In a blast of meta-tv-union, Laura Bennett has made some maternity clothes for “Boston Legal” star Julie Bowen.
"I called her up,” Bowen explains, “and asked her to make me a dress. I love her style, she dressed herself very well pregnant. So I asked her to send me a dress. [Finding maternity clothes] definitely is not my favorite thing in the world, because you're stretching around a whole new body. What's up with that? It's like I'm 14 and have to figure out how to dress."
The 36-year-old and her husband, real-estate investor Scott Phillips, are expecting a child next spring, reports People magazine.
Laura Bennett, whose baby is due today, has been one of the most sought-after designers of Project Runway’s third season. You have to love a girl who can stay fabulously, glamourously busy through nine months of pregnancy.

Your clothes are great and I wish I had occasions to wear your beautiful clothes. You and Michael were wronged but the people who buy clothes will support you.

The news that celebs are tapping Laura to design clothing for them doesn't surprise me at all-- after all, she designs elegant, classic, beautiful things-- and what do celebs want to wear? the same. I love Laura-- she'd fit in perfectly with Katherine Hepburn, Gene Tierney, Veronica Lake...In fact, she'd make a fabulous actress. Career change, Laura? :o)
