Frasier Star Comes Out

May 31, 2007

Do you remember that whole Daphne and Niles “will they, won’t they?” storyline from the TV show “Frasier?” Turns out they won’t.

David Hyde Pierce, the actor best known for his role as the stuffy Niles Crane from NBC’s long running sitcom “Frasier,” officially stepped out of the closet today.

The 48 year-old actor confirmed through his publicist that he is in fact in a committed relationship with his long time partner Brian Hargrove.

We hear that every time a celebrity outs himself to the public Isaiah Washington has to film another P.S.A. announcement.

Our gay little brother OUTzone has full details on the revelation: http://blogs.outzonetv.com/breakoutnews/2007/05/pierce.php

So what else is new?

That's fine. We already knew.

Duh--and? I absolutely loved the show, have almost all the DVD's but NEVER believed the Niles & Daphne romance. He's a great actor, nonetheless.

I think we all suspected it, but I'm glad David's come out. Every time a respected actor, musician, doctor, whatever, gets honest about his or her lifestyle, it makes it so much easier for young gays still struggling with their identity. Now, let's hope he doesn't get the same vitriol that still gets flung at Rosie.

I will be so glad when mutually-consenting adult gay and lesbian relationships are finally recognized as the non-issue they are, making way for focused attention to the urgent matter of sexual abuse and exploitation of children by ANYONE. To my knowledge, David Hyde-Pierce is a good person, and I know he is an exceptionally fine actor who has given me many hours of joy and laughter. I salute you, David, and wish you and Brian the very best . God bless. Karen R

I cannot believe how fake Ramona and Alex are? Ramona may have money but she lacks class!!! She acts like a CRAZY WOMAN and blames it on Natural Energy. She should really take some etiquette classes. And Alex come on you want the life that LuAnn and Jill have. And please give those kids a nickname.

watched the nyc reunion.could'nt believe alex's denial about being social climber.no,there's nothing wrong with improving one's life but she and simon are so pretensious.they give too much information as if looking for acception and approval with people they hardly know and show no tact.they put their children on pedestals and that scene at dinner was terrible, they took no responsibility for the kid running around.ramona acts like a teenager, tossing her hair like she's 15.it was wrong for alex to bring simon to girl's night.but on the other hand whoever invited her should have insisted she come by herself.ramona is just as tactless.act your age ramona!never mind etiquette classes, take some dancing lessons!i understand the need to have fun but she should really behave according to her age.she's like that other nut-job vicki of the o.c.loud and crass.luann, well she's the best.so is jill and that goes for bethanny too.alex could take some lessons from them.
