Malan at Fashion Week

20070209_malan_320x240.jpgWe all went out to Malan's Fashion Week show at Arena on Friday. And he’s a hit!

You read it here first, folks. Malan Breton is well on his way to being one of America's greatest designers of Red Carpet fashion. We saw some absolutely gorgeous gowns, and some pantsuits that made us want to climb in and strut around in them.

Fellow Runway alums Diana Eng and Angela Kesslar were on hand, as well as Tim Gunn and the entire crew from “Blogging Project Runway.”

Malan's collection is lush and glamorous and made us feel like we were in Paris in the early 50’s. He uses a good deal of draping, and plenty of ostrich feathers to round out a look that is innovative and glamorous all at once.

We’ll have more pictures up as soon as we can. In the meantime, check out his website at malanbreton.com, or read his blog here.

Congratulations, Malan!

Technically, the clothing takes its spine from the glamour years of Hollywood- late 30's to mid 40's. There was a gorgeous pants outfit that was perfect Katherin Hepburn, a robe that Carole Lombard would have been happy to strut about on screen...etc

But I'm quibbling here about fashion history. With a few minor exceptions, his clothing was sexy, wearable and very feminine. I'm glad that he's got a shop, clients and was able to strut his stuff during FW.

I loved the show, and would happily wear his items anywhere.

Congratulations Malan! So very happy for you. How wonderful to Prove that the Real Winner is MALAN and the Real Loser is Project Runway!

Best wishes for a long and successful fashion career ... today Armani ... tomorrow Malan

1. Keep it clean. You're a Bravo fan, you know better words than most TV audiences.
2. Avoid using ALL CAPS! (It’s like screaming...)
3. We don't post e-mail addresses or phone numbers.
4. Have a good time. We love that you love that we love your love of the blogs.
