Now that my oldest daughter is three, I've logged some serious hours on Sesame Street. And you know what? It is the best kid's show out there. By far. Sorry, Dora, but you really suck.
Sesame Street is far superior to the other children's shows. Most kid shows feature trucks for boys, princesses for girls, and there's nothing in between. It's nauseating. (Disney Princesses/Fairies/Pink Puffballs with Tiaras: I mean you.) On Sesame Street, there is real teaching and learning -- plus it's engaging and fun for parents to watch with their kids. Tina Fey just kicked off the current season as a pirate. Arrrr, matey!
Of course, this isn't a new thing. When you were a kid, Stevie Wonder rocked out in the neighborhood.
Sunny day….

My youngest is two now and so far we have avoided Dora, Diego and the Disney Princessess ( my own personal axis of evil).
We log time on Sesame Street, Curious George and the Backyardigans. Check out the BY on Nick. Full of very catchy song and dance and not dumbed down for kids at all.

Tina Fey CRACKED ME UP!!!
Pirates of the Care-To-Be-Readin! It was PRICELESS!
Dora is a lot better than SOME of what's out there - have you SEEN Baby Einsteins? I SWEAR I lost IQ points in five minutes of watching. It's a shame that tv is such a wasteland for children - with TWO two year olds it's hard to find a break, but I can't in good conscience put them in front of the t.v.
