Last year, my sister went through the agonizing decision of whether or not to spend $5,000 on medical bills for her cat, or put the poor thing to sleep. In the end, she paid the money, but it prompted me to actually bite the bullet and buy Pet Insurance. It’s sort of a negligible amount of money, and I forget that I have it until the vet is free.
