Trans-formers

20070723_tranny_320x240.jpg

What is that saying about transformers? Oh, right. They're "more than meets the eye". Which brings us to our first Dish of the morning, so hang onto your lattes.

We read about this today, and it had us doing a little dance of joy around the Dish Headquarters. Just when we were worried there wasn’t anything new under the reality-television-sun, those wacky Brits swoop in with their depraved taste in television and save the day.

Here’s the pitch: a group of guys vie for the attention (and affection?) of a pretty young lady, who sorts through the pack to find the one for her. Sounds like a pretty boilerplate reality show, right?

What if we told you the young lady was actually a transvestite?

Let’s all take a minute to ponder that…

Yes, it’s true. “There’s Something About Miriam” will start airing on Fox Reality this Halloween, and we will be there. But will we be able to watch an entire episode without feeling weird about the whole thing? Maybe… we’ll see. All we know is that we can hardly believe this is actually going to air, and the prospect makes us a little giddy.

The show is based on a UK version of the shocking series, which aired in 2004, and was followed by a slew of lawsuits. The suits, though, were settled out of court, and went on to show internationally. Because in times like these, the world demands the humor and drama that only a tranny can bring.

We have so many questions about this, we don’t even know where to begin. How do the men find out? Who wins? And what does he win, exactly? What does s/he win? And how does “Miriam” feel about this? We’re going to assume there won’t be any of the typical hot tub sequences… right? Um... right?

Do you think they cast “Miriam” from those Maury Povich “Am I A Man or Woman?” episodes? Oh… it’s all so exciting and terrifying. Happy Halloween!
