I admit that I am one of those people who totally hears songs in iPod commercials, looks them up, and then downloads them. It's how I discovered the Polyphonic Spree (from the VW/iPod commercial), as well as pretty much everything else I've been listening to. But I am happy to announce that I beat the marketing department at iTunes to the punch when I started listening to Feist about a month ago. Yes, now her video for "1234" is in a commercial, (okay, so that's why I DID download the video and why I DO watch it six times a day) but it doesn't matter. I love her. I love her sparkly jumpsuit. I want to be in her next video. Zac H

Are you kidding me? Her harmonies are practically monophonic, and there's really no feeling or soul in her voice. The music DEFINITLY doesn't help, but her voice is just not that good. At least she can hold a note better than Nelly Furtado. Being a musician/producer, I'd completely redo the song, but opinions are like armpits, we all have at least two of them, right? Enjoy the mediocre artist and song with a mediocre voice.

Thank you, Zac,
I am so excited to learn the name of the artist who sings that ipod commercial song - which I guess is called "1234." I LOVE IT! Thank you so much.

I have to disagree with you on The Polyphonic Spree...I checked them out too, and it sounds like a bad version of "Up With People." Check out the group Hem "The Part Where you Let Go" from the Liberty Mutual Commercial; Royksopp's "Remind Me" from the Caveman commercial (in the airport); and Forever Thursday, "How Can it Be" from the JC Penny commercial. And if anyone is wondering what that GREAT sone is from the diamond commercial (where the guy put the necklace on his wife while she is sleeping), it's an old Cat Stevens song, remade by Chan Marshall from the group Cat Power. From what I can find on the net, it is not scheduled to be released...if anyone else can find it, please let me know where- it's a beautiful cover.

feist was ok as backup singer in broken social scene, but now she's an egotistical, rehashed innocence mission. i had the misfortune to see her in concert (as opening act). can you say DIVA?
