I was in Los Angeles for a week, when my aunt said she wanted to go to one of those "Swingers Bars" -- which threw me until it turned out she meant the bars featured in the movie "Swingers" -- so we ended up at "The Dresden." There, this handsome guy named David Gielan was playing songs that had some serious chops. He has an amazing voice and watching him, I actually had the sense that I was watching someone in the early stages of a much bigger career.

His music, lyrics and voice are incredibly good, and his artistic presence enchants the audience. Most Sundays the place is packed, and the crowd stays late to closing time, refusing to leave, enjoying the atmosphere, good food and drink, and David's playing.
If you have a couple of hours do make a stop at the Dresden on Sunday evening to listen to David. You won't be disappointed. I know I will not.
