The Post Reports today that 60s film icon Brigitte Bardot is “ashamed to be French!” Por quois? Is she irked over the price of baguettes? Mais non! It seems Bardot, 71, is angered that France still allows the slaughter of minks for fur coats.
So is she going to disrobe, as Pam Anderson recently did for animal rights? No, that’s not for this sexy septuagenarian. Bardot, a social conservative except when it comes to animal rights, wrote a letter to Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson saying “To the contrary of Garbo who left Sweden to finish her days in the United States, perhaps I will leave France to finish my days in Sweden.” Apparently Sweden is trying to pass laws that would give “farmed minks” better living conditions.
Brigitte, if you head to Sweden, good luck putting together all of that Ikea furniture. (Hint: Don’t lose that little wrench/screwdriver tool that comes with practically every purchase.)
