcing the director, because she was horribly monotone, cold and uninvolved. Chef Tom provided more editorial, which was informative, but the contestants all expressed the same fears, egos, likes and dislikes. It's almost as if the good guy, the villian, the ego, the competitor and the gay one all get to select from a bunch of pre-printed comments and tape them in front of the camera. I love watching for the food presentations and for the guest judges but the rest is all just the same dish on a different day.

Hung is a creep and god forbid he wins. Most of his dishes were fish and traditional recipes. Nothing was very original, ever. It was sad to see Brian leave and his dish was one of the better dishes (padma even said so) and since he said that his best wasn't served - and the judges thought it was - they let him go - on a play of words. Brian should have never said that heis best had not been seen - maybe the panel would have kept him rather than letting him go on his play of words, I thought they were being judged on the dish not the words they used. Yes as a top chef you should decide what is on the plate (like what cheese to use) but some cheese is too strong and some people prefer it off! like myself I cannot have some cheese or I am ill. So do they prefer some people to be ill or not want to try the dish at all. He did recommend which cheese would set ff the dish.
As for the show in general it seems always Padma is bringing doom. It really stunk when they told them they were going to have a night on the town and made them dress up and bring them to a shack outside in which they had to cook. It just seemed a bit on the cruel side - and again stopping them from NY to cook in the airport when saying pack your bags your headed to NY - oh but wait not really one of you poor souls is gong to be left behind... did we forget to mention that before we told you NY. eesh! poor cast.

First off I would like to say that this show is great. Congraduation to the judges, staff, and show for winning many awards.
"Top Chef" really is about who could cook the best. If the contestant chefs came to the show for a personality contest, then they have tried out for the wrong show. They should have applied for the next tv star chef. Many people particularily like "Top Chef" because they want to see who has talent. The reality, however, is that many people begin to get caught up in personality. What they don't realize is 1) this is a competition and 2) this is a show. These are not necessarily indicative of real life work conditions- this is a contest that is viewed for national tv. Quite often opinions are formed from a few minutes of clips that had to be condensed from many hours of shootings.
Top Chef should be awarded to the most qualified chef regardless of gender. Gail appears to be very bias. In fact she validated this suspicion in her last blog. In my honest opinion, Gail should not be a judge because she really is not out to find the Top Chef. It is kind of interesting how the show for the first time will be announcing the winner live. I do suspect that the show want a female winner. Whatever the decision is, I respect the opnion of the judges. But please give an honest credible answer whatever the decision may be, because really the public is smart and undermining their intelligence is very obvious.

And the main thing that sets her apart from the other two, especially Hung, is she works with heart and soul, always is willing to help the other chefs, does not openly criticize anyone. Now the totally heartless Hung. With him, there is no guessing, he has said it straight out--he doesn't care about anyone else, he is there for himself only. When criticized, he openly disagrees with the judges and is always ready to blame someone else for his shortcomings. He never, ever helps another chef. I'm sure it is difficult to be the person to say "please pack your knives", and sometimes your sadness could be seen in your face which shows that you are a sweet heart. You seem to have a good sense of fair play, as in season two when Marcel was bullied you tried to comfort him. And your response to the shaved heads seemed appropriate. Hope you get to read this as I appreciate your efforts. Mary

I think Gail needs to go-- next season get someone else. She does not strike me as a serious writer or chef, I have read her magazine and I don't think she is the one who should be at the judges table. I also don't think it was appropriate to have the loser, Brian at the table tasting the dishes during the judging. He may have skewed the results.

I am incredibly happy to see Hung win. He worked the hardest at it showed. It feels even better to see all these people that talk so badly about him and his talents, eat their words.
I am happy to watch a show that lives up to it's title.
P.S. Padma, I still found how you reacted to the bullying of Marcel, comforting.

to olympia singh,
Let think about your comment abit! you said about casey: "regardless of tonights performance, she was out of her element. Her track record speaks volumes. The judges should of taken that into consideration before choosing hung. Cassey has come along away ". With such a disastrous performance on the final for casey and you still think she should have won, then what the hell is the point of the final if she screw up the final and still win? Have you ever think of that. Now to the point where you talk about her record. Just go to wikipedia and search for top chef and you will see the chart of who is doing better: Hung or casey!. Next, you said : "she have come along way." From where?

Top Chef is a great show..particularly if you are interested in food. Why are you and Tom so condescending to the chefs when it is time for them"to pack their knives and go home" There has to be some way to speak so that ;yes it is their time to leave but not with the anger you seem to convey. It is awful for anyone to have to leave and there isn't anybody who wants to screw up and have to leave. Some of the elimination rounds have nothing to do with being a good chef in the settings they are used to. Padma you are gorgeous and I just wish you could be sweeter/nicer!! None of these people make it to the show unless they have the goods to be there..the tests are sometimes just over the top!!

Hung, the guy who made an ice cream dish from cauliflower, tempura flakes, and tamarind-brown butter sauce won the top chef? I would have thrown up if I even took a bite of that dish and you name him top chef. That, and the fact he is a sniveling backstabbing little napolean.. wow, you guys really picked a winner. Padma rocks so I'll keep watching. maybe next season you'll learn to actually get judges that know what they are doing. lol, what a joke

padma, love season 4 so far! only 1 show but you got rid of the right person. she couldnt cook and she didnt have a personality at all... yuck.
andrew... hmmmm... 2 words --- classless and cocky. every word is the 'f' word and he thinks he is the greatest chef when obviously he isnt. confindence is 1 thing, but come on, he is ridiculous.
i couldnt wait for season 4 to start and it is awesome so far!

I can't believe someone who went to culinary school doesn't know how to cook sticky rice. I am american and love food from thailand. I learned how to fix it myself. You should use sweet rice soaked overnight or at least for 2 hours and then steam in a bamboo pot. I have traveled to a lot of places and maybe I'm wrong. But when I made thai food for my friends (who are very well traveled) they loved it No culinary school is neccesary 4 me
