If you think you can whisk like a winner, chop like a champ, and use a wok like a world champion ... then you might have what it takes to become a Top Chef.

Bravo announced yesterday that they are beginning work on a third season of "Top Chef". An open casting call is starting now. So put your recipe books down and download the application HERE.

i gotta' say it.. i KNEW Michael had it in the bag from the expression on Tom's face! never underestimate the power of pain killers! but seriously, it LOOKED fantastic!
i can't help but wonder if Betty's soups had not all been presented in the exact same way.. would her product have not been more appetizing? crystal was clearly a terrible choice for the consistancy of her soups. they looked the same with 3 diferent colours. (and none appeared tempting in the least! from this side of the camera the judges made a great choice.
    thanks ..

It was so nice to see Michael win for a change. I'm not sure just why, but I do enjoy him! I'll miss Betty, but I was fed up with her constant needling of Marcel. He's been through so much with his fellow competitors! Give him a break, gang! Enough, already! Well done, judges!!! You put contestant's attitudes aside, and did the right thing. I admire you immensely for that!

I just can't get enough of your amazing show! It's better than sex!!!

Just a comment, perhaps useful for next season's competition: The Quick Fire Challenge seems a little pointless now - for what are they competing? Even if it's not immunity, I think laying out some prize at the beginning of the Quick Fire makes it more interesting & impactful.

i tell ya, i am a cooking fanatic. i love doing, i love watching shows on it, and i agree compleatly that Top Chef is SOOOO much better than "Next Food Network Star."
i love to cook, i love learning new ways and new styles and new recipes to try out on friends and family, this is one of the best i've seen....i'm sorry but even cooking "how to" shows arent as good.
i'm a compleatly self taught, non professional cook. when i cook, my friends call it getting creative in the kitchen ...and when i call em, thats all i gotta say. i can walk into a kitchen, see whats there and come up with something on the fly.
my friends have been on me about trying out for a show like Top Chef for a long time, but i never thought i was right material...but ya know what...since hearing that cycle 3 is casting...i'm gonna take a shot at it!
    God! I LOVE THIS SHOW!

Haven't we had enough of foam boy Marcel? Betty should have stayed and Marcel sent to pack his knives. Better yet, Marcel should have left several shows ago....

I seldom comment on TV shows but this one has me going. I am sorry to see Betty leave. She had personality and was a pleasant contrast to all the ego we see each week. Gail needs to return to Canada. Where did she cook? What are her qualifications? Did any of you try to do these challenges before they were given to the contestants? I think your comments would bear validity if they weren't exclusively limited to your taste. I would like to eat at your restaurant Tom and plan to. I will critique your idea of good. Betty is a winner in my opinion. She will survive. I think you are all getting too harsh with your criticism unless you have tried the challenge yourself.

I think that Top Chef is the best show on television today! Yeh, I can actually watch 6+ episodes each day, and usually turn off the TV if TC isn't on.
I am self taught, and like many I only cook for my own enjoyment and the enjoyment of friends and family. At 51, I am now trying to get into the French Culinary Institute in NYC and make totally new start doing what I truly love.
With all that said, I think the judges as usual were right on. I enjoyed Betty's personality and will miss her on the show, but this week I agree that she was the weakest contestant. I agree with many of you that Marcel can be obnoxious, but I think that professionals should be able to put personal opinions aside...but then it does make for interesting television.
I was happy to see Michael pull off a double win this week. He has been sort of lurking in the shadows, and has dodged a few bullets for sure...but I have thought from week 1 that the others have underestimated his ability.
I want to thank the hosts, the producers, Bravo TV, and everyone who makes this show possible. You all have given me the push to get me to pursue doing what I really love to do. I think that next year after I graduate from the FCI, I will definitely try to get on the show myself! It would be an amazing experience for sure! But for now, I'll just continue to create, learn and watch the best show on TV!

Marcel is hated by all the others (sans Elia) because he's got some class, yet he can be cool, too. They say when someone hates or judges a person, it's because they want to be like them, or wish they could be. I truly hope Marcel wins; he's has much potential to go far and I see nothing wrong with his people skills, the others just don't want to hear a word out of him so they criticize him on that. (He did NOT snap at Betty, sheesh!) The others (sans Elia) are crude and vulgar for the most part and Betty was no lady. When will society stop thinking it's cool or just plain all right to use vulgar language in every sentence? If Marcel doesn't win, I hope Michael does. If Sam or Cliff win, their egos will go even higher and it's going to be so nice when they fall off!

I love this show and what makes it especially good is that the judges are fair. I am however so fed up with the constant attacks on Marcel. Betty ought to be ashamed of herself. She is probably the oldest person yet the most childish. Grow up Betty. I now want Marcel to win.

I'm just wondering....what on earth did Marcel actually do? I mean, yeah he's pretty annoying and I think the foam thing is getting kind of silly, but I haven't seen him do or say anything that warrants people getting in his face or talking behind his back like everyone is still in high school. Where is the professionalism? I found this last episode pretty low class when everyone is in the kitchen snarking at Marcel while he's out there serving his dish. Who cares if you don't like him? I don't like him either. But let him hang himself with his foams and silly plating rather than acting childish.
