Good point about "homophobia." Where is all the outrage at the homophobia in the media? No where. The LGBT community is the last great bigoted punching bag of America. Where's GLAAD? Where's some queer organization that has a real voice? We need a Gay Al Sharpton NOW! Any takers?

I just happened to be home at the time and had "The View" on (only because it was in High Def). I saw that and thought, "Oh no, she didn't!" I'm surprised this took a couple of days to get going. I was expecting an immediate reaction since my Asian-American sisters and brothers don't sit back and take this crap like we used to (for everybody's edification, I'm of Filipino descent). Better late than never . . .

OH,PLEASE, give it a break. Would the same comment have been made if it was made on SNL, or made in 'Spanish' or 'Frence'? I'm not defending anyone, it was funny and true about the news going around the world.

i used to enjoy rosie so much then she started pushing her own and in my opinion, narrow, opinions on everyone. she is a "hetteraphobe" as someone called her, she cant seem to seperate herself from anything. her humor that once was so bright is now spoiled by what apears to be hate. i believe if she isnt off the view withion 6 months the views reign will be over. thank you for the opportunity to speak out.

Racist? What words could she have used instead to imitate Chinese so it would be acceptable to you? If someone asked me to pretend I was speaking Chinese, I would have said the same things. There was nothing hateful said or implied. This is the stupidest thing I've heard all day.

No one would even care if Rosie werent so judgemental on everyone else. As far as her comment on Kelly, I think she totally overlooked the fact that someone who has just shaken the hands of many in the audience, should not be placing there hands over anyone's mouth. Even Barack Obama is concerned about germs and uses hand sanitizer after shaking hands. He also recommends to others that they do the same. As he says, "lots of germs out there. I cannot stress this enough". So, Rosie, you may not have been being racist, but you did set yourself up for scrutiny as you scrutinize everyone else. Political correctness can be turned against you in a split second. Be very wary of that sword.

"The View" got exactly what they deserved. I can't believe they traded Star for Rosie. I no longer watch "The View", enough said.

Rosie seems to come off like the "Church Lady" from Snl but a little more judgemental.I bet we get a half-assed apology from her with a little validation of the comment thrown in which was not funny by the way.Being an Afrcan-American I found her "joke" insensitive and racist .And as far as Kelly being a homophobe because she didnt want a man's hand over her mouth was crazy.Guys are guys what ever their orientation may be and let's face facts most of them hardly ever wash there hands.None of my five brothers could ever put their hand over my mouth!

I am Chinese, born and bred in New York City (as well as both of my parents). I am deeply offended by Rosie's comments. The words "ching chong" are among the most heinous you can say to an Asian. Growing up, those were the main words that were spewed by those making fun of my family and myself - oh, and of course they went with that other cruel, timeless "joke" - the slanting of the eyes. Way to go, Rosie!

I think what it boils down to is hypocricy and double-standards. It isn't ok for Kelly Ripa to tell Clay Aiken she "doesn't know where his hand has been", but it IS ok for Rosie to refer to a chinese broadcast as sounding like "chingity ching chong." Both comments have the ability to be taken in the wrong and both have the ability to offend. I, personally, don't feel there was anything wrong with either statement. However, I feel that Rosie deserves the negative backlash of her statement after making such a big deal about Kelly Ripas statement. And yes, I'm gay.

languages are imitated as sounding a certain way all the time and i think its a stretch to call this racist. how many times have you heard people imitate spanish by putting and "o" on the end of words or imitate french by going "aw haw haw" in a snorty snooty voice or putting on a dumb hillbilly accent to imitated southerners? ? anyone outraged by this is overly sensitive.

So you folks believe it's okay for her to imitate and mock the Chinese language but not okay for Shaquille O'Neal to do the same? That's double standard for you. What hypocricy!

Anyone ever see that photo show "Without Sanctuary" lots of smiling faces in those pictures, it was awful hilarious to hang Negroes once in America.
Which isn't to say that Rosie's rant was deadly, only that it was indifferent; and with her proven attitude of indifference towards 'others' then we ought not be surprised.

Racist maybe to strong a word but it's definitely offensive and demeaning. If you don't understand why it's because you've never been taunted for being Asian. I've had whites and blacks do it to me as an adult and for no other reason than to express their hatred of me because of my color...if you don't get it then you're just ignorant or stupid.

Rosie O'Donnell is a total idiot. I'm not sure if she actually has any negative opinions towards Asians, or if she is just jumping on the bigot bandwagon to get publicity. Either way, her cruel and insensitive mockery of the Chinese language should not be brushed aside as something trivial (her 'salt on the wound' apology).
